  1. SynergyKM

I'm trying to get synergykm to work with my hackintosh as the server side and my macbook as the client. Using wireless for network through an airport extreme. Everything is setup and connected over the network, and the macbook arrow goes to center screen. But when I try and get over to the macbook screen from the hackintosh, nothing happens. Any one else had this issue, or are they using synergykm in a similar way and have it working?
  2. Nvidia 8600 GT PLEASE HELP !

I have the same card and have been having issues for weeks and weeks and weeks... until today. Here's what I did: downloaded and installed nvdarwin and didn't restart. I opened the nvdarwin plist with the property list editor and edited the nvcap string with this: 0400000000000100060000000000000700000000 saved to desktop then opened system/library/extensions and went to nvdarwin, show item contents. Replaced plist in there with one on desktop. after reboot it said nvdarwin wasn't installed correctly, so I copied to desktop, deleted the kext in the folder then reinstalled from desktop with kext helper. boom! qe/ci in 10.5.5! Hope this helps oh, and thanks to Hagar, realityiswhere, Krazubu and BuildSmart for helping me get here.
  3. I've had limited success with this board. I've been able to install leo4all v2 on this and have everything working (nvidia 8600 gt 512 card), but with v3 video doesn't work. iAtkos, Kalyway and iDeneb all ended in the same result. I would have updated leo4allv2 but after updating to 10.5.3 I wasn't able to mount network drives. So, after some time on irc, I decided to do a retail install. The install goes fine with the boot-132 method, its after I install chameleon things get hairy. First thing I need to do is remove appleintelcpupowermanagement.kext and extensions.mkext do to package 0 error. Doing that results in a hang on either ntpdate or setcryptokey. Has anyone had any luck with this method, where am I going wrong? What kexts are needed for this to work out right?
  4. Upgraded cpu, now have install questions

Ok, I'm a little more awake on this post. Perhaps I can give more info that will help get some answers. It seems that I can't boot any instance of Leo. Is there something in my bios I need to be tweaking to get the dvd to load? Dvd drive is set to load first, and it does. I've installed Vista without any issue, but with leo4all, iAtkos, iDeneb, nothing happens. The computer reads the cd, but just continues on booting and I end up with windows. Is it possible that my motherboard won't work at all with Leo? Again, its a Gigabyte EP45C-DS3R. I'm sorry for the noob questions, I've searched the forums and haven't been able to come up with an answer. Thanks
  5. I was running Kalyway 10.5.2 on my old p4 3.2 and things were running great. I've recently upgraded to a core 2 duo 2.66, that meant a new mobo to go with it. I ended up with a Gigabye ga-ep45c-ds3r and am running into a few issues on install. First of all, I can only get leo4all to boot, kalyway, ideneb and iatkos all won't load (the would load on previous computer, so the burn is good). Not an issue really, as leo4all worked for install. I chose vanilla kernel, but things seem to be running slower then when I had my p4 in there. Should I be running the speedstep kernel? Any thoughts as to why the other 3 wouldn't load? Thanks.
  6. Here's how I did it with vista pre installed: Installed osx to additional hd put in vista disk reboot and had fix startup problems easy bcd took care of the rest
  7. com.apple.Boot.plist error on Leopard

solved: Somehow the second partition on my osx drive was set to boot. I unflagged that partition and flagged the osx partition as boot with gparted. Silly noob am I.
  8. com.apple.Boot.plist error on Leopard

I've started multiple times, same result. Still have to hit f8 to load. Could my chain0 be screwed up?
  9. Greetings, I have ToS Leopard 10.5.1 installed along with XP and Ubuntu. I'm booting via grub with chain0 method. hd set up is hd1 ide 120 gig XP on 1st partion, followed by ubuntu hd2 sata 250 gig with OSX on first partition and second partition is used for time machine hd3 sata 320 that is just used for storage Everything has been working great until recently. When I select the OS X option in grub I get the following error: System config file '/Library/Preferences/SystemConfiguration/com.apple.Boot.plist' not found if I hit f8 I can select the proper hard drive and the os will boot, but I would rather not have to do that every time. The only thing that I have changed is the second parition on the OSX drive has been reformatted for time machine use. Here is the text from com.apple.Boot.plist: <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?> <!DOCTYPE plist PUBLIC "-//Apple//DTD PLIST 1.0//EN" "http:apple.com/DTDs$ <plist version="1.0"> <dict> <key>Boot Device</key> <string>/PCI0@0/IDE1@1F,2/CHN0@0/@0:1</string> <key>Kernel</key> <string>mach_kernel</string> <key>Kernel Flags</key> <string></string> </dict> </plist> Is there any way to fix this? Thank you in advance!
  10. After several attempts with the Kalyway 10.5.1 install, I've had no success. I keep running into the reboot loop. MSI 945GM3 Mobo P4 3.2 1 gig RAM Seagate 320 gig Sata HD set to MBR I've tried installing Vanilla Kernel (both options selected) with Realtek audio driver, nvidea inject and mbr efi I've tried installing without Vanilla Kernel and no drivers.. all end the same way.. Bios settings all match those that are mentioned earlier in this thread with the only exception being the Execute Disable Bit or NX/XD option, as I can't find anything like it in bios options. I've had ToH installed and working nicely for a while, recently I managed to screw it up... not sure how..... For now I'm going back to ToH.
