  1. Hey everyone. Been running 10.8.3 just fine now for quite some time. I was going along doing my thing when suddenly photoshop quits, then a bunch of non-system apps (not all) revert to the default app icon below. Strange thing is all the application files are still there, the apps just wont open. I reinstalled chrome and which asked me to "replace" the application, which I did, and then it opened fine. Anyoneever heard of this? Btw, I did a bunch of system scans and had no issues with any of my drives (besides one of the dead of the aray)
  2. Installing MAC OS X ML on XPS 14 Ultrabook[HELP Required]

can we please keep this thread going?? I still have this lovely lappy from years ago that i got SL working on like a champ. We have some Mountain Lion success here? Can people try and make a habit of posting DSDT and plist files? I think it would really help out progress.
  3. 1440z - OSX Lion? (specs provided)

So I have been out of the OSX86 scene for quite some time. I originally had leopard (or snow leopard) installed on this laptop and had it running pretty good. Wifi, Sleep, graphics, and speedstepping (if i'm not mistaken) I was wondering if it was possible to get LION running on this old gal. Any recommendations for distros or retail? Here are my system specs: -- Studio 14z - 1440 Laptop -- Processor: Intel Core 2 Duo Processor T6600 (2.2GHz/800Mhz FSB/2MB cache) -- NVIDIA GeForce 9400M G -- Dell 1397 802.11B/G Wireless Mini Card -- 3 GB DDR3 SDRAM 1066MHz
  4. Finally got my 14z laptop and started messing around with it. Got OSX installed ok and then installed Chameleon. After installation i get a chameleon installation error but upon restart the GUI is there. Unfortunately after a restart I can not get the system to boot. Others have had this problem. The system can't seem to find the HD (i get the circle with line through it when booting) the only way to get back into OSX is to boot from the USB stick which contains OSX and EmpireEFI. i have tried dropping in the ioahciblockstorageinjector.kext or other AHCI kexts in the package in this thread and still can't seem to get the system to boot. I will mention that the BIOS is on version A01. any thoughts? UPDATE: The main issue with the comp not recognizing the HD was the boot loader. I redid my installation using myHack and all went perfectly, no issues. I do not have multi-touch trackpad support, but no big deal. Also i noticed the sound popping other people had mentioned. i had this same issue on my desktop. The solution was to edit the smbios.plist (if it does not exist, make one) and set the system model to Mac Pro 3.1 (system default was Mac Pro 4.1). i made this change and have not heard a pop in over 2 hours. just another option for people who may be frustrated.
  5. [How to] Asus P5K-VM guide

I am having the same problem. dropping the voodoopstate.kext into S/L/E gives me the same error. running 10.6.3 in 32 bit mode, not sure whats happening.
  6. DSDT fixes for Gigabyte boards

Hey all. GA-P35-DS3 here. Intel Core 2 Duo E6750. I am trying to get speed stepping working on my 10.6.3 Snow Leopard install. attached are the ssdt files that i exported from vista of ACPI tables. I tried following the general scope guide but admit i need some help. I'm not exactly sure where to even start. I tried installing voodoopstate.kext into System/Library/Extensions and then run pfix but it gives me a "voodoopstate.kext was installed improperly". any ideas? right below is my SSDT code . below that is my DSDT SSDT - http://pastie.org/939196 DSDT - http://pastie.org/939194
  7. Broadcom bcm43xx wireless driver [beta]

I think its also important to provide your Motherboard Model as well as system version. I'm GA-P35-DS3R in Snow Leopard 10.6.3 Broadcom 4320
  8. Broadcom bcm43xx wireless driver [beta]

do i need to disable my mobo's onboard ethernet to get SnowLeopard to recognize my 4320 PCI Broadcom card?
  9. I'm confused. What I'm looking to do is Dual boot with Vista and OSX but have a Raid 0 that is not my boot device ( its just a backup Raid 0) that will work between vista and OSX. People are saying using the Intel controller can't be done to do Raid in OSX. Also they say if i use the DiskUtility to do a soft Raid that it will render it useless in Vista. Bjorn. Are you saying that your OSX setup recognizes the Raid setup as 1 drive and that you can use it and then in your other OS you can use the Raid as well without any issues? What is the other OS your dual booting to? I have an ICH9R and a JMICRON controller on my mobo.
  10. ICH10R (in RAID mode) Working (in SL)...Sorta

hey all. read this thread. I havent gotten past install screens b/c I am dual booting with Vista which was installed without AHCI ENABLED. This RAID array is not my C:\ drive though. My C:\ drive is a simple regular SATA drive. the Raid is just a backup Raid 0 D:\ drive that has work on it. it is also shared with a Vista installation on another partition but is also a Raided backup drive. Seeing as how it isnt an OS array will this be recognized in OSx? my mobo has GIGABYTE RAID Controller (which i believe is JMicron) and Intel ICH9R controller.
  11. GA P35 DS3(R) Help wanted

hey guys. I have a GA-P35-DS3R, not sure which revision, but bios f13. tried installing snow leopard. had some issues b/c AHCI has to be enabled in my already installed VISTA HDD that was installed with BIOS defaults (AHCI NOT ENABLED!) needless to say this causes a BSOD when vista tries to load. Registry fixes can be applied to fix this. So i can get into OSX installation. but i have a Raid 0 Array for my D:\ drive that i can't get to show up. Is RAID not AHCI? does this mean there is no way to get the drives to appear in OSX?
  12. has there been any progress in terms of WMP54G 4.1? every where i've looked it seems as though this PCI card is a total dead end. If anyone has made any progress with it running in Leopard it would be a great help!
  13. Ralink RT61 mac driver development effort

has there been any progress on this. Spent hours trying to get my wireless working only to finally open the comp and see it wasa Linksys Wmp54g 4.1 wireless.

is anyone here using 10.5.6 with a working GMA 950? I'm sure the workflow is different than 10.5.2. Can someone post a brief description . I'm assuming to include the .kexts on the install DVD. but than what after reboot? I'm assuming its not a straight forward install since this adapter is getting old and has lots of issues. Has anyone ran OSx86 tools to update their GMA 950 after an install? Any help please??
  15. would the GMA 950 fix/patches work for an HP NC6400 laptop with the same graphics adapter?
