1. I'm having a terrible time getting my system to run without NullCPUPowerMgmt. First off, my hardware: GA-X58A-UD3R v2.0 FA Intel Core i7-930 @ 2.8 4GB Corsair 1066 DDR3 Nvidia 9800GT /512 {external sound} MBOX2 USB (working) Alesis Multimix USB (working) OS: OSX 10.6.4 I have followed the steps in #####; (user DSDT.aml (from post #33, link above (thanks nullspot)), system utilities (both), nvidia enabler, MacPro smbios Core i7, No themes, no additional OSx86 software (already installed)) I even did the Cakewalk Boot for the x58a-ud3r (didn't try the X58A-UD5R) I went back through post #33 and saw that I had forgotten to remove the built-in networking in com.apple.Boot.plist. Any help would be appreciated. Here is my com.apple.Boot.plist <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?> <!DOCTYPE plist PUBLIC "-//Apple//DTD PLIST 1.0//EN" "http://www.apple.com/DTDs/PropertyList-1.0.dtd">'>http://www.apple.com/DTDs/PropertyList-1.0.dtd"> <plist version="1.0"> <dict> <key>Kernel</key> <string>mach_kernel</string> <key>Kernel Flags</key> <string>arch=x86_64</string> <key>GraphicsEnabler</key> <string>Yes</string> <key>Timeout</key> <string>1</string> <key>Legacy Logo</key> <string>Yes</string> <key>DSDT</key> <string>hd(0,1)/Extra/DSDT.aml</string> <key>DropSSDT</key> <string>yes</string> <key>Boot Banner</key> <string>No</string> </dict> </plist> Here is my SMBios.plist <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?> <!DOCTYPE plist PUBLIC "-//Apple//DTD PLIST 1.0//EN" "http://www.apple.com/DTDs/PropertyList-1.0.dtd"> <plist version="1.0"> <dict> <key>SMbiosvendor</key> <string>Apple Inc.</string> <key>SMbiosversion</key> <string>#####.tonymacx86.com</string> <key>SMboardmanufacturer</key> <string>Apple Computer, Inc.</string> <key>SMboardproduct</key> <string>Mac-F2268DAE</string> <key>SMfamily</key> <string>Mac Pro</string> <key>SMmanufacturer</key> <string>Apple Inc.</string> <key>SMproductname</key> <string>MacPro4,1</string> <key>SMserial</key> <string>SNRemovedForThisPost</string> <key>SMsystemversion</key> <string>1.0</string> <key>SMUUID</key> <string>C0CE2600-93D7-3B41-843A-4D7C8E2C12E2</string> </dict> </plist> These files are in my /E/E folder: Fakesmc.kext (modded for MacPro4,1) IOACHIBlockStorageInjector.kext JMicronATA.kext NVEnabler 64.kext I even compiled my own DSDT.aml file. No errors, no warnings. 818 optimizations. but still no boot without HPET error on CPU 7 (CPU 2 call) I have booted with CPUS=1, but I get the same error. HELP! thanks Solved my own problem... The permissions were not getting set on my DSDT.aml file. I set them manually and was able to reboot without #####.
2. Anyone run Pro Tools on a Hackintosh?

I have a EP45T-UD3LR QuadCore 6600 running at 2.4. I am running Retail OS X 10.6.1. Pro Tools 8.0.3pr. (Mbox 2 was not seen in the audio until I installed the PreRelease) I had to uninstall, and reinstall without CoreAudio. Mbox 2 drivers work perfectly. All plugins, plus my VST from Fender's Amplitude 1.0 as a plugin. Works Great now. My HP G70 Laptop with iATKOS v.7 runs 8.0 right out of the box. Sweet application. Love the keyboards, guitar amps, and the built in drum machines. TR707, TR808, TR909, and more. Plus Torq LE (DJ app) which I haven't checked out. Black Friday was good to me. (Mbox 2, Nova Mic, M-audio 410 Powered Speakers, and PT8 for $425.00 Retail)
3. Upgrading from 10.5.7?

I tried that with my copy. it started to install, then the screen went gray saying I needed to hold the power button... I tried several times to get my 'Vanilla' iDeneb 10.5.7 (upgraded with Apple update to 10.5.8) to work by just 'poping in the DVD'. Has anyone been able to use this method?
