  1. So I recently Hackintoshed my desktop to 10.8.2. It worked out of the box once i got it booting. I have video acceleration and the works and it was working fine (i7 920, GTX 460, Gigabyte X58-UD4P). All was fine and dandy, but I had this weird flicker on the refresh rate of some colors. Primarily certain shades of greys, and some yellows. Not too bad, but just enough to make me want to explore fixing it. I then saw the 304 drivers for 10.8.1, and without reading the threads, tried to install it. Not heeding the warning by the installer, I opened the mpkg and manually copied over the Kext files to my Extensions folder. it booted, but then once i got to the login screen and tried to login, the screen would flash white, and dump me back to the login screen. Bummer, I broke something. I restored my old kexts, deleted all the kexts i moved over, and refreshed all my kextcaches. Everything works again, but now I dont have hardware acceleration. My Launchpad is super slow. I can see the render line moving down the screen as it tries to draw the Launchpad. I tried to play Guild Wars 2 (It worked perfectly fine before) and now it just errors it could not find a Hardware OpenGL renderer. I have tried reloading my entire Kext set from the kakewalk install, by deleting all my kexts, and installing all new ones from the kakewalk USB manually (I boot into the installer, and used the Terminal to do all the hackery). Nothing seems to work to fix the issue. So i come here asking to see if anyone knows how I might be able to restore the original 10.8.2 functionality i had with video rendering, short of wiping and installing from scratch. Cause I JUST got everything setup to my liking. If anyone wants, I can post of video of the launchpad slowness and such if needed. Thanks. [Edit] I do have a Macbook Air with 10.8.2 running on it. So if getting any official files is needed, i can grab them from there or the installer.
  2. Can't get the Kakewalk USB detected.

Nvm, figured it out. For future reference for those that try. The "Hard Disk" option has a + next to it, means multiple options, When you select it, first open is "USB-HDD0" which is the usb stick, hit that, and it boots. Ugh, poor menu design.
  3. I read up on all the procedures, and made myself a Kakewalk USB and copied over the MBR patch for 10.8 (trying to install Mountain Lion) I have a EX58-UD4P motherboard which is supported, GTX480 video card and an i7920. all supported hardware from what I have seen. The problem is when I put it into my PC, its not even detected or booted from. I messed with my Boot orders all day, and my bios is the latest version. I tried USB-FDD, USB-HDD, and neither works. Always just goes to booting Windows 8 (I have Win8 RTM installed, hence the MBR patch). I also tried manually selecting what it should boot by going to the Boot menu with F12, nothing works. Has anyone had any similar experiences? I am running out of ideas. AllI have are 2 hard drives, a CD-Rom, MB/Video card. Everythign else is on the motherboard. Thanks in advance. P.S. I am making my USBs and such on my Macbook air, incase there is a Real vs Hackintosh issue when making the usbs or something.
  4. Need help getting Installation to boot

Ok I think I am getting somewhere. Maybe not but here is exactly what I do. 1. Delete all partitions and other junk from the installer drive. 2. Using Transmac, I format the disk with the iPC iso. 3. I use a flash drive as boot132 drive. 4. I boot up the flash drive, wait for syslinux to load. 5. I set it to 80, take out the flash drive, and put in the Install Drive and hit enter. Get Error: Calling chainbooter. BOot Error I assume this is cause I did the swap. Chameleon doesn't see the other hard drive. And I mean never sees the other drive. I only have 80 and 81 as boot devices. Never sees the 2nd usb drive, just my internal and my flash drive. Any ideas on what I can do to get this working? I have Acronis, Transmac, ddmac (which doesnt work for me, always says not an HFS partition and does nothing), DellMiniboot, DellEFI, 3-4 boot132 compilations, Chameleon 2.0rc1 and 1.0.12 binaries. I dunno what to do anymore to get this thing to boot. Do I format the install drive as fat32, or do i do something else? any help would be greatly appreciated. I have been trying to get OSX on my HP 2140 for 2 days now, and i can't even get to the installer. I know others have gotten OSX on their HP2140s but they either have another mac, or did something to finally boot it.
  5. Ok, So I've spent the day trying to figure this out and have tried everything. I am trying to install iPC 10.5.6 onto a HP 2140, so im doing it with 2 USB drives. One is a normal thumb drive, the other is a Buffalo LInkstation drive. I used TransMac to write the ISO (that i converted to DMG with transmac) to the drive. I then tried at least 5 different compilations for the boot stick. I even managed to get CHameleon 2.0rc1 to boot up. The problem is on the premade bootdisks, it loads up an older chameleon text mode boot. I set the drive to 82 for the install drive, and hit enter. It doesn't boot. It just takes me to the drive selection and asks me for the number again. Chameleon 2.0 doesn't even see it, only sees the flashdrive it booted off of, and my windows installation. I tried to switch the flash drive with the install drive and then launch the USB drive option in CHameleon 2.0, but it failed, just gave me a bunch of black dots on screen, then warped the images. Can anyone point me to a way to get the installation to boot. I don't have a OSX already to do any of the OSX methods and I don't have an external DVD reader to burn to a cd. Need some help. I've even tried the DellEFIBoot stuff and that just gave me the same no boot problem. Any help would be appreciated.
