1. I am using OS X Lion 10.7.3 (Build 11D36) And I have had little to no problems, I may have to delete AppHDA but that's just a precaution, I may not even need to (See specs in signature) But what are your problems? Everyone wants a clean and as mac experience when it comes to upgrades and updates some of us are fortunate or cautionary enough to have a Mac'esque PC, I am one of those fortunate... But chances are if you are responding to this you are not, So why am I posting this I want to make something similar but more functional and more workable from of what you would call the wiki, I want as many solutions and processes as possible to all kinds of configs and not have as much fragmentation as the OSx86 wiki has, what kexts did you use or have to use what works and what doesn't on what build of OS X etc etc, as much detail as possible put into a clean and easy to navigate area making sure the info isn't limited Not only that but A sort of FAQ center where common questions can be answered simply "does the broadcom 4313 work?" A"No, There is a script that says it will work but it hasn't since 10.5.4 Leopard" Not only that but everywhere and I want all this info in replies So who's game?

does AR9002WB can work at mac10.6.6

Hey, I am planning on getting this card... "Atheros AR9285 AR5B195 WLAN Wireless BT BlueTooth Half Card" and when I searched for it's compatibility I was unsure of how Compatible I would get I have a Toshiba satellite a660 with a Broadcom 4313 (4727); Runnning OS X Lion 10.7.2 so how well does this work (I have the toshiba bluetooth kext which enables the bluetooth either in the broadcom 4313 or if it has it's own chip I have no idea.. Not sure how significant this is to you) Anyway can you give me details about compatibility and how I can get it to work if it needs any work at all? Presumptuous thanks.

RTL8101E/RTL8102E Ethernet and others...

The thing about Wi-Fi is that I can't be bothered opening up the laptop then replacing it and then if necessary Flash the bios to allow said card to run, and then if that's, and that's if one of those cards fit I don't even have a screw driver on my person I have found a small USB realtek 8188cus card so that should be good enough although I love the Airport integration If you can give me a definite on both how I can and if I can I will do it XDD the last time I did it I accidentally got the wrong Wi-Fi card

RTL8101E/RTL8102E Ethernet and others...

The wake? you mean after sleep?. Yeah I don't care much for sleep I don't put the HackBook to sleep ever not Do I want to or have the need to XDD I think I may have fixed it using the Lion build from the realtek site All that really matters to me much now is the Wi-Fi and the Card reader But if something goes on I'll reply
9. Hardware info screenshot: I wouldn't mind getting this Going, even in limited function, Although I mainly use 64 bit kernel, I can make the 64 bit sacrifice
10. So Like most of us, I have a functioning Synaptic's touchpad 7.4, But on the other hand it only has 2 finger scrolling and 2 finger tap, But I would Love and appreciate the ability to fully utilise all of OS X's Gestured potential Is there any development on this? and if so how far are we on it? And if not, can we?.
11. RTL8101E/RTL8102E PCI Express Fast Ethernet controller - Full name OS= OS X Lion 10.7.2 I have installed the Realtek given drivers (RTG 2.0.6) the problem With it is the annoying need to boot twice (boot only to find ethernet is not loaded, so reboot and it works all of a sudden.) This a minor annoyance. But like many people I want to have everything working, So is there a way to fix this problem. Third party Kext? Chameleon flag? anything? Toshiba A660 What works. - Intel Core i5 450M - nVidia GT330M + HDMI + VGA - Matshibi Blu-Ray reader - Bluetooth (Toshiba bluetooth kext 64 bit) (Broadcom askey bluetooth module) - Chicony Built in Webcam, Using Anyisightcam.kext to see as built-in iSight - 8GB of SD RAM - Realtek ALC262/269 VoodooHDA - USB ports What doesn't. - JMicron SD card reader, Got a solution? - TV tuner, it is seen in System profiler but I don't know how to utilize it OS X, Got a solution? - Built-in Display, It works.... But no brightness control or real name or good default colour profile, Got a solution? - Broadcom 4313 A/B/G/N Wi-Fi, Tried everything I could find, Got a solution? - The mic in VoodooHDA works, But I get a noticeable input problem I have to put it down to 1% but even then it has very high, even too high input, Got a solution (I use VoodooHDA 0.2.2 with no preference pane, all others Don't work) Thanks
12. Thanks to everyone who responded with fixes for other situations, I was running of my situation where I had already set my boot to usekernelcache=yes in 10.7.1 so I did not see this as a problem, although I should have checked it out.
13. So yesterday Apple released the 10.7.2 update for Lion, Here are the changelogs: ”The 10.7.2 update is recommended for all OS X Lion users and includes general operating system fixes that improve the stability, compatibility, and security of your Mac. It also includes support for iCloud, a breakthrough set of free cloud services that automatically and wirelessly store your content on iCloud and push it to all of your devices. iCloud on OS X Lion includes the following features: iCloud stores your email, calendars, contacts, Safari bookmarks, and Safari Reading List and automatically pushes them to all your devices. Back to My Mac provides remote access to your Mac from another Mac anywhere on the Internet. Find My Mac helps find a missing Mac by locating it on a map and allows you to remotely lock the Mac or wipe all its data. Getting started with iCloud is easy. After installing the update, OS X will automatically present an iCloud setup panel. Simply enter an existing Apple ID or create a new one and then follow the on screen instructions. To learn more about iCloud visit http://www.apple.com/icloud. The 10.7.2 update also includes Safari 5.1.1 as well as fixes that: Allow reordering of desktop spaces and full screen apps in Mission Control. Enable dragging files between desktop spaces and full screen apps. Address an issue that causes the menu bar to not appear in full screen apps. Improve the compatibility of Google contact syncing in Address Book. Address an issue that causes Keynote to become temporarily unresponsive. Improve VoiceOver compatibility with Launchpad. Address an issue that causes a delay in accessing the network after waking from sleep. Enable booting in to Lion Recovery from a locally attached Time Machine backup drive. Resolve an issue that causes screen zoom to stop working. Improve Active Directory integration.” Included is the Safari 5.1.1 Update: Safari 5.1.1 also contains various fixes and improvements to performance, stability, usability, compatibility, accessibility and security, including fixes that: Improve JavaScript performance up to 13% over Safari 5.1* Address issues that could cause hangs and excessive memory usage Improve stability when using Find, dragging tabs, and managing extensions Improve stability for netflix.com and other websites that use the Silverlight plug-in Add a Show Downloads item to the View menu Improve the consistency of the pinch to zoom gesture Address issues in full screen that affected search suggestions, URL updating, window sizing, and the title bar Address an issue that could prevent East Asian character input into webpages with Flash content Address an issue that could cause Safari to open links in windows instead of tabs Improve PDF handling Address an issue that could affect cookie and data deletion Address an issue that could cause History items to appear incorrectly Correct the text in application download alerts Improve compatibility with webpages with Flash video embedded from vimeo.com and other websites Improve printing from Safari Address an issue that could prevent the Google Safe Browsing Service from updating So nice updates, but as Hackintosh users we do have to tap dance a little some updates require more dexterity than others, Luckily enough this is not one of them almost completely Seamless. So on with the how to. If you saw the update because Apple’s software update app just appeared out of nowhere and having had already downloaded (download updates automatically but notify to install option in the pref pane) then you don’t really need to spend the time or bandwidth downloading the Combo or delta update pkg, Don’t click install yet because you’d be better off running the updates standalone installer. If not Here are links to the insatllers: http://support.apple.com/kb/DL1458'>http://support.apple.com/kb/DL1458 (Client) http://support.apple.com/kb/DL1458 (Combo) In preparation we are first going to back up extensions and other essentials and most importantly if you have sleepenabler.kext installed DELETE IT NOW better safe than sorry. So open a finder window and use the Go to folder shortcut “Command G” and type “/System/Library/” and copy the extensions folder to the desktop after deleting sleepenabler.kext from said folder. if necessary backup other essentials such as the proprietary replacements for system installed files like a modded trackpad.prefpane etc. Since ##### does not have a 10.7.2 version of it’s post installer pkg we will be working with the ones backed up from the extensions folder and if it would help from a easy access point of view also copy the kexts that will definitely be reinstalled to a separate folder on the desktop (I did this), I copied the update installer from “/Library/Updates/” and the pkg will be in one of those folders. Now run the installer and once it is installed DO NOT RESTART, instead use force quit to exit the installer if you don’t want it in the way. So installers done what now? well now we open either the copied extensions and/or needed extensions folders, for those who have that battery problem and having already fixed it, you will definitely want to reinstall the appleacpiplatform.kext that was used in the solution and VoodooHDA users will want to remove the Apple audio drivers or for those using modified copies of apple audio kexts reinstall using the backups any kexts that were used to fix a problem which will be replaced by the installers. So we have installed the update and put back that which was overwritten, you may now reboot (but for stability and other reason you may either want to read on or print out this post). Ok you rebooted but there were problems? such as instant kernel panic or voodoohda based kernel panic, Easy Just boot with these boot flags “-v -f” that will fix that. Infact you may want to add it to your chameleon boot configuration using either: - Lizard: http://darwinx86.net/software/darwinx86_software.html - Chameleon Preference Pane: http://forge.voodooprojects.org/p/chameleo...Pane/bin/OSX106 (any other boot up or other problems considering installation process comment) Happy so far? won’t be very soon. You will inevitably attempt to use iCloud this is where depending on your temper and patience capability you may become pissed, but there is a simple solution A boot loader update And a Network configuration reset The boot loader is the new Chameleon Revision 2.1 from Kexts.com with the iCloud and Facetime fix over here: http://www.kexts.com/view/1941-chameleon_2.1_r1627vs_[icloud__facetime_fix].html so one you have downloaded that mount the image and run the installer Don’t reboot. Now using the go to keyboard shortcut I mentioned earlier (Command+G) type “/Library/Preferences/SystemConfiguration/” And delete the following files com.apple.network.identification.plist NetworkInterfaces.plist Now reboot. Any other issues, requests and/or suggestions etc Comment below

OSX on toshiba a660 166

Hi I have a almost Identicle system the Cpu will only work with cpus=1 so you will only get 1 core, so no use of 4 cores and 8 threads (looking for a fix) with the GPU don't install NV enabler or anything, It will work out of the box, if you install nvenabler you will not be able to use HDMI or VGA outputs Blu ray works out of the box with iatkos l1 (os x 10.7.1) if the Wi-Fi and Bluetooth are 4313, You are not in lick unless you find a fix in which case send it my way XD so when you install use these flags "cpus=1 graphicsenabler=yes"
15. Hi I have a Toshiba Satellite a660 Laptop: CPU: Core i5 450M Quad Core (4 cores, 8 threads) GPU: nVidia GT 330M (HDMI/VGA/Laptop Display) = Works RAM: 8GB DDR3 1066MHz (2x4GB) = Works Ethernet: RTL8101E/RTL8102E PCI Express Fast Ethernet controller = Works Wi-Fi: BCM4313 802.11b/g LP-PHY = Does not work (got a solution post it with your reply) Card Reader: JMicron, SD/MMC Host Controller/xD Host/ ControllerMS Host ControllerStandard SD Host Controller = Does not work ((got a solution post it with your reply) Bluetooth: see Wi-Fi Disc tray: Blu-Ray reader = Works USB: 4x USB 2.0 ports with eSata = Works, have not tested eSata though TV tuner: YUAN High-Tech Development dvt-b = works or not don't know need software for it Webcam:Chicony Electronics built in = works OS: Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit, iAtkos L1 So anyway I have a Core i5 450M, and I can only boot with the cpus=1 boot flag so I only get 1 Core out 4 and 8 threads Is there a fix for this such as a custom kernel or a certain Kext or removal of certain Kext or generally a new boot loader Edit: I removed NullCPUPowerManagement.kext but I didn't check before I did it but turns out when I put in cpus=1 I see this in System Information: "Processor Name: Intel Core i5 Processor Speed: 2.39 GHz Number of Processors: 1 Total Number of Cores: 2 L2 Cache: 128 KB L3 Cache: 768 KB" So that's two cores and less than the full amount of l2 and l3 cache I would really appreciatte getting the system working to full and if not full at least the most possible missing my wireless most off all but I figured theres gotta be a solution for the CPU Edit: Still 2 cores is being seen as 1 (not allowing me to show an average for multiple cores/processors as single display
