ApolloRocket posted a topic in ATiSapphire Radeon HD 3850 AGP 512 MB only working in save boot and no QE, Q2E working Sapphire Radeon HD 3850 AGP 512 MB Driver Package needed Hey guyz, I am getting nuts with an issue regarding the installation of my Sapphire Radeon HD 3850 AGP 512MB. The card is running on a ASUS P4C800ed with Intel P IV 3.00 GHz HT and I am using iPC Osx86 10.5.6 PPF5. I have tried installation of different driver packages I found in this forum, which are: - ATI Radeon HD 3800 pcie Series 10.5.6 -10.5.x I modified both ATIRadeonX2000.kext's and NATIT.kext's Info.Plist such that it contains the correct device ID for my card: 0x9515 - ATI Radeon HD 3850 AGP - 10.5.x - 10.5.5 I modified only the NATIT.kext's Info.Plist such that it contains the correct device ID for my card: 0x9515 Furthermore I installed AGPGart.kext version 2.7.1 without any modification in its Info.Plist as I did not see any references to the device ID of the graphic card used. When booting into save mode (option -x), the card shows up in system profiler as I would expect it. It even shows that it is an AGP card: ATI Radeon HD 3850: Chipset Model: ATI Radeon HD 3850 Type: Display Bus: AGP VRAM (Total): 512 MB Vendor: ATI (0x1002) Device ID: 0x9515 Revision ID: 0x0000 ROM Revision: 113-B1480A-236 EFI Driver Version: 01.00.236 Displays: B 101910: Resolution: 1280 x 1024 @ 60 Hz Depth: 32-bit Color Core Image: Software Main Display: Yes Mirror: Off Online: Yes Quartz Extreme: Not Supported Display Connector: Status: No display connected I can enable Quartz GL as well. However, as you can see Quartz extreme is not supported and Core image is on Software. When I try to boot normally, with or without AGPGart, I just get a black or blue screen depending on whether AGPGart is loaded or not. Not even the pointing device is popping up and I have the impression that the PC hangs up completely, as the keyboard's <schift> and <num lock> keys do not show any reaction anymore. I am suspecting, that the driver packages I am using are wrong, but I could not find any other packages which seemed to be worth a trial. As I have seen in this forum, there is plenty of people out there having a xxxxx Radeon HD3850 AGP with device ID = 0x9515, but no where I could find a clear reference to a working driver package for this card. Does anyone have experience and a procedure on how to get this graphic card working in normal boot up and with all the nice QGL, OpenGL, CI, QE, Q2E modes working? - I think this biest should be powerful enough to handle this I think getting this clarified would also enjoy all other users having the same card.... Thanks in advance and btw great www page with a lot of got stuff around osx86 I got all other stuff on my PC working, mostly thanx to all the information here... keep running Apollo

ApolloRocket posted a topic in OSx86 10.5 (Leopard)Hi folks, I am a Hacintosh newby and I am happy to anounce that I succeeded in installing a distribution on my PC, details at the end for the ones who want to read the details about the setup and the procedure I use. Though, I have a problem with my graphic card I believe: I have installed NATIT, Callisto b008 (with all the little changes reg. device id, EDID as in the installation guide) kextstat shows me that Osx86 loads ATIRadeon9700 kext, thus I also updated that info.plist so it refers to CallistoFB. I can enable CI via OSXtools, but QE is not available at all. Though I read in many treads my card is supposed to support QE. Also the system profiler states under Display / Monitor that QE is not supported and that my graphic card is using SW acceleration. Also It mentions my card being a PCI card. When installing AGPGart kext it'll become AGP but it will disable CI after restart and when I try to enable it again, I get a black screen after restart. Can anyone give me a hint, what I am doing wrong, or if my system might not support QE, and if so why? One more thought I had, can the Monitor also be the cause of QE not being supported? Am I right when saying that due to QE not being active, the Leopard DVD player, Leopard Chess game and DIVx Player do crash? A last issue, is it correct that Promise Fasttrack 378 Raid Chipset is not supported at all? No way to trick around with device id's in some info.plist of some kext dealing with this? If yes, which ones would that be? Thanx for all possible answers ----------------------------------------------------------------- The set up I have: PC HW: P4C800DE Intel® Pentium 4 Prescott with Hyperthreading 3.00 GHz 4GB RAM AC97 onboard Soundprocessor Promise Fastrack 378 RAID 2 IEEE 1394 Firewire connections ATI Radeon 9600 128MB PS/2 connected Keyboard and Mouse Creative Audigy Soundcard USB Soundcard Aureon 5,1 Logitech Quickcam USB Hub for device connections USB multicard reader from Revoltec SATA and IDE and Promise RAID 378 HDD's connected Monitor: Belinea 101910 (LCD) connected via DVI Installation Medium: DVD+R Double Layer with 'iPC OSx86 10.5.6 Universal PPF5 (Final).iso' (Single Layer would be fine too, didn't have one at my disposal) MAC OSx partition allocated by Windows partitioning program at a size of 19061MB, will be needed to add kext extensions and program add ons later, in unformatted shape and named 'Leopard' After boot with iPC OSx86 DVD, select Disk utilities and ERASE partition named 'Leopard' as HFS+ journaled, non case sensistive IMPORTANT: DO NOT USE HFS+ journaled, case sensistive!!!
