  1. Radeon R9 270X framebuffer issue

Thats interesting, as i have the same card but can not get two monitors to work at the same time. Each DVI or HDMI works individually but not with two at the same time. Which Framebuffer do you use ? Did you do certain steps do make it work ? Help much appreciated!
  2. Radeon R9 270X framebuffer issue

Any chance a "normal" Hackintosh User like me who is familar with kexts and bootflags etc. will be able to get my R9 270X Asus Direct CU 2 working with reasonable performance and most importantly to simultaneous displays ? Or should i just get another card that works ootb ? Right now i have tried any combination of different Framebuffers and connectors but the system always freezes when i connect a second display.
  3. Radeon R9 270X framebuffer issue

After i got the kext working my card had the right device name, but my main problems with slow performance and only one display out working are still present.
  4. Radeon R9 270X framebuffer issue

Thanks a lot, that fixed my problem with the installer and my ASUS R9 270X DirectCU II is now recognised as a R9 270 Series card. Sadly however, i still cannot get more than one display to work, system freezes when using 2x DVI and HDMI out does not work at all. Set FrameBuffer manually to Futomaki but that didnt change anything, could it be related to GraphicsEnabler=On or does that not matter at all ? Cinebench R15 score remained at 42FPS which is lower than with my HD6870, so there are apparently some issues left. I guess the GPU is running in a lower power state or something. Anyway, thanks for help, seems i am out of luck now.
  5. I see, thanks for the info. I am fine with kexts and DSDT patching and whatnot, but framebuffer editing is taking it a step too far. Id much rather pay someone than to spend days getting that to work. Guess ill need to wait until someone with my exact same card figures this out.
  6. THat gave me hope but i already tried the stuff listed there. Anyway i tried again and posted my findings... didn't work :/
  7. Radeon R9 270X framebuffer issue

sadly this doesnt work with my ASUS R9 270X Device ID 6810. The card works out of the box as a ATI 7000 Series but only with one display. 2 Displays no matter what port will freeze on boot. Install of AMD7000.kext from this thread didnt change anything. Install from the pack takes very long and is successful but then OSX tells me that there are problems with ATYInjector.kext Any ideas? As far as i see here, it should get recognised as R9 270X but its HD7XXX instead. Any ideas? id so love to get this to work with 2 displays, man id paypal you 10$ in minute Cinebench R15 gives me 44fps with my old HD6870 and 41fps with the R9 270X, so there obviously is some kind of issue. Mavericks 10.9.1
  8. I have the same problem with my R9 270X on Mavericks. It works fine with one screen, but when i connect the second screen the OS freezes on load. No matter if second screen is DVI or HDMI. Put my HD6870 back in and it works flawlessly with 2 Monitors running from DVI (upgraded from Lion to Mavericks yesterday). This actually took me hours to figure out because i was wondering why everything froze when booting normally but worked fine in safe-mode. I figured missing drivers but in the end the card works out of the box, just not with 2 screens, which unfortunately is a dealbreaker for me. Another strange thing i observed is, with the R9 270X i get a weird boot error just before the bootloader comes up, looks like its corrupted. When i put the HD6870 in, this does not happen. I can still boot with R9 270X using the bootloader from an USB drive though. I am running 10.9.1 on ASUS P5Q Pro, Q9550, 8GB, 250GB Samsung 840 EVO SSD and HD6870 (which i would love to swap for the R9 270X if 2 screens work)
  9. Thanks so much man! That did the trick for me on my Asus P5Q Pro with Q9550.
  10. 4890 and 4870 X2

woah after numerous unsuccessfull tries to get my HD4870X2 (Sapphire) working in the last couple of month, this thread finally got it working! thanks alot! I even have both of my 24inch Monitors running via DVI immediatly. What i did: 1. Followed Morpheus Guide on Page 2, but used the newer Natit posted by Netkas one page later (actually i dont know if its newer but the link is different) 2. Installed the ATY_Motmot.kext somebody has attached as a HD4870X2.zip on page 4 (i didnt install the ATI_init_new.pkg from that zip) Thats it, seems to be working perfect now with iPC 10.5.6. Only one core though, but since both displays are working and i use osx only to work anyway (have windows installed for gaming) i dont need both cores anyway.
  11. ATI Radeon HD4870X2

    nobody ?
  12. Microphone for OSX86 with preamp ?

my osx86 box is running perfectly right now, everything works great, except the mic. I have a Asus P5Q Pro motherboard with some onboard soundcard (ALS someting). While i can get the Mic working, it is really quiet and if i pump it up the quality gets quite bad. This has worked with Windows perfectly before, under mac OS it doesnt :/ Since i do alot of business calls with my computer / voip i really need a decent solution for this so i ask you what to get: - a mic preamp so the signal is stronger and louder - an external soundcard thing which is mac compatible (is there anything like that?) - a webcam which works under osx including the mic (are there any?) Right now i use my MBP to make/recieve phonecalls which is quite energy consuming when i need to let it run all day just for that. thx in advance
  13. You, Sir, are my hero of the day! That did the trick, have wasted hours with that looking in the wrong direction. With the other mods i did to change the mac address of my backup it even resumes my old backups. Thank you!
  14. Hi there, i had Time Machine perfectly running for month. After install i got "Error obtaining mac address" but found some kext to fix that problem, it has worked flawless ever since. Then i replaced my Asus P5Q Pro motherboard with another P5Q Pro because the old one died. I restored my old OSX installation from an CCC image and everything was fine again, but now i get "Error obtaining mac address" again from Time Machine, but the fixed IONetworking.kext is still in place :/ So i googled a bit and found articles from mac pro owners who got their motherboard changed stating that TM stopped working because the new motherboard has a different mac address. I thought thats it! So i followed the steps and set up my new mac address and realized that it still didnt work, i also get that error when selecting a clean drive so it cant be the same problem. Now i reinstalled the patched IONetworking.kext over and over, cleared boot/ext cache etc to no avail, still gives me that damn error message... any1 has an idea on how to proceed instead of reinstalling the whole system ? Thanks!
  15. ATI Radeon HD4870X2

Hi there, has anyone got a HD4870X2 fully working with both DVIs ? I can only boot into the OS in the standard VESA mode, all tries to install various drivers have failed. There seem to be some solutions on netkas site, but to be honest, you seem to need 4-5 different archives and do alot of stuff which i really find quite confusing, so i couldnt get it to work. Can anyone tell me the exact steps to get in working on 10.5.6 or even 10.5.7 if i have to install that. I really want to use my HD4870X2, so i can also install Windows to play some games, right now i have a GF 8600GT in the hackintosh which works perfectly well, but its ultra slow compared to the HD4870X2. Last chance would be to replace the Ati card with a modern Geforce like the GTX280 or something, those should work without big problems i guess. Id loose quite some money on that transaction though. any help appreciated
