    DSDT fixes for Gigabyte boards

Hey everyone, wasn't getting any bites in other forums, so I thought I'd try a Gigabyte specific thread, I am still having difficulty getting my GA-G31M-ES2L (rev. 1.1, F10) to sleep. I am essentially trying to figure out if my sleep function is not working because of an error in my DSDT file or a wayward kext. I noticed today when I ran the kextstat command, that the NullCPUPowerManagement kext still loads alongside the AppleIntelCPUManagement kext even though I deleted NullCPUPowerManagement from both /Extra and /System/Library/Extensions and used Kext Wizard to rebuild both caches. My printout from kextstat: Hidden Content - kextstat printout Show Content Index Refs Address Size Wired Name (Version) <Linked Against> 1 51 0xffffff7f80740000 0x683c 0x683c com.apple.kpi.bsd 2. For a full description of my system setup click here Hey, My machine seems to be working great so far, the only snag being that sleep does not work. It worked fine when I had Leopard installed, but after making the upgrade to Lion — I skipped Snow Leopard —, I can't get the sleep functioning again. And in my haste to upgrade, my previous dsdt file was deleted in the pre-installation formatting, so I no longer have that for reference. I'm fairly noobish and terrified I'm going to mess up my system, so I'm going to avoid using the DSDT editor without some guidance first. Thanks in advance for any assistance! dsdt.aml.zip
  3. EDIT: I moved NullCPUPowerManagement.kext and EvOReboot.kext to /Extra/RemovedExtensions and rebuilt my caches using Kext Wizard. Hey everyone, I'm currently (succesfully) running Lion 10.7.4 on my Hackintosh, but the only thing not working properly is sleep. What am I missing? Here's my hardware: Motherboard: Gigabyte G31M-ES2L rev. 1.1 (BIOS F10) CPU: 2.5 GHz Dual-Core Processor Video: nVidia GeForce 9400 GT (512 MB) Hidden Content - Full Hardware List Show Content Here are the steps I followed: Changed my BIOS settings (HPET to 64-bit, SATA chip to Enhanced mode) To install Lion on my system, I used the myHack installer to create an install disk from the 10.7.4 retail DMG I download from the App Store. After install, the system was basically fully functional. I added in some kext's (See below), fixed permissions, updated caches using Kext Wizard. Used MaLd0n's DSDT Auto Patcher for my board, placed the dsdt.aml file in /Extra From here I tried sleep, but the only thing that happens is the screen goes black. You can still hear the CPU fan running inside. I tried it again after removing NullCPUPowerManagement.kext with no luck. I also tried SleepEnablerNG.kext, but that also didn't work (I tried SleepEnabler on a Snow Leopard install and it borked my system). 4. I built a hackintosh a few weeks ago and have been very pleased (once I got everything working). However, I've just noticed that as of today, my w-lan speed has been absolutely abysmal. I just tested my hackintosh, laptop (also on w-lan), and iMac desktop (ethernet) with a Speedtest.net speed test. My iMac and my laptop are both pulling 10 mbps download speeds, whereas my hackintosh is pulling 0.2 mpbs. Each test was run multiple times on each machine in succession with the same results. Each computer is running off of the same Linksys WRT54GS v6 wireless router. I have the following hardware: Motherboard: GIGABYTE GA-G31M-ES2L Wireless Card: ASUS WL-138g V2 I used the guide from http://www.an43.com/ to install OS X. NOTE: Not sure if this helps, but the only way I've ever been able to get my wireless to work is by adding a -f kernel flag. Otherwise, the wireless card refused to ever initialize. Ideas? Any help would be great.
  5. I have an Asus WL-138g V2 wireless card. I bought it because of its reported compatibility. After a week of troubleshooting, I figured out that the only way to get the card to work was that upon booting, I had to use a -f flag and then manually tell the card to connect to my prefered wireless network once in the operating system. (I forget what article I found that said try -f, but I did it as a last effort, and was elated when it worked). Why won't it automatically do these steps? Especially when it's reported to work out of the box?

    Asus WL-138g V2 not recognized

So, I don't know if this was specific to my system or not, but I just solved my wireless situation through trial and error. All I had to do was add a -f kernel flag with OSX86Tools to the com.apple.Boot.plist.
  7. Hi all, I purchased the Asus WL-138g V2 since it is supposed to work right out of the box. Unfortunately, I have not had ANY such luck. I used the following website to setup my system: http://www.an43.com/osx I used boot-132 to install a retail copy of Leopard 10.5.6. I then used that website's steps to upgrade to 10.5.7. I am using the latest versions of all software released by Apple. What I don't get is that my w-lan card works fine in Ubuntu (LiveCD) after installing broadcom B43 proprietary drivers. And the lspci command in Ubuntu and from OSx86 tools both tell me I have this in my PCI slot: 04:01.0 Network controller [0280]: Broadcom Corporation BCM4318 [AirForce One 54g] 802.11g Wireless LAN Controller [14e4:4318] (rev 02) I have even tried editing the IO80211Family.kext, but my version already has the 4318 string in it. Please Help! Once I get this solved, I will love my machine!
