  1. Ok, is this right? OSX is set to Active, Primary Partition Windows is set to System, Boot, Page File, Crash Dump, Primary Partition Data is set to Primary Partition Is hibernation working for anyone with this same setup? I'm using Chimera 1.8
  2. Thanks for the reply Doix. I'll double check to see if my windows is the active partition or not (I'm pretty sure osx is the active one). This link describes the problem: http://forum.voodooprojects.org/index.php/topic,1430.0.html It might just be my configuration that's messed up. I generally don't use hibernate but use sleep a lot. However, I've been coming back from work and my laptop has been on for maybe a few hours. It's annoying.
  3. Thanks Doix, I thought that GUID MBR aren't together, but didn't know exactly the difference. A lot of people on forums have indicated the same problem (inability to hibernate) because you need to set the windows partition to active. Doing that with an MBR partitioned drive means chameleon won't load. To set both windows as the active partition and have chameleon boot loader load requires GUID, which I understand doesn't work on our bioses. Can anyone let me if they managed to get windows to hibernate with osx, and what your configuration is? (eg chimera 1.8, windows as active partition)
  4. Was wondering if anyone could help. I noticed that my windows install would wake itself from sleep. After some investigating i figured its trying to hibernate. When i manually try to hibernate nothing really happens. The screen flicks off then on again. I wonder if this is to do with Chimera? Edit: There are some fixes to this but it requires a GUID MBR if i understand correctly - we can't use that right?
  5. For your geekbench score: You need to use the SSDT for your CPU (I posted links to another thread for the i5, the ones in the pack are for i7 - not sure where to get i3 ones from) or use the enable P and C states in you chameleon boot.plist file as a minimum. If you do go the SSDT route make sure you edit your org.chameleon.boot.plist to disable c/p states and to drop ssdt. There was a discussion about this earlier in the thread.
  6. Have a look here: http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=22844 @Rockball73 I think that might have been the problem when I tried doing it so I used fdisk in OS X. Did you try booting with -f and GraphicsEnabler=No? Not sure how much that would help.
  7. Yup, can't see a problem with using diskpart on windows - either one should work equally well. However, speaking from experience I had trouble setting the mac partition as active from the windows Install disk but doing it from OS X fixed my boot problems. Can anyone shed any light on this? Any advantage to diskpart on windows or mac?
  8. True, but you will also know how os x sees your partitions eg hd(1,2) so you can double check in org.chameleon.boot.plist that you've got the right partitions as default, hidden etc.
  9. Make sure your mac partition is set to active (as in it boots off of that). Do this using terminal if you can get into os x.
  10. I experience a drop in cursor accuracy the faster I set it - did you install the PS/2 kexts when installing iatkos by any chance? Also I got a bit confused about AICPUPM, is the one in the pack for i7 or is it generic. So to get proper speedstep you need correct SSDT (or enable P states) and correct AICPUPM?
  11. Have you guys managed to get sleep working? I'm on bios A07, using chimera 1.7, use the patched AICPU from v6 and the Nvidia-off DSDT, have deleted NullCPUPM as well. Going into sleep works fine, but waking doesn't. Just hangs on black screen (no audio or anything). Also I still can't find out why i can't get a boot theme (there is only org.chameleon.boot.plist in Extra directory - nothing else anywhere, not even com.apple.boot.plist). Edit: Turned out my active partition was Windows not OS X. After setting the active partition to OS X the theme came up as well as all the modules loading (they weren't before).
  12. Just to update, I changed my SSDT from the one in the v6 pack for an i5-2430m specific one and my geek bench score improved by 30% if anyone has i5-2430/2410 you can download the i5 SSDT from this post:http://www.tonymacx86.com/viewtopic.php?f=259&t=42503&sid=31df4c5d936c31f6de95a7a9effb3173 thread. I'm not sure the of the effect of having the Nvidia_off from the v6 plus this SSDT together (and EFI injection for display 1080p) but it seems to work ok. Only have problems with keyboard/touch pad in the control log but they work anyway - and some errors about AppleHDA but again audio works ok. Thanks for everything DoiX and everyone else on here.
  13. Hi DoiX, thanks for the quick reply I only have org.chameleon.boot.plist in Extra folder, no where else :/ In the post it says its not i3/i7 so I thought its for i5 (reading it again it does also say its for i7 only), i have already installed it but it seems to be ok. I have found an SSDT for i5-2430m, do I just replace the SSDT in the root folder to install it over the i7 one i have? How does this interfere with the Nvidia_off DSDT? Many many thanks DoiX.
  14. Hi it's my first post but i've been lurking for a while. Got my L502x last week and am writing this off 10.7.2 . I owe it all to this forum especially DoiX, A_Kennedy, Wen1 and all the rest - many many thanks! I have a few questions and would be really grateful if you can answer them: 1) Chimera 1.7 doesn't seem to be reading off org.chameleon.boot.plist - no matter which theme I select or which partition is default I always get both my windows 7 partition and os x partition appearing in a text based selection without even a countdown. I've reinstalled Chimera a few times. Champlist says that my boot is corrupted? 2) Sometimes I get graphical glitches, either horizontal or vertical glitches (very obvious sometimes) - is this expected? I have 1080p and using the EFI injection from pack v6. 3) The SSDT in pack v6 is for i7 right? I have i5-2430m - will it work or do i need an alternative? I get around 4:30 hours with the nvidia_off DSDT . Also, I noticed that bluetooth doesn't switch off when I attempted restarting the system (had it tethered to my iPhone). Maybe this is linked to the restart issue? Thanks Sheyac
