    Asus P5E DSDT fixes

Has anyone tried 10.8.3 on the P5E? Tried a few times to upgrade from 10.8.2 like I normally upgrade but 10.8.3 wouldn't boot. Tried booting with -f and -x. I was going to try a fresh install and see unless someone knows of a possible solution. I forgot during which step it panics if I boot verbose but I can post the boot process once I get home. TIA

    Asus P5E DSDT fixes

Most likely but people will need to post updates. I've had the same sleep problems with 10.7.4 so I reverted back to 10.7.3 for now. In the process of installing 10.8 on a different partition just to try it out but won't be able to use it as primary until someone finds a solution to the sleep issue. Keeping my fingers crossed.

ESXi 5 Mac OS X Unlocker

I think the link he sent me wasn't shared with anyone else so you could add +1 to your count I tried 20+ times and it didn't work. It's possible there might be a conflict with the firewall here at work.

ESXi 5 Mac OS X Unlocker

Donk, I'm currently getting a corrupted zip error when downloading from filedropper. Do you have an alternate mirror? Thanks. Update: I received an alternate link from oegie. No need to post an alternate unless someone else is having issues.

ESXi 5 Mac OS X Unlocker

Thanks so much guys. I'm building a new ESXi 5 server and I was hoping something like Albert's unlocker would be released before I started installing everything. My wish has been realized! Cheers

    Asus P5E DSDT fixes

10.6.8 seems to have fixed some sleep issues with mine that 10.6.7 had introduced. I had to use sleepenabler in 10.6.7 to make it wake from sleep but everything works now (still haven't figured out why). Not sure why you're having issues though. There is an IOUSBFamily.kext mod that fixes some sleep issues. You might want to try it out. I used an older version of this mod on 10.5 to fix my sleep issues before I made my own DSDT. It might be of use to you. http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=239311

    Asus P5E DSDT fixes

I wasn't able to get it to work by replacing the video drivers. Nothing out of the ordinary in system.log either. I've been meaning to make a new DSDT from scratch so this might give me a reason to do so. Update: I was able to get it to work using the SleepEnabler kext for 10.6.7 from this thread. I've never had to use SleepEnabler for sleep before but I don't feel like digging to find exactly why it doesn't work otherwise. This is good enough for me until 10.6.8

Thanks for the tip oldnapalm. I'll give that a try later. I never had any problems on 10.6.6 though so I'll try those drivers and see.

    Asus P5E DSDT fixes

Has anyone here had any problems waking from sleep on 10.6.7? The system will sleep fine but when woken up (from USB KB/mouse or power button), the system will wake but hang with no video out so I couldn't see what was going on. DSDT Chameleon RC5 fakesmc Yukon GbE (dummy kext) (no sleepenabler) I'll be troubleshooting when I get back home tonight. Thanks

    Asus P5E DSDT fixes

Problem has been solved. After reviewing the system logs, it turns out there was another device causing the system to wake, GBEC. I still don't know what this device is but after removing it's _PRW method, all is well. Thanks oldnapalm.

    Asus P5E DSDT fixes

Sorry I forgot to mention this in my initial post. I removed the _PRW method from all my USB devices (USB0, USB1, USB2, USB4, USB5, USB6, EUSB, USBE) and it still didn't solve the problem. I was fully expecting it to work, just like disabling wake from USB in the BIOS I was attempting what is described here.

    Asus P5E DSDT fixes

    I'm having issues with a newly installed USB (internal) multi-card reader. My desktop won't go to sleep anymore if the card reader is connected. If it's not connected, I can sleep and wake from USB mouse/keyboard. If I try to sleep with the reader connected, the machine will appear to sleep (monitors go in sleep mode) and the fans and hard drives shut down for a fraction of a second before the system wakes right back up. I've tried to disable wake from USB entirely from the BIOS and that didn't work, which I found weird. I was hoping somebody might have some insight into this. I think the problem might be related to the built-in hub in the card reader, it has 3 USB ports on top of the 6 card slots. Here is some info that might help: USBE device in DSDT (where the reader is connected): Device (USBE) { Name (_ADR, 0x001A0007) Method (_PRW, 0, NotSerialized) { Return (GPRW (0x0D, 0x04)) } } ioreg with no reader conected: +-o USBE@1A,7 | +-o IOService | +-o AppleUSBEHCI | +-o EHCI Root Hub Simulation@1A,7 | +-o AppleUSBHub | +-o IOUSBInterface@0 ioreg with reader connected: +-o USBE@1A,7 <class IOPCIDevice, id 0x100000185, registered, matche$ | +-o IOService <class IOService, id 0x1000001c2, !registered, !matc$ | +-o AppleUSBEHCI <class AppleUSBEHCI, id 0x1000001c3, registered, $ | +-o EHCI Root Hub Simulation@1A,7 <class IOUSBRootHubDevice, id $ | | +-o AppleUSBHub <class AppleUSBHub, id 0x100000201, registered$ | | +-o IOUSBInterface@0 <class IOUSBInterface, id 0x100000203, !r$ | +-o IOUSBHubDevice@fa200000 <class IOUSBHubDevice, id 0x10000020$ | | +-o AppleUSBHub <class AppleUSBHub, id 0x10000023f, registered$ | | +-o IOUSBInterface@0 <class IOUSBInterface, id 0x100000241, !r$ | +-o USB2.0-CRW@fa210000 <class IOUSBDevice, id 0x100000281, regi$ | +-o IOUSBCompositeDriver <class IOUSBCompositeDriver, id 0x100$ | +-o Bulk-In, Bulk-Out, Interface@0 <class IOUSBInterface, id 0$ | +-o IOUSBMassStorageClass <class IOUSBMassStorageClass, id 0$ | +-o IOSCSILogicalUnitNub@0 <class IOSCSILogicalUnitNub, id$ | | +-o IOSCSIPeripheralDeviceType00 <class IOSCSIPeripheral$ | | +-o IOBlockStorageServices <class IOBlockStorageServic$ | | +-o IOBlockStorageDriver <class IOBlockStorageDriver$ | +-o IOSCSILogicalUnitNub@1 <class IOSCSILogicalUnitNub, id$ | | +-o IOSCSIPeripheralDeviceType00 <class IOSCSIPeripheral$ | | +-o IOBlockStorageServices <class IOBlockStorageServic$ | | +-o IOBlockStorageDriver <class IOBlockStorageDriver$ | +-o IOSCSILogicalUnitNub@2 <class IOSCSILogicalUnitNub, id$ | | +-o IOSCSIPeripheralDeviceType00 <class IOSCSIPeripheral$ | | +-o IOBlockStorageServices <class IOBlockStorageServic$ | | +-o IOBlockStorageDriver <class IOBlockStorageDriver$ | +-o IOSCSILogicalUnitNub@3 <class IOSCSILogicalUnitNub, id$ | | +-o IOSCSIPeripheralDeviceType00 <class IOSCSIPeripheral$ | | +-o IOBlockStorageServices <class IOBlockStorageServic$ | | +-o IOBlockStorageDriver <class IOBlockStorageDriver$ | +-o IOSCSILogicalUnitNub@4 <class IOSCSILogicalUnitNub, id$ | +-o IOSCSIPeripheralDeviceType00 <class IOSCSIPeripheral$ | +-o IOBlockStorageServices <class IOBlockStorageServic$ | +-o IOBlockStorageDriver <class IOBlockStorageDriver$

    Asus P5E DSDT fixes

I'm pretty sure I did at one point or another. As well as changing the \_SB.PWRB, 0x02 strings under the _L0X methods to \_SB.SLPB, 0x02. I've tried a few different variations of fixes but I'll try again anyway...worth a shot. EDIT: Nope, no go. Adding the SLPB device by itself did nothing (normal since it isn't referenced anywhere else in the DSDT) and also while changing the "\_SB.PWRB, 0x02" strings to "\_SB.SLPB, 0x02" as I did previously but that didn't work either.

    Asus P5E DSDT fixes

Thanks for the post. This does solve the issue but introduces another, i can no longer wake from sleep using my USB keyboard/mouse. This might not be critical for everyone but it is for me. For those interested, search for Method (GPRW, 2, NotSerialized) and replace Return (PRWP) a few lines below with: Return (Package (0x02) { Zero, Zero }) I would appreciate it if someone had an edit that could fix my wake-from-usb though. I might just wait until 10.6.4 comes out.

Yeah I already posted in that thread...but no reply to my post. Could I use the kext from the 10.6.4 beta seed in 10.6.3 or should I just wait for the official 10.6.4?
