I have the same problem with a Gigabyte motherboard BIOS that wants a DEL key to enter the BIOS settings. I am using a compact wired Aluminum Apple keyboard. I can press F12 fine to get to the startup device selection menu, but the Apple keyboard does not know how to generate the traditional DEL key to enter BIOS settings. Any help? I hate keeping a cheap USB Windows keyboard just to enter BIOS settings!
I need a solution as well. I have the exact same problem. Panics once every 1-2 days randomly accompanied with a loud screeching noise coming out of the speakers EFI-X V1 USB Boot device Gigabyte EP45T-UD3R Intel Q-9550 Core 2 Quad 2.83GHz NVidia 9800GT 1GB (Palit) 8GB RAM Mac OS X Leopard 10.5.8 (9L31a) The Console would be filled with the following line: 03/09/2009 21:31:09 com.apple.SystemStarter Error: no SMC found
I have the Logitech QuickCam S 5500 and it worked right out of the box with no drivers on my custom-built hackintosh (Q9550 Intel 2.83GHz, Gigabyte Motherboard EP45T-UD3R, Palit nVidia 9800GT 1GB, etc etc, installed using Boot-132 and Chameleon with some audio .kexts applied.
