    HP DV7-1020us Webcam

I know this is posted quite a long time ago but try using Cam-twist for mac and add your webcam. Leave the program on and try using photo booth. This is how my webcam was recognized in photo booth. Can I have your DSDT if you use one? We have very similar laptops if not exact (mines Dv7 1211-tx with 2.66 ghz and normal DVD drive) because im having trouble with my hardware. random USB start up problems and sound not working. Hope my info helps.
  2. Thanks to this DSDT I can get my DV7 1211tx to boot.Graphics work extremely well or even perfect (9600m gt) BUT l don't have USB support unless I enter in chameleon "USBBusFix=Yes". sound support unless I install voodooHDA but I'd prefer to find a more vanilla way of enabling it, and I don't have keyboard or mouse/track-pad support unless I use a USB mouse. Mammoth has a great tutorial and method to installing SL on a HP laptop. Have a look http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=221653

Snow Leopard wont boot without retail disc?

It is a laptop by the way, forgot to mention that and as a laptop you don't get many options like a tower. The only important options in the bios is to change the boot order. The HDD's are connected SATA based and I think the DVD drive is SERIALATAPI based if i know my terminology. Chameleon is installed to one of the two HDD's. The problem has gotten weirder now. The booting issue with the snow leopard disc is solved now. (I forgot that chameleon was booting of the CD drive, silly mistake.) But now it's booting from the HDD. I can't boot into snow leoaprd without it saying SERIALATAPI reconfiguration error.
  4. Snow Leopard won't boot without a retail disc. This is somewhat strange. Im using Chameleon to boot my OS's and when i try to boot to Snow Leopard it gives me a serial-ATAPI errors and then the waitng for root device. It only works if I insert the retail installation disc and then select the Snow Leopard partition from chameleon. Is there an easy fix hopefully? Help is always greatly appreciated.
  5. Yes I have tried this, it works now but didn't many times before. Thanks JBraddock But this only solves one of my issues. I still need help solving the usb issue, booting into osx without the install CD issue and the windows installation issue. Help is appreciated.
  6. I am currently having a lot of trouble installing SL onto my laptop. I have a HP DV7 1211 TX. Specs are as follows. System Model: HP Pavilion dv7 Notebook PC BIOS: Default System BIOS Processor: Intel® Core2 Duo CPU T9550 @ 2.66GHz (2 CPUs), ~2.7GHz Card name: NVIDIA GeForce 9600M GT Memory: 4096MB RAM HDD: 2x 400GB Toshiba Drives I can't install windows 7 because of the partition style (GPT), I can't boot into SL without the Install Disc (not the boot disc), it always stops at a certain message and its just frozen in the '-v' screen. When i try to boot into SL (without the install disc) it won't boot because of the "Loaded HFS+ file: [system/library/CoreServices/SystemVersion.plist]" issue. Repairing, verifying or both and boot commands don't work. I should mention that this happens on both versions of the boot discs 1.15 and the version before it. I have lost usb support since using 1.15. Am I doing something wrong? Help would be heavily appreciated.
  7. Its a HP Pavillion DV7 1211tx specs here: http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/documen...product=3893469 Strangely I manged to get into SL by removing the boot cd at the chameleon loader and replacing it with SL install disc, its the only way to boot into SL for some reason. Can it be a kext related issue?
  8. I have manged to install sl to my senond HDD, now i get the dreaded "SerialATAPI device reconfiguration did not complete successfully. (failedCommandInfo = 0x1)" it appears about four times beffore chaning to "waiting for boot device". Ive tried the cpus=1 and the busratio=12 commands. Help would be aprreciated.
  9. Thank you, Now I know which one to use.
  10. Does it really matter which boot CD I use? I have the dv7-tx and I'm wondering if I should use the the normal or experimental boot CD. Shoild I use the Mammoth DVx Boot CD because I have a DV7, is that what the DV 'x' means?
  11. Hello Mammoth, I'm impressed with your progress and feedback from the community. GOOD ON YOU I have a quick question which is; Can I install SL OSX on a seprate hard drive in my laptop and still multiboot Win 7 and SL OSX? I have done this once before with ideneb and used an application called 'EasyBCD' to create the dual boot on the os's on seprate hardrives. Your oppinion would be appreciated.
  12. My specs are as follows: CPU: 2.66ghz centrino 2 dual core GPU: 9600mgt 512mb ddr2 MEM: 4GB HDD: 2 x 400GB approx drives WIFI: Intel wifi link 5100 Chipset: Intel PM45 Southbridge: Intel ICH9-M I think there is another tutorial for installing osx somewhere similar to your laptop. Heres a link http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=215233 I really like your methods for an osx86 installation so I'm hoping to see whether it will work out or not.
  13. I have a DV7 1211tx I previously had a triple boot of vista, 7 RC and ideneb 10.5.6. But that was a year ago. I'm only on 7 home premium now. If I brought snow leopard and installed it using your guide would it work on my laptop? Will I have great support for drivers and good performance? I'm keeping an eye on these posts. Looking forward to this
  14. Try ideneb from what i've seen and noticed its the best for HP Dv5,6,7 etc laptops.
