  1. Hi Steve, FYI, this problem occured even my hack always had 2 SATA hard drives and GTX-285 but honestly I didn't observe the difference between 1 and 2 drives. I thought it was a bios issue but turned out I could at least get around it. The loss of usb mouse or keyboard in 10.61 did occur by was at a rate like once every 100 boots. It seemed to happen much less frequently in 10.6x and with newer F8x and F9x bios for Extreme motherboard. Did you mean turning the USB storage or USB Legacy mode off? Regards, Patrick
  2. Hi MAJ, No, it happened at bios boot screen and hence Chameleon drive selection screen. First I suspected it was the bios but even flashing to the newer F8x and F9x versions didn't help. Then I unplugged the Apple mouse from the Apple keyboard, I got keyboard back. I connected the Apple mouse to the motherboard, I got mouse and keyboard no matter what I did. As soon as I plugged the mouse to keyboard, the symptom came back again. I don't know if this also happens to non-Apple keyboard and mouse combo. I would be interested to hear from anyone who can repeat this problem with the Apple combo.

I don't know if anyone has experienced missing USB mouse and keybord at boot and Chameleon boot screen when both are from Apple and the mouse is connected to the keyboard USB port even you have the newer F8x and F9x bios. I thought it was because of overclocking or Bios issues but it wasn't. It can be resolved simply by plugging the Apple mouse and keyboard directly to motherboard USB ports.
  4. Here are my OpenCL_GALAXIES_16K_SSE4_VSYNC_OFF benchmarks for 1280 x 1024 pixels: 1. i920 overclocked to 4.4GHZ - 87 Gigaflops 2. eVGA GTX-285 (100MHz pcie) - 306 Gigaflops
  5. Yes, PC-EFI 10.1 booter can boot without DSDT but obviously you will get CMOS reset. I guess it is ok for 1st boot.

In order to keep my SL (421a) as much vanilla as possible (ie. not installing any additional kexts for audio,network and video in /S/L/E), and run everything in x64 mode, I found a 4th solution to get stereo (2 channel) sound through the rear green jack although not as elegant as DSDT only solution. Here is what you need to do: 1. Line in (not tested yet), vii. Digital in (not tested yet). I've not tried this on 10.5.8 but I guess it would also work based on peoples reports on the newer AppleHDA.kext. I believe if can reverse the pinconfig codes in the LegacyAppleHDAHardwareConfigDriver.kext and inject into the dsdt, we can at least get 2 channel analog sound via Green Jack from vanilla AppleHDA.kext without even any plist kexts in E/E.

  12. Hi Netkas, I had Chameleon R2 + PC-EFI V10.0 sucessfully installed to my Gigabyte X58-UD5 mobo + GTX285 setup. I had dsmos (x64), nullcpupowermanagement (x64), OpenHaltRestart (x64), PlatformUUID (x64) and ionetworking (x32) loaded individually in /Extra/Extensions folder and your latest ATI_Nvidia injector in /SLE. I had to add -x32 flag so I could get Realtek R1000 network otherwise it would not load with default x64 flag. GTX285 has full CI/QE/OpenGL acceleration with SL stock drivers. But I am surpised FireGL V7600 also worked with 2D acceleration with stock drivers albeit without CI/QE/OpenGL acceleration. Sleep does not work as expected - screen would go blank but mobo was still running and failed to come back. The Firewire GUID error still existed. The V10.0 bootloader also worked beautifully with the plain vanilla 10.5.7 Leo - no issues during boot up. For me, I would rather have kexts loaded separately in /E/E folder. This also makes the installation survived to the -f flag. Many thanks for the good work.
  13. No, I'm afraid the cmos reset is not limited to Gigabyte boards as it happened to my Asus nforce 790sli mb and Macbook unibody.
