  1. Well, today I checked and it was about 48 C, so I'm not sure what was going on before, but it seems fine now. That was one thing I hadn't tried.. the only thing that happens when I tell it to go to sleep is the screen goes off and fans get louder. If i move the mouse, it comes back. Oh, and today I plugged my Turtle Beach X41 headset into the optical out on the motherboard, not expecting it to work in OS X. It surprisingly works, but not volume control. I can't change the volume or mute it..any ideas? Update: About 5 minutes ago I got my first kernel panic . It said something about AppleIntelCPUPowerManagement.kext being a kernel extension in backtrace. Could this be because I updated to 10.6.2? It can be installed on a solid state drive..I updated to 10.6.2 just fine with my OCZ SSD. The only problem is that I experienced a kernel panic.. not sure if it's from updating or not.
  2. I installed Snow Leopard using the instructions in this guide, and everything (even my IDE DVD drive that never worked when I used other guides) works. The only problem is that when I open temperature monitor it says that all of the cores are at about 60 degrees C when it is idle. I'm using V3.00 DSDT. Do other people have lower temps? Oh, and I have P6T Deluxe v2 / i7 920 / 9800GTX+ / OCZ Gold DDR3 PC3-12800 with stock CPU cooler, but it's not overclocked and idle temp in Windows is about 45 C.
  3. has anyone been able to get an ide dvd drive on p6t deluxe v2 working in snow leopard? i can't install some stuff without it
  4. none of those kexts seem to have any effect...
  5. should i just search for this?
  6. I have an ide dvd drive that worked in leopard, and now in snow leopard it doesn't work. It doesn't show up in disk utility/system profiler either. I have a p6t deluxe v2 if that helps
  7. does it actually say in system profiler that qe/ci aren't enabled? i have the same video card and use efi strings...for me it doesn't say they are enabled(doesnt even mention in system profiler), but i believe that they are because the animations are very smooth and not laggy.
  8. Chameleon 2 rc1

well, I guess i didn't need to. I had basically a clone of 10.5.5 on another partition and decided to try to install 10.5.7 onto the clone while booted into the normal install. It surprisingly worked just fine except for an ethernet kext which was an easy fix.
  9. Chameleon 2 rc1

  10. Chameleon 2 rc1

The description kind of says it all. I have chameleon 2 installed right now and working well but I'd like to be able to install updates and keep my kernel and kexts. I can get it to load kexts from /Extra/Extensions, but I can't seem to get it to load from the Extensions.mkext and my kernel.
  11. This works good for me with ideneb 1.3 10.5.5, now i'm going to try it with 1.4, 10.5.6.
  12. 9.6.3 Kernel for Core i7

I installed the vanilla kernel, and it works fine except that i get about 2000 less in geekbench than before. (only 5900 now.) I'll have to use some other benchmarking program to see if i get the same results. EDIT: Now I get kernel panics from DMG's, which didn't happen before. Could the slowness be because i have 10.5.5, not 10.5.6? I have asus p6t deluxe v2, core i7 920 6gb ocz 1600mhz ram ideneb 1.3 10.5.5
  13. Looks like a good tutorial, I'm going to try it in a few days when my computer arrives.
  14. leopard on asus p6t deluxe v2

I've read posts about people successfully installing iAtkos 5i 10.5.5 on intel DX58SO, so I might get that instead.
  15. ok..so I am thinking about getting: asus p6t deluxe v2(if this is a bad choice, please give me a better option) intel core i7 920 sparkle 1gb 9800 gtx+ 6gb of ocz platinum 1333 mhz triple channel ram western digital caviar 640gb sata hd sony optiarc dvd/cd burner. I know there are guides to install leopard on asus p6t deluxe (not v2), but is there something different I would have to do or would it be basically the same? Also, what distro should I use?
