  1. Sound Blaster X-Fi Surround 5.1 (USB!)

I, too, have this sound card, and it does work, but I only use 2 channel output and 16bit/48000hz output in Audio Midi---going into 24bit mode seems to choke the USB 1.1 connection....to the best of my knowledge this card will NOT use 2.0 like it does in Windows, as System Profiler lists it as connected to the regular, not the "High Speed" USB bus. So, bear this in mind. This was using 10.7.2 lion with a P55 mobo---the GB P55-UD3L 1.0 with F7 BIOS. The onboard sound analog out is {censored}, which is why I use the X-FI USB.
  2. Flash Hackintosh?

I dont see anywhere this has been asked, so.... I have a hackintosh desktop with SL 10.6.4 and a 9500GT, which of course is not one of the official GPUs that Apple allows Flash 10.1 to take advantage of (9400M, GT220/230 are the only ones IIRC). Just wondering if I went out and replaced this card with a 9400 or GT220/230 (desktop cards, obviously), whether or not I could get GPU flash acceleration working? Has anybody tried this yet? Thanks in advance.
  3. The NVIDIA 9500GT Thread

I'm almost ready to declare this some sort of limitation of OSX, but maybe somebody here knows what the issue is. After *finally* getting mirror mode to work on my 9500GT/SL 10.6.3 Hackintosh using nvenabler, I noticed that one of the two screens had a 'screen tearing' effect, i.e. like playing a PC game with V-sync off. The odd thing is that its device-independent; whichever of the 2 displays is connected to the 2nd connector on the vidcard will have this tearing issue, while the monitor on the first is sync'd fine. This only occurs in mirror mode; in extended desktop both screens are sync'd fine. It also seems to be connection independent: Either using DVI or VGA, the 2nd connector monitor will always have screen tearing in mirror mode. Both screens are 1920x1080 native, both are set to 60hz and I have no problem mirroring them in Win7. Oh, and this is apparently not just a hackintosh issue: the same thing happens on my Powermac G5 Quad with a 6600 in Leopard 10.5.8 with mirror mode and the same displays. Anybody experience this issue and/or know of a fix? Thanks in advance.
  4. The NVIDIA 9500GT Thread

I found the easiest method was to install nvenabler, although I felt like banging my head against the wall when I stupidly installed the 64 bit version whilst running the 32bit kernel. Fixed!
  5. 9500GT, nvenabler, 10.6.3, always keeps the settings. I even use two monitors in mirror mode, and it works fine.
  6. This one works: http://www.sparkle.com.tw/product_detail.a...&sub_id=353 You need the nvenabler kext, and mirroring works. Before you go out and buy a new vidcard, try installing nvenabler if you havent already (i used the 32-bit one, not the 64). I had the same problem as you with the black screen in mirror mode, and this solved it. http://www.projectosx.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=370
  7. Damn...oh well, I sent $1 to osxcores.site50.net site also, so hopefully he still is doing it.
  8. Hi, looking for a patched bios for a Biostar P43 mobo...strangely enough, it works fine when I disable the "multi-core processing" option in the BIOS....according to OSX, however, it is using only 2 of the 4 cores. This is WITH iATKOS v7 (just released), and the APIC fix. I do not need to do the cpus=1 in startup if I disable the BIOS "multi-core processing" option as mentioned above, but I would like to use all 4 cores on my Q6600. Thanks! Biostar TP43D2-A7 v6 (Intel P43) Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600 8GB Kingston HyperX DDR2-800 evga nVidia GTX280 1024MB (iATKOS v7 actually includes WORKING drivers for GTX2xx!!) Realtek ALC662 audio 2 IDE Hard drives, 1 SATA Blu-Ray burner, 1 SATA Hard disk Heres the link to the BIOS, its not a *direct* download, but as soon as you enter/click this link, it will download the correct file. http://www.biostar-usa.com/app/en-us/biosdl.php?BID=1342 If you need it as a DIRECT download, i uploaded it to fileden as well: http://www.fileden.com/files/2009/6/25/2488495/P43AA518.BST Thanks a bunch!
