1. GA-Z68X-UD4-B3 & 10.7

I do not have to double click to get into Lion anymore. Added a Kernal Flag in my Boot.plist. <key>Kernel Flags</key> <string>darkwake=0</string> Which i found from here: http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/index.php...40&start=40 However, my CMOS still crashes after a reset and it takes about 15 seconds for my USBs to become active after waking.
2. GA-Z68X-UD4-B3 & 10.7

Thanks for offer. But I have my EP45-UD3P running Lion as well as Snow Leopard and both OS works perfectly respect from #1-4. Although a second click is required for #3, i can just double click really quickly and don't have to wait 3-5 seconds. Again, thanks for the offer. -David
3. GA-Z68X-UD4-B3 & 10.7

Great researching oSxFr33k, I didn't do as extensive of a research, but I did recently put together a Z68X-UD4-B3 build and noticed the same problems you do. Video card EVGA GTS 250 1GB w/ two Apple 30" Cinema in Dual Link DVI mode. With F6, F7, F8, and F9B bios. I used autoPatcher to get it patch for OSX Lion. Use ##### for audio and network. I had a perfectly working EP45-UD3P system, but wanted more power, so here's what's not working out: 1) USB drives eject themselves when waking. 2) If Waking from Keyboard (apple USB Keyboard), keyboard stops working 3) Waking from Mouse requires a second click which wakes the display; but the double click needs to take about 3-5 seconds after the first one. 4) Can't use my Magic Mouse to wake (using Apple authentic Bluetooth module), this used to work perfectly w/ my EP45-UD3P. Aside from these sleep related issues, I'm very happy with my UD4-B3. Although I wonder if I can get it working 100% if I change my motherboard to an Asus P8Z68 Pro. I've heard it takes a lot of tinkering to get the P8Z68 working, but it actually has the ability to work perfectly this moment, where as I think with the UD4-B3 we need to wait until someone discovers the fix to get sleeping to work properly. I've also tried Windows 7 and it sleeps and wakes perfectly.
4. Excellent Guide! I can't wait to get this project rolling (mini project). What model bluetooth module are you using? Do you know what other models work? Looking on ebay, sellers do not put what year/macbook model the cards come from. Also, some don't come with the logic board cable; do you know if they are a one size fit all type? Thanks!
5. Time to get a new video card. Thanks for the motivational push. I'm thinking a GTX 260 with dual DVI outputs. Anyone objections? How about the GTX 285?
6. DSDT Auto-Patcher

Sorry, MaLd0n I don't know what you mean. I know my board is a 889A soundcard that's built in to my Gigabyte UD3P. Are there several codecs floating around and only the right one will work for mine? I thought the Gigabyte audio patcher took care of finding the correct codec for me. However, after I get the patched dsdt file, do I need to use it in conjunction with a KEXT or anything else? Because I still can't get sound to work Thanks,
7. DSDT Auto-Patcher

Hi MaLd0n, Okay, I'm back on to this once again. I successfully patched the DSDT file with the HDEF. rebooted but no luck, do I need to have any KEXT or other settings? I tried this on a brand new fresh install (auto updated to 10.6.7). Would love to get audio and have a 100% working hack BTW: USB audio works fine, but I'm a tinker...... we all are....
8. DSDT Auto-Patcher

I wish I knew... How about I attach the DSDT file from the Gigabyte Audio extractor? I am not sure how to combine both the DSDT from the Auto-Pather and the DSDT from the Gigabyte Audio Extractor. Can I use two DSDT at the same time? Thanks
9. DSDT Auto-Patcher

Thanks for all your help, I tried what you suggested, but no luck. I went ahead and order my USB soundcard. But just want to "tinker" with thinks so, I try to extra my soundcard codec (as per link above), and don't know how to apply it now as I have two dsdt.aml files. One from the motherboard, and one from the built in soundcard. How do I combine them? Thanks.
10. DSDT Auto-Patcher

Thanks for checking out my configuration, I will try it tonight.... If sounds still does not work, I'm going to just get a USB sound card. Regards to the video card: My apologies for asking a question that could be answer by searching. Although I've tried it extensively before asking. I will try again, sorry.
11. DSDT Auto-Patcher

Hi MaLd0n, Thanks for checking it out for me. Here are my files. UD3P_889A_notworking.zip Oh since you're looking into this for me, could you do me an extra favor and see why my nVidia GTS250 1GB Dual DVI ports doesn't work fully? It's setup for Graphics enabler and loads perfect when I have one monitor, but when I put two monitor it sends me to a blank screen when OSX comes to the desktop. When I hot plug in the second monitor, my OSX freezes. Thanks!
12. Lifehacker Guide with GA-EP45-UD3P Motherboard

D-an-W; Do you mind sharing the files you use for your install? I'm doing the exact same thing you are (Black OS X guides), but not getting much luck with the sounds. Thanks
13. DSDT Auto-Patcher

Awesome! It worked to resolve my CPU temperature issue. However, no luck with the sound for the ALC889A. Any ideas? I might give up and just get a USB native sound card Thanks, David
14. Nice info "cheapo" I'd also like to make a note on these guides. THEY ARE GREAT! One small detail that I felt was essential was that you forgot to mention on PART I that Windows 7 partition needs to be the first or second partition; no other partition works (if you are planning to dual boot). I know you mentioned this in Part 9; but I didn't read it until I was done installing my system Awesome work you have put together! Thanks!
15. DSDT Auto-Patcher

Thanks, I haven't used the Auto-Patcher before. I hope I can get it to work right. I appreciate your quick response and help; you are an essential asset to these forums. Quick question; in the com.apple.Boot.plist you sent me I noticed the lack of DropSSDT=Yes. I'm not quiet sure of what that does; but I hope that'll take care of some temperature problem I'm having too. I was getting typical 37 Deg C idle temp on my all my CPU cores running on 10.5.8, now it's about 45 Deg C average idle temp on 10.6.7. I will try your instructions tonight when I get home, hopefully it'll make my hack nice and smooth again. Thank you so much!
