    kernel panic

it is known problem if you use voodoo kernel 9.7.0 during iATKOS v7 installation. i already ask around, but no straight answer where would be wrong. for those users who ran vanilla kernel they don't have this issue. What I did is reinstall Voodoo_Kernel_Release_1.0_Rev_A.dmg and seatbelt.kext from 10.5 http://code.google.com/p/xnu-dev/ no KP since
  2. I used qoopz 9.7.0 kernel from iATKOS v7 and Parallels Desktop & VMWare causing Kernel Panic. I have to downgrade my kernel back to 9.5.0 to make them work. Is this new release address this issue?
  3. As of writing my reply above i get answer at voodooprojects.org. Compare it to your answer and read some EULA thingy something, I finally solved it. I download Voodoo_Kernel_Release_1.0_Rev_A.dmg, install and dang!!! now Parallels Dekstop can run my Windows XP VM. So I guess everything almost perfect now. I never have KP in my desktop except that one. In your account what is slower boot times? My system boot under a minute. Compare to Windows it's huge Anyway, I'm plan to writing my detail and post installation at your place and discuss a few issues, but that Parallels KP stop me. Since it solved now I'll be there soon. Final question how can I know detail boot process? They run so fast I can't capture it with my camera.
  4. Type Realtek ALC885 in search box top of the forum page. for a start go here http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=175804 or like above type mouse lag. Can you elaborate this? It can be useful for someone who has the same system as you are
  5. same as me too. prior to version 10.5.6 VM softwares work in iPC ppf5 & iATKOS v5. but they don't work in iATKOS v7. sometimes latest version isn't always good thing, huh? already ask at voodooprojects.org they say it's not theirs but distro problem. ask at uphuck forum no answers. i like this iATKOS v7 because i don't have to choose too many option to make my system boot to desktop. anyway, thanks for reply, i think i'll stick with virtualBox. Best Regard X
  6. Thank you for reupload. I'm not sure if this is the right thread to ask. Parallels Desktop and VMWare causing kernel panic every time start virtual machine (tried XP and Vista). Parallels recognized my VT-x enabled in BIOS. This problem is asked everywhere but no answer so far. I'm not really sure where is the problem, is it the kernel? is it one of the patched kext? or maybe PD, VMWare and other VM software that require VT-x natively won't work in IATKOS v7.
  7. nForce ISO link is dead. Reupload please.
  8. http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=132462 nforce chipset is not as easy as intel chipset so read the thread carefully.

    Half Done?

me have that kind of trouble too. but then i realized that you gotta approach something with its own attitude. if you approach OSX with windows attitude you'll likely found some "trouble". same as linux, vice versa. btw, if we talking about one partition every time you drag a file to another place mean you move it. it happen on both windows and osx. consider that most (all?) apple product came with just 1 partition copy/move file is not an issue. and don't give me that while you cut file(s), your system crash, you loose that file(s) {censored}.

Best Motherboard For OS X ?

wiki is your best friend http://wiki.osx86project.org/wiki/index.php/HCL_10.5.6
  11. from first post you said you use iATKOS, what version is it? And like I said if you receive "SAM Multimedia..." error means your DVD installer is defective.
  12. I don;t understand, are you get error while booting to DVD or you success install it but when reboot you get error? "SAM Multimedia: Read or Write Failed" means you have error in your drive (dvd installer means it's corrupt, hard drive means you need to chkdsk it).
  13. You'll need a lot of work to do that If you haven't delete your log, try this, type console in spotlight. Look for something say install.log.???.??? (mine is install.log.1.bz2). It's under LOG FILES > var/log Here screenshot of mine show original setup Maybe just maybe if you patience enough to scroll through bottom you'll find all your custom patches.

    iATKOS v7 - ECS X58B-A2

No wonder you don't get answer, you gave too few detail on your hardware. What chipset your mobo has (better if you can provide both North Bridge and South Bridge), If it has Audio (onboard or not, what chipset and model), LAN, PATA/SATA drive controller, etc, etc. In Windows you can look at Device Manager or tools like Everest and cpu-z will show your hardware details. All I can tell you here about your custom installation, seems to me you chose too many than your need. I quoted from Mickey Mouse Guide origin from uphuck forum http://uphuck.ggrn.de/forum/viewtopic.php?f=7&t=4145 You select nvidia gt200 and natit, what is it for? Any particular reason to choose Remove TyMCE kext, Realtek R1000? AGCI? what AGCI? Also I don't see you chose any SATA/IDE driver So I recommend you to post more detail on your hardware, search around forum and in the end you will know what to choose when installing.
  15. If that's the case I'll try version 3 then and report soon. *UPDATE* yes, it works. But only support 64 MB for Graphics Memory. what exactly the problem version 4 doesn't run in iATKOS v7 Does anyone have similar problem at another distro?
