    Apple Bluetooth Keyboard

Just wanted to let everyone know that my keyboard started working once I reloaded the OS. PITA but it worked... I still don;t know what was wrong with it.
  3. Hi Everyone, I recently reloaded Leopard (10.5.5) on my hackentosh. It seems to be working most of the time however about every other reboot it hangs on start up (log below). The only way I have found to get around this is to boot -v -x. Once I am in to the Finder I run the following tests from the OSX86 tools app Repair Permissions, Set Extensions Permissions, Clear Extensions Cache, Clear User Application Cache, Clean System App Chache, Run CRON Maint. Scrpts, Update Prebinding, and Touch Extensions Folder. After these scripts have run I usually am able start up once in normal mode. However, one restart later without running the maint scripts I hang. Process: kextload [2844] Path: /sbin/kextload Identifier: kextload Version: ??? (???) Apple Bluetooth Keyboard

I am glad I found this thread! Add me to the list of folks who are having this problem. I have 10.5.6 vanilla install w/ many 10.5.5 extensions - long story. Basically my keyboard worked for months and then all of a sudden it stopped working a few days after the 10.5.6 update. I have pretty much tried everything: *reinstalled the 10.5.6 update from the combo update/ first update came through system *deleted the following files: **com.apple.Bluetooth.plist **/Users/YOUR-ACCOUNT/Library/Preferences/ByHost/ any bluetooth references in here. *Updated/downgraded to 10.5.5 versions of: AppleADBButtons.kext, AppleADBKeyboard.kext, *strange thing is once I get through the pin process I see that the keyboard shows up in the bluetooth control panel for about 5 seconds. But for whatever reason we are not able to complete the pairing process! something fails and then I get the error that the keyboard does not pair and its removed from the BT control panel. Have you guys seen this at all? * I've repaired permissions, cleared caches *I took the keyboard over to my MBP and it paried in a second! Looks like some other folks are having this issue [apple.com]. Oh yah, and I am using this BT dongle: IOGEAR GBU221

    netflix streaming beta for mac

OKay so here is how I got it working on my system. I have a shuttle setup with a Q660 installed via the vanilla install. 1. First thing first the standard silverlight installer didn't work for me so I used this one (linked earlier in this post) by theTITUS. Prior to this I used pacificst and pulled the plugin out and dropped it in the proper spot... everytime I went to nextflix firefox crashed. Installing via the linked installer got me past the crash but I got the 8152 error. 2. I noticed that I was getting the same UUID error 2008-11-04 18:21:06.905 system_profiler[894:c0b] _CFGetHostUUIDString: unable to determine UUID for host. Error: 35 I fixed this error by going here and following these instructions: I restarted and now I don't get the UUID error and now my netflix works! Thanks dudes!
  6. I figured it out. Just hit F8 a ton right after the BIOS loads and you will be presented with the Darwin bootloader.
  7. Hey guys, I started messing around with this install last night. I am stuck at the Spinning Apple. I can't seem to figure out how to boot up in Verbose mode with this install method. In a Kally installer you are given a few seconds to chose your boot drive as well as enter any kind of bootup commands. With this install method my machine goes right to the spinning apple. On a real mac you can press apple V for Verbose mode but I could not get that to work. I am sure this is super simple. Thanks in advance.
  8. This looks like this is my issue. I tried reinstalling the nvinject and it didn't help...
  9. Okay guys, I have a bit more info that might narrow this down. I remotely connected to my machine with screen sharing and I noticed that I did not have the zoom issue. So it looks like the zoom problem is directly related to the physically connected display. This leads me to think that there may be an issue with the video driver? I am using a ASUS 7200GS video card with nvInject. Is it crazy to think that this zoom issue has to do with nvInject? Tell if there is a configuration file I need to look that might be related to the zoom out problem... I was also thinking about reinstalling nvinject but I am not totally sure how to go about doing this. Any help would be great. Thanks.
  10. Sup everyone, My hackentosh was working pretty flawlessly until this week. I have my machine hooked up to a 42" TV @1080P and use the zoom function quite a bit for reading small text on websites ect. For whatever reason I can't get the OS to zoom out past ~70% ( in other words, the OS is always zoomed in about 30%). I have tried restarting, shutting down, creating a new account, going into the usability control panel. Nothing works! I am still zoomed in about 30%. I tried changing the resolution and that worked. I am now able to see my full desktop, but I am 1024x768... Any higher resolution i am automatically zoomed in about 30%! Super strange. My guess is that this zoom data has to be stored in a plist or some other config file (maybe the finder's?). Anyone have any ideas? This {censored} is killing me! Thanks in advance!, L3P
  11. Thanks for the detailed steps. Unfortunately the restart issues has not been resolved. Post patches my machine is having issues with shutdown again. Do you or anyone else happen to know anything about an un-install for the shutdown patch? Any other shuttle users out there having issues with shutdown or restart? Thanks
  12. Hey Zapp, Can you walk me through how you used CHUD? I can't seem to figure out what is needed to fix the restart issue. Thanks, L3P
  13. Zapp, thanks buddy! That fixed it. There is a setting in the BIOS that was set, by default, to (EDIT:) halt on all errors. I turned this off and now I am not having any issues with a keyboard not being present during startup. I am still having issues with restart. OSX looks like it shuts down, closes all the apps, the doc quits and then the monitor shuts off. After that the the system just hangs the fans are running and the LEDs stay on. Only way to get out of this is to press the restart button on the front of the machine. Any ideas on this??? Thanks, L3P
  14. So the hardware came this weekend and everything went together pretty quick. I installed with Kalyway 10.5.2 - vanilla kernel, Time machine fix, generic PC USB (don't know if I needed it but I took it anyways) and most of the other default driver/patch selections.... Once this guy was all put together and all the kinks worked out I rocked a Geekbench score of 4702 roughly 5.8X faster than my G4 Mac Mini!!! I have everything working except the restart function. Read below for detials on everything! So this goes for anyone who may build one of these guys down the road. Works out of the box: DVD/ CD SATA, SAMSUNG|SH-S203N* Hard drive, 750G| SATA2 ST3750640AS* - be sure to remove the jumper to unlock SATA2 compatibility Bluetooth AZIO|BTD603 - USB - It took a few restarts for OSX to pick this up, but I haven't had any issues since. I am using the apple BT keyboard. Intel Q6600 2.4G - recognized as "2.39Ghz Unknown"... does not report core temperatures to OSX. 4GB of PQI Ram LAN Logitech MX Revolution (wireless USB mouse). Be sure to install logitech control center to program all of the buttons. *Several places that stated you MUST use SATA drives for this setup or the OSX installer disk will not work properly. I haven't tested this, just wanted to pass the note along. Components that needed to be patched: Audio Realtek ALC888 TRENDNET|TEW-623PI hardware v2.0 (need Ralink drivers) UPDATE: USB WiFi B/G/N ASUS EN7200GS|256M (needs nvinject 256) Manta TR1 (USB-IR) - won't work unless you use sofa control or Mira.Only annoying thing about the TR1 is that there is this red LED that lights up anytime it receives an IR command. I'm thinking about putting a little tape over it. Anyone know how to turn the LED off? For sleep to work adjust the following settings in the BIOS: In the power management area: ACPI Suspend Type [s3(STR)] Run VGABIOS if S3 resume [NO] I haven't tested FireWire or the optical audio add-on. I have seen a few options for optical output so my guess is that the system will rock audio out on the optical port... I just don't have the equipment to test this at the moment. I updated to 10.5.3 via the Kalyway combo update. This messed up the nvida card as I lost QE/CI. Luckily, there is a pretty easy fix out there that worked perfectly.. Initially I had issues with the shutdown and restart functions. After I repaired the permissions shutdown worked perfectly. Strange enough I am still having problems with the restart function. Anyone have any ideas on possible solutions? The other annoyance with this setup is that the BIOS requires that a USB (or I am assuming PS2) keyboard be installed before it will boot up. Is there any way around this? I was thinking about getting a cheap keyboard and plugging it in and hiding it behind my home theater equipment. This would be a pretty ugly hack but I am pretty sure it would work.
