    Quicklook on Snow SUX.....

now GeForce have better drivers on Mac too...
  3. Is ethernet working OK on your P5N-D? I can't get it to not drop connection Brother have GA-EP35-DS3R and installed retail 10.5.2 and upgraded to 10.5.7 and had no single KP or connection drop

    Slow WWW

can U post ping results for www.google.com ? I have this (I.m from poland with ADSL 6mbit and torrent downloading iATKOS v7) on my nForceLAN: PING www.l.google.com (74.125.39.99): 56 data bytes 64 bytes from 74.125.39.99: icmp_seq=0 ttl=247 time=83.100 ms 64 bytes from 74.125.39.99: icmp_seq=1 ttl=247 time=85.555 ms 64 bytes from 74.125.39.99: icmp_seq=2 ttl=247 time=80.614 ms and so on... and google loads instantly. So if U have slow www then I expect ping like >1000ms ps. U have 10.5.7 retail dvd or upgraded from earlier version?

    AnV XNU Kernel V1.4

+ tried this kernel and compared xbench to vanilla 9.6.0 and performance was quite identical + everything worked fine including rosetta ppc apps - had to boot with -f everytime so loading times were much longer and to boot It didn't fixed lan issue (dropping connection) so I have really no use of this kernel as vanilla 9.6.0 works great (wchich is strange cos 9.5.0 and earlier are no go on asus p5n-d...). If I'll be installing Leo on some AMD machine then this kernel will be first to check
  8. @bogdi1988 Can U post Xbench scores in both 32 and 64 bit modes?

    Quicklook on Snow SUX.....

first of all on what oryginal Apple hardware have U tested it? None? So do I and I got KP too We can't just judge SL now as it isn't even RTM and we have no good quality osx86 patches to it. If SL run in full 64-bit kernel mode it would be much faster, but for now it seem quite the same as Leopard to me, just minor changes in interface, some I don't understand like no disk icons on desktop

    Battery Life Drop After 10.5.7

try using 10.5.5/10.5.6 kext on 10.5.7 or better check which changed after upgrade and change it back. This should help
  11. it's funny cos on Hackintoshes it's only a matter od adding -x64 during boot but 64-bit kernel doesn't work cos we must use custom 32-bit only (atleast yet...) kexts I must use 32-bit dsmos.kext and applenforceata.kext and apple3com????.kext for network and get "Still waiting for root device..." in x64 mode (probably of lack 64bit applenforceata.kext) :censored2:
  12. I have new unusual symptoms My mouse started behaving quite strange moment my lan drops, it first starts moving too fast and then super fast and reverse I'm starting to delete kext I don't think are necesary one after another to see if it helps...

Windows 7, an OS X and Linux killer?

    1. U can disable new taskbar and make it as slim as it was in XP 2. From my experience there isn't many games that don't run on Vista or Win7... 3. U can buy Proffesional edition or use XP U have now

    Leopard Laggy

try this: sudo kextunload /System/Library/Extensions/AppleUpstreamuserclient.kext I have identical issue with choppy mouse after starting iTunes or QuickTime and this fixes it. To this command to work iTunes and QT much don't run. If it helps you, then just delete /System/Library/Extensions/AppleUpstreamuserclient.kext
  15. net drops here on Asus P5N-D SLI with RTL8139 It is network card unrelated issue coz I tested it with some 3Com PCI NIC and onboad nforce (wchich gabe me also KP) with same reluts of no connection. I used 3Com on my Asus P5Q Deluxe (broken from cheap feel3 atx...) and everything worked like a charm. My brother have Gigabyte EP35-DS3R and also don't have any drops. So here I am with my network dropping and tried disabling HPET and deleting AppleHPET.kext - din't worked, just made drops less frequent. Network can go all night long torrenting but eventually it drops, and it can drop after almost no time from booting, so there is no rule when it drops... Now I use duplicate nic setting method and MTU1000, and manual DNSes with everything regarding HPET enabled and it didn't drop by now (~1h), and without it it dropped quite fast. I'm testing by using torrent, opening sites and transfering to/from my XBox using FTP. Will post if it drops ps. forgot to add that I use iPC 10.5.6 with Vanilla kernel. Now I just uppded to 10.5.7. Earlier it didn't change much in network dropping case.
