1. alpine password problem

hi, im trying to sftp into my 1st gen apple tv and the alpine password will not work. Ive done it before which is the strange thing. Ive tried the ip address and root@appletv.local and neither works. Im using cyberduck and ive tried it via terminal and im not getting anywhere. I have factory restored my apple tv and still no joy. Is there anyway of resetting the password or something?
2. Gigabyte GA EP45 UD3LR problems

and 1 last problem, on my screen there is loads of random dots just flashing on and off all over the screen, is there a kext fixer programe?
3. Gigabyte GA EP45 UD3LR problems

cheers for that, after some messing about it seemed to work again and now boots back up fine on the new install. I think the bios is F7, im not too sure how to flash it, or if i really need too?? I know the motherboard can get messed up if its not done right, and im a bit clueless on that side of things. The only thing now, when the computer goes to sleep and i wake it back up the graphics card fan is spinning really really fast, any ideas??
4. Gigabyte GA EP45 UD3LR problems

i think its a ram issue, just tried 1 ram chip on its own and it installed on my 2nd HD (160gig) and just tried the other one and it just flashes from dark to light blue on the osx boot up. i think this means faulty ram, can anyone confirm? also would a faulty ram chip cause the orginal install to corrupt? as i plugged my first hackintosh install HD(1tb hd) back in and i get these errors... http://i29.photobucket.com/albums/c261/ben...reat/photo2.jpg http://i29.photobucket.com/albums/c261/ben...reat/photo1.jpg So now i have swapped back to the 160gig HD i had just managed to setup this install back on, but now it wont boot into that or even into the bios
5. hello, i followed the lifehacker guide... http://lifehacker.com/5360150/install-snow...acking-required ... a year ago and had no problem. my spec is as follows... western digital 1tb hd green sata II gigabyte GA-EP45 UD3LR intel core 2 quad q9400 socket 775 2.66ghz 2x2gb corsair ram PNY geforce 512 graphics card GH9800 so come to turn on the other day and it loaded into osx 10.6 but then froze after about 30mins. as i tried to boot more, the less it would let me through the boot up process. Until it would freeze or just come up with the grey screen with black box telling you to shut down and turn back on. i have now tried to reinstall this method on a different HD but i cant seem to get any where. If i follow the same guide, it loads the bootloader, then switches to a grey screen with apple logo and flashy circle under the logo and either just hangs there forever or the dark grey screen with black box comes up again. I have tried moving my ram to the other 2 slots and im now running a memory test (http://www.memtest.org/) and it just seems to running up loads of errors. (see pic) http://i29.photobucket.com/albums/c261/ben...great/photo.jpg im a bit stuck on what to try now, apart from the ram chips on their own and going to buy/borrow some more ram, if anyone has any ideas that would be great... oh i have also tried the tonymac guide but cant for the life of me boot from the dvd i make with the #####. How ever the usb side of thing worked as far as i got with the lifehacker. so hopefully some one can tell me what im doing wrong or what to try, thankssss
6. imac ram

I was just looking around for some ram for a 20" imac (2007, 2.0ghz alu) and i came across this ram http://www.kikatek.com/product_info.php?pr...id=105095#specs has anyone heard of it, used it or anything?
7. sorry if this is in the wrong bit, but i thought i would post my build and what i did so people might find it easier to know what bits work, also i am a noob to it all so i will post it in simple terms, plus i will add i am from the uk as ive seen all different posts to say what kit people have but i have found that you cant always get the same bits in every country... Install with snow leopard 10.6 what i bought: Item: Pioneer 22x DVD±RW DL & RAM SATA Black Drive Item: Coolermaster Elite 330 Black Case With CM eXtreme Power 460W PSU Item: Western Digital 1TB Hard Drive SATAII 32MB Cache - OEM Caviar Green Item: Gigabyte GA-EP45-UD3LR iP45 Socket 775 8 channel audio ATX Motherboard Item: Intel Core 2 Quad Q9400 Socket 775 2.66GHz 1333FSB 6MB Cache Retail Boxed Processor Item: Corsair 4GB (2x2GB) DDR2 800MHz/PC2-6400 XMS2 Memory Kit CL5 1.8v Item: Kingston Datatraveler 101 8GB USB Stick With Capless Swivel Design - Pink Item: PNY nVidia GeForce 9800 GT PCI-E 2.0 now i followed the guide on lifehacker, the only thing i found is they had a 2008 bios and with the new board i bought had a 2009 bios, only 1 screen was slightly different, as long as the LAN was enabled and you copy what they put all is ok. http://lifehacker.com/5360150/install-snow...acking-required after following that guide i was amazed how quick it installed, the next bit was a bit of a learning curve but... the first bit of software i installed was little snitch 2.2, i had a few probs but was guided by pdave54, basically once you have installed Little Snitch DO NOT REBOOT, download and install Kext utility, then just double click on it and it sorts any probs out with extensions, i also dropped the Little Snitch app onto the Kext Utility so i made sure it was fixed. (when i installed little snitch and restarted i couldnt boot properly, so i had to enter safe boot to fix it as i have described, so doing this saves you having to do a safe boot) I also think the bootloader hack magic thingy from lifehacker is a hybrid version of chameleon as all the flags are the same. Thats it really, ive not had to do anything else to get it working. The motherboard had a ethernet socket onboard and that worked straight away. Much thanks to everyone who has helped or provided the info for me to build this magic box!!
8. Little Snitch on 10.6 hackintosh

AWESOMEEEEEEEEEEEEE THANK YOU for the help is there any other problems with certain programmes?
9. Little Snitch on 10.6 hackintosh

ok to add, ive just done the -x to get into safe mode, i think i must have a hybrid version of chameleon for my motherboard. then i just need to run the kext utility?
10. Little Snitch on 10.6 hackintosh

13. Guidance on setup

hey people, just wanted thoughts and views on my potential hackingtosh... I am a little bit stuck on what graphics card to get as the lists out there just seem so confusing what i plan on getting is... Intel core 2 quad q800 2.33ghz ASUS P5B-VW SE iG965 socket 775 motherboard samsung 1tb hd crucial 8gb ram kit samsung ts-h653b dual layer drive as for graphics cards ive looked at a sapphire hd 3650 and a ASUS 8500gt, Asus ATI Radeon HD 3650 and i was also told to go for a XFX GTS 250 512MB GDDR3 but i dont have a clue if that works with this whole project, so any advice would be awesome thanks
