    Intel PRO/100 VE NIC

All I can say is try to boot with -f and if it works just need to move the Networkingfamily.bundle into Extra/Extensions doesn't exist you have to make it. If after you boot with -f and it doesn't show up you need to get Chun-nan's IOPCI kext which fixed it for me. But after reboot it stops working so you have to move the networking family bundle in the extra folder. That's all I can think of for now.

I would suggest using the DSDT Patch since that's the only thing you haven't listed as an option you have tried.
  3. First off this is not the ubuntu forums. You should be glad if you get a reply in a week here. Second it might be helpful if you tell us what the network card is. I would suggest booting with "-f" that works for my Intel LAN and like br492 said update your installation. Edit: DSDT Patch might help as well just search the forums.

Ended up having to install DSDT patch in order for the system to recognize it.

After spending most of the day working on the driver, I concluded that something is wrong with my installation. For some reason the driver cannot get access to create an IRQ source which leads me to believe that this driver should work fine, it is something else that is screwed up something with the PCI drivers.

I am still in the process of moving out of school, but hopefully by the end of the week I will begin development. I have never written a driver but I have over 8 years of programming experience and hopefully I will be able to get something together. I have 2 great projects to learn from so I am not worried too much it will be just a matter of getting the work done.

I am inexperienced in mac programming, but as soon as I have some free time, I am going to try and port the linux driver over to mac. I already gathered the source code and downloaded xcode and so on. I have been looking into other open source mac drivers and such. Currently I am looking over source code for the 8566x or whatever that NIC is that is based on the e1000 source from linux. Edit: I probably won't be able to start development until next week when I actually get home and I am officially done with school.

Chun-Nan's IOPCIFamily.kext was a no go. It gets loaded along with IONetworkingFamily and AppleIntel8255x.kext but nothing is showing in System Preferences -> Network LSPCI lists the network card as there, but other than that I don't know how to check to see whether the system actually knows it's there. dmesg has nothing about it not being able to load or anything networking related. There are some PCI address lines that weren't there before which assume is from adding the IOPCIFamily kext. I am running Voodoo 9.5.0 kernel as the others cause problems with ACPI kextions missing and such. Could the kernel be an issue? I noticed that people who have gotten it to work use 9.2.0 Edit: I should probably mention that I am running iDeneb 1.4 (Mac OSX 10.5.6) with the above kernel on an Intel 945 Chipset and network device id 0x10928086

I have Satellite A100-036 and I cannot to save my life get my ethernet to be recognized. VID = 8086 and Dev = 1092. Is that an iDeneb 1.4 (Mac OSX 10.5.6) issue or is it just some random driver incompatability?

Same problem here, have tried every .kext I could find and it's like it doesn't even want to recognize it. And I have the same ID 1092 Running on Toshiba Satellite A100-036
