  1. There's a huge thread about this over at macrumors , and a wiki here. Currently this can't be done with the LED backlit displays though (looks like it's just a matter of finding a source for hi-res LED backlit panels though).
  2. I ran into this with pacifist too. I found the information in another thread here. You can run the mpkg file with installer with a few changes. First you will need to convert the .dmg you downloaded to read/write using Disk Utility, then mount the read/write image. Right click the MacOSXServerInstall.mpkg, and click show contents. delete VolumeCheck from Contents/Resources, and install with Installer.app. You will need a serial number for OS X Server to complete the installation.
