    [HowTo] Mobility X300; QE/CL w/ Widescreen

I used the walkthrough from this post: http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/index.php...st&p=332148 It includes all the files you should need. I have actually since discovered that I can achieve 1400x1050 without adding or modifying any files. I just entered "Graphics Mode"="1400x1050x32" into the com.apple.Boot.plist file, or type it at the bootloader screen. Still trying to achieve widescreen resolution however. No luck yet.
  2. Hello InsanelyMac users. I'm running iAtkos v7 and I'm trying to figure out how to get the OS to properly recognize my external LCD monitor. I'm using a Dell Latitude D610 with an ATI Mobility X300 graphics card. I installed the Callisto drivers and it added the laptop's native resolution of 1400x1050 but what I'm trying to do is achieve the 1440x900 native resolution of the external monitor I'm hooking up to. It seems that the problem is the monitor is not being detected properly by the OS. It's being detected to the extent that I get a picture on it but it's basically mirroring the laptop's resolution of 1400x1050 instead of acquiring it's own native resolution, which leads to a stretched, blurry image. What needs to be done so that the Display Preferences pane detects that I have a second display attached? I tried adding my monitor's hex code to the Info.plist file in the Callisto.kext file such as in omni's how-to but that didn't change anything. At the very least, is there a way to have the screen "letterbox" and display black bars on the side? I'd much prefer that to the stretched image I currently have. I've searched endlessly for a solution to this before creating this thread. Any help would be appreciated. Specs: iAtkos v7 (experienced same issue with iAtkos 5i) Dell Latitude D610 ATI Radeon Mobility X300 Intel Pentium M 1.86GHz processor 14.1" SXGA+ laptop display (1400x1050) 19" Hanns-G HW191A WSXGA external display (1440x900)

    [HowTo] Mobility X300; QE/CL w/ Widescreen

I followed a similar tutorial and it worked however I don't have any widescreen resolutions. I do have 1280x1024 and 1400x1050. The laptop I'm using does not have a widescreen monitor but the external monitor I hook it up to is widescreen. Is there any way to manually add widescreen resolutions? I tried forcing 1440x900 and 1280x800 with boot flags but it just results in a 1024x768 resolution. Anyone know if there's a way to add the widescreen resolution or is it really dependent on the type of laptop screen I have?

    ATI Radeon x300 Mobility

I know this thread is a couple years old but this might help someone. Firstly, thank you Daemian, your tutorial for getting this driver installed worked perfectly. I ended up with the same result as you though, the distortion as seen below. I found that forcing my max resolution at boot (for me, 1400x1050) fixed this problem as well as improved overall graphics performance. I used "Graphics Mode"="1400x1050x32" as a boot option and this problem went away. No graphical glitches at all and animations are much smoother. Using iAtkos 5i on a Dell Latitude D610. As a side note, if anyone knows how to obtain the 1440x900 resolution for this card that would be appreciated. My laptop doesn't support this resolution but the monitor I hook it up to does.
