  3. Guys... I've tried everything I can think of. I set the boot flag on and off like 20 times, nothing changed. I tried setting my osx partition to boot, same error. I try loading the install disk for osx- I just get the installation screen. I even tried using all the fdisk options. I tried fixmbr, which did nothing. I can't find an achi (ahci?) setting in my bios setup. I'm pretty sure my windows partition is set to active, as I have the boot flag checked... I think it may have to do with an error with the bootloader. In gparted, my windows partition does still say not mounted however... I've completely run out of ideas. I've searched google, read every thread here involving the phrase "error loading operating system" and still have nothing. I wanted to try to access chat to talk to some people, but haven't gotten chat to work. If anyone has any plausible idea... I'd be glad to try it haha EDIT: FIXD- use testdisk from gparted live boot cd
  4. Hello. I recently wanted to try running OSX86 on my Dimension 3000 desktop. I followed the newbie guide located here: http://wiki.osx86project.org/wiki/index.ph...DualBoot_10.5.2 I chose this older one because the guide was very simple and easy to follow. So following the directions, I first hit one problem. I already had XP so I had to reformat my partition sizes to create a separate 25gb mac partition, taking memory from my NTFS XP partition. That went fine. In the installation though, I couldn't format the FAT32 partition and realized that it had to be set to "active" in windows disk management, so I did that. This allowed me to completely install osx 10.5.2 according to those directions. When I get to the part to use gparted, I get into the application and set my ntfs partition to "boot". Weird thing I saw there though was that that partition was not mounted... I ignored this. When I restarted I get the error saying "Error loading Operating System" when trying to get into XP. I've tried almost everything and have been scouring the internet for forever, but to no avail. I did find this topic which posts the same problem: http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=106850 The user unfortunately did not post the solution, but just stated that he fixed it... I have tried using Windows Recovery Console to fix the boot problem, but that didn't do anything at all. I am new to this, and have no idea what to do. I've seen multiple topics like this, but I can't find a working solution If anyone can help, I would truly appreciate anything. Thanks so much
  5. I have an old PCV-RX650 that i would like to install Leopard on. Here are the specs: Intel® Pentium® 4 Processor 1.60 GHz 1 GB PC-2100 DDR RAM 80 GB HDD with a 20 gb HFS+ partition 3D Fuzion GeForce FX5500 ASUS P4B266LM Not very good, I know. But I found a post by someone who got OSx86 10.4 working perfectly on the same comp. If 10.4 can work, then will 10.5? I have already downlaoded and installed iAtkos 5i 10.5.5, but when i try to boot leopard it only restarts. I've tried all the boot options like -v and cpus=1, but it still just reboots. I'm doing the default customize options, is that the problem? Or should i try another kernel like iDeneb or Kalyway? Some help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.
  6. Please help

  8. Help With My OSX86

I'm pretty sure I tried that on one of my other installs but maybe it was in conjuction with something else. I guess I'll try to install, again (install takes so long).
  9. Help With My OSX86

Okay, hi guys I have been trying to install OSX86 on my computer for 2 days and I need some help. I am installing it on a fresh HDD with iDeneb v1.3 for 10.5.5. My first install went smooth but after the restart the computer automatically kept rebooting no matter what boot options i used. This I fixed by tweaking some things in my second install, mainly by changing to StageXNU kernel. Now after the restart it gets to the Apple logo with a spinning circle and stays there. I have tried all the different boot options. In verbose mode i stop at the: MAC framework successfully initialized xxx headers and xxx sections or whatever Do you have any suggestions to fix my problem? Thanks in Advance. BTW, my PC is a ECS P4S5MG/GL+ Info link: http://www.ecs.com.tw/ECSWebSite/Products/...D=1&LanID=0 Thanks again.
