(solved) Can't get my HD 2400 pro work

I have a HD 2400. I got it working flawlessly with Leopard. I have a DVI to VGA converter. Installed Leopard with iATKOS V7. I now have a problem in Snow Leopard. My monitor is 1440 x 900 but the only option I get is 1024 x 768 so it looks stretched, can I change this?? Thanks, Ric
  2. Hi, I have been running standard Leopard on my Dell Inspiron 530 for quite some time now, the standard Leopard install I used was iATKOS V7 which practically did everything for me! All of the kexts for sound and graphics just worked. Today I decided to take the plunge and attempt an upgrade to Snow Leopard, following Mattisz guide for Snow Leopard http://www.mattisz.com/hacks/snow-leopard-inspiron-530 Upon the install of Snow Leopard most things appear to be fine, but I have a problem with the resolution. I have a 1440 x 900 monitor and when I enter the display options I only have a choice of one (1024 x 768) which makes things look very stretched. I have a ATI HD2400 Pro (problematic), and can't seem to get this working on Snow. Other minor issues I have include: Shutdown = Restart Sleep crashes my machine. When booting snow in verbose mode it also seems to hang on: (AppleIntelCpuManagement) timed out I couldn't find any information through searching the forum or google. Any help you could offer me would be greatly appreciated.

    Inspiron 530 Issues

Thanks for the audio fix! Unfortunately the poweroff_fix didn't work...I think I have tried that one before. Just a quick question too, how do you uninstall kext's? You don't just delete them do you?

    Inspiron 530 Issues

I am new to the world of mac and osx86 and before I buy a Macbook Pro I wanted to try OSX on my PC: Inspiron 530 Intel Q6600 Radeon HD2400 Realtec HD So far I love OSX and the iAtkos V7 disk works a treat, but I do have a few issues that after a lot of searching I have got nowhere. The first problem: The sound does works but crackles, it only seems to do this with low tones I have used the ALC888 kext. This doesn't happen when I boot vista. The second problem: I can't get the system to properly shutdown or sleep. When I select shutdown my system simply restarts. I have used Kext Utillity to install VoodooPower.kext and OpenHaltRestart.kext but these made no difference. If I could get this issues sorted I would seriously consider changing to OSX permanently, I have decided that my life is better without windows and I can live without it. Your help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks Ric

    Black Screen?

I got this problem, but this was because I installed the wrong video drivers. How can I revert back to the default setting without reinstalling OSX?

    Installing on Dell Inspiron 530

Hi Everyone, I'm new to this I have a Del Inspiron 530 with: 6600 Quad Core, 500gb HD, ATI Radeon HD 2400 PRO (94c3), Realtek High Def Audio. I managed to get iDeneb v1.4_10.5.6 up and running absolutely fine. The problem came when I installed the drivers for my Radeon 2400 from this web page: http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/index.php...=107526&hl= Once this file had installed and the system rebooted and OSX went happy through the darwin loader, but then my screen turns off as soon as the desktop loads (as if the signal was cut). I've tried launching in safe mode (-x) and that did the same, I tried changing the graphics mode back to 1024x768 and that didn't work. How can I get my OSX to boot again? and what did I do wrong, these are the correct drivers for my card aren't they? I am also having to trouble getting the sound to work and I haven't come across a solution yet, can anyone help me with this too? Thanks in advance.
