    9600M GT

Okay... download the NVDarwin in my signature. start in '-s' mode when it stops loading, type in /sbin/mount -uw / all spaces included. next, type in cd System/Library/Extensions next: rm -r NV*.* next: rm -r Ge*.* next: rm -r ../Extensions.mkext next: reboot root: /sbin/mount -uw / root: cd System/Library/Extensions root: rm -r NV*.* root: rm -r Ge*.* root: rm-r ../Extensions.mkext root: reboot It should have now booted up in the crappy reso mode. install leopard official nvidia drivers: Ill upload them soon If you dont want to wait, and u dont have much on your OSX install, i suggest u download iPC 10.5.6 or higher and reinstall. Click the "customize install" button and choose "Official MacBook Pro Nvidia drivers" Next download the 9600MGT kext in my sig Install leopard drivers first then use OSX86 tools or similar to install the 9600MGT kext and reboot congrats u now have QE/CI For those wondering how i made the KEXT, i kinda forgot, but heres the gist: your card string is your Device ID + Vendor. so basically Device ID: 0x0649 Vendor: Nvidia (0x10de) your card string is: 0x10de0649 or 0x064910de. one of those two, forget which. you basically download a generic NVDarwin.kext and slip the card string in and also, the memory things that were created when u tried to create EFI GFX strings for it. If your already lost, dont bother, its already been done. All you need to do is download and install.
  2. what are u saying? So Windows 7 does START to boot up? i.e. u get the "Starting Windows" screen? or it just auto boots OSX? im really confused here. 1. You will probably need to reinstall OSX. If OSX works, back up your files and reinstall OSX. 2. Something has screwed up... and if the Windows 7 disk's startup repair option cant fix it, then ur screwed.

    windows partition is gone...

so your saying, when u booted into leopard there was no "untitled" disk that popped up on the desktop together with your MacOSX system disk?

    Intel Wireless Drivers [OSx86]

lol. Im beginning to doubt the guy in the first post. It seemed like he was just bluffing then left as the demand to provide the driver became greater.

    Intel Wireless Drivers [OSx86]

i can also confirm that it doesnt work: Mac OSX 10.5.6 are you sure its even a driver?

ive got a steering wheel (Driving Force GT)... ill try rFactor on CrossOver later.

ill try it in around 9 hrs from now using VMWare fusion. Also, @Shambler, if u can get Vista/XP/whatever drivers for your G25, which wont be impossible, you can probably play it inside VMWare fusion as it is basically like running windows (a better version of Parallels). I play an old game called Rally Masters with my Logitech Driving Force GT and it works fine, tho the game is so old theres no force feedback. EDIT: Heres my results: Menu works, u can see the 3D car and everything no glitches. Starting a race... works... BUT when the race starts, all u see is an epileptic white flashing screen. EDIT2:

[HOW TO] Getting IDT Audio Working

wtf... i didnt do all this.. i simply downloaded and installed 2 kexts with OSx86 Tools and rebooted, and IDT is working on my HP DV5-1134TX. None of this editing was needed. I think it may be pre-built versions using this tutorial, but if anyone wants the drivers and cant do this tutorial, PM me... ill send em over to you. EVERYTHING works: External mic jack, internal microphone, dual headphone jacks. Though theres a slight glitch with the headphones, but its nothing major. EDIT:
  9. Dont know if someone has already said this but it works 99% on the HP DV5-1134tx. only thing not working is the Intel WiFi Link 5100AGN Specs: Processor: Intel Core 2 Duo P8600 2.4Ghz Working without any mods. Inputs: Normal PS/2 keyboard and Synaptics touchpad 2.5 Needed a PS/2 driver to get it working, was included in the iPC 10.5.6 disk Disk: WDC WD3200BEVT 320GB Working without any mods GFX Nvidia 9600M GT Needs a modified NVDarwin 1.2.5 kext driver and official MacBook NVidia drivers (included in iPC 10.5.6) After install, QE/CI works. Ethernet:Realtek 8111/8168 Gigabit ethernet This works without support, but may fail. When it fails, you will need to install drivers to continue using it, dont know why. Sound:IDT High Def Audio. (Dual headphone jacks, inbuilt microphone, external mic jack) Needs drivers. Other Peripherals: SuYin 2.0MP webcam: No mods/patches needed with iPC 10.5.6 install. Doesnt work with the 10.5.4 ToH install. HP QuickPlay Buttons: Only volume keys work. No drivers needed unless u want the play controls.
  10. You would need a bloody good GFX card that supports QE/CI and QGL, and has at least 512MB RAM to be able to help out a CPU. Even my 9600M GT 768MB card has trouble rendering hi-def h.264 @ 1980x1080 (1080P). Its has minor hiccups from time to time. and my CPU isnt that bad as well (Core 2 Duo P8600 2.4Ghz). but this maybe because of the format (MKV) and i use a 3rd party codec pack for Quicktime (Perian). But the website says that it is only a rumor and that Snow Leopard, which to my belief isnt released yet, supports the GPU support. Its not really the motherboard that does anything, its whether or not the operating system, in this case OSX, supports the feature. Im not really sure whether or not it was implemented in 10.5.7, but its only a rumor... dont bet too much on it. If it is supported, then yes, it would lower the strain on your CPU as your GPU would be doing all the work. Maybe. It may/may not work on a hackintosh as you would need drivers for your specific GFX card.
  11. Well, its not a huge problem, but there are times when i have to work unplugged and its nerve-racking thinking that it'll just zap off without any prior warnings or messages, as its done before, causing me to lose 400 words of a 1,900 word essay. Its freaking scary.. its just.. fine, then in a split-second.. poof. its black, and ur sitting there going .. 'wtf' its kinda hilarious actually if u think about it Is there a patch that will force OSX to recognize that its a laptop and show mobility options such as battery status, power management modes etc.etc.? Is that the point of the ICH9 chipset drivers? If so, does anyone know how i can pop them off the iPC OSX 10.5.6 iso? or do they have links?

    Intel Wireless Drivers [OSx86]

yay intel WiFi Link 5100! its so annoying not to be able to use wi-fi. Hope this turns out well, even if the post seems a bit dead.
  13. thats a VERY good idea.. ive got 2 OSX installs on mine, and no it wont.. it'll just show up like this: Darwin Boot loader. (0,1) Mac OSX #1 (0,2) Mac OSX #2 thats IF you hit F8. if you dont hit F8, it'll just boot into your latest install. you can also change which bootloader you see when u start up your computer. Insert your DVD, and hit F8 when it loads up. type in: -s and hit enter. When it's done loading, type in fdisk -e /dev/rdisk0 then type in: flag 1 or flag 2 (partition number u want to boot from) then type: quit This writes it to the MBR. then: reboot this basically changes which OSX installation boots automatically if u let it count down to 0. You might get a "cant find MBR" error or a "cant write to MBR" error. dont worry, the MBR is still there. As long as your cursor changes to "fdisk" or sometihng similar, your fine.
