  1. You need a driver or kext... Here's how: 1. Download: AtherosFix.kext.zip 2. Find the kext IO80211Family.kext and drag it to your desktop 3. Go to contents/plugins and replace the AirportAtheros.kext with the one you just downloaded 4. Restart 5. You should be good to go :censored2:

    Sorry, but i wanted to brush the dust off this post because i just bought the AR5BXB6 and i'm waiting for it to turn up... And why would a card from a regular laptop be more compatible than one from a real mac....? And did you buy this card? Thanks, Spike

    Thanks for replying so quickly I had a quick run through these threads and they helped me a lot, but in the end i found it easiest to just go to the HCL and find the best card i could find on there, look like i'll be getting the Netgear WPN311 from Amazon.... Thanks anyway

    Hey guys So i just built myself my first 10.6 snow leopard hackintosh pc and it's pretty awesome even if i do say so myself... Here are all the specs: Motherboard: Gigabyte GA-EX58-UD5 Max 24GB RAM, 6 RAM-slots, 2xGigabit LAN, 10xSATA, 12xUSB2.0, 3xFW400. Memory: OCZ Gold 6GB (3 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800) Model OCZ3G1600LV6GK. CPU: Intel i7 920, 2.66 GHz. HDD: Seagate Barracuda 7200.12 ST3500418AS 500GB 7200 RPM SATA 3.0Gb/s 3.5" PSU: COOLER MASTER Silent Pro 600 (13,5cm fan, modular cabling). DVD Drive: Pioneer DVR-S18L series 22X22 DVD/CD Writer Serial ATA - Black Ok, back to my point, i was wondering if someone could recommend me a good PCI card to use for my build?     Hey, So i have the ing AR5007EG. I hate it, the minute i get it working, it breaks again... But enough of that... I'm looking to replace it with another card, such as the Dell 1505.   13. Atheros AR5007EG, Who can help me?

    Hey Guys! I'm really happy to say that my Atheros AR5007EG is working! I'm typing on my laptop using it right now! Here's what i did: 1. Did a fresh install of Kalyway 10.5.2 on a new partition. 2. Updated to 10.5.3 using Kalyways update. 3. Went to their section on MediaFire, which you can find here: http://mediafire.com/osx86files 4. Downloaded the file "Atheros-AR5007.pkg.zip" and installed it. 5. Installed Kismac trunk r319 6. Went into Kismac preferences and selected "Apple Airport Extreme - Passive Mode" 7. Went to advanced tab and put "en0" in the bpf device 8. Clicked search and then.... It didn't work 9. Rebooted and tried again... It didn't work 10. Rebooted and tried again and... IT WORKED!!! Oh, and don't forget don't update airport, or it won't work anymore! I also attached the AR5007EG package: Atheros_AR5007.pkg.zip Hope this helps you guys!
