  1. Best Budget ATi Video Card?

    Hello and welcome to the forums! I would recommend an nVidia card: http://wiki.osx86project.org/wiki/index.ph...L_10.6.7#NVIDIA This is the list of compatible hardware for Snow Leopard, but if you are using Leopard, then use this list: http://wiki.osx86project.org/wiki/index.ph...L_10.5.8#NVIDIA Hope it helps
  2. GEtting native Support for HD4200m ?

    I looked for a few hours today and you can run OSX, but you won't have QE or CI enabled, meaning that you won't be able to run certain apps, like iMovie, Aperture, Quicktime etc
  3. GEtting native Support for HD4200m ?

    I'm not 100%, but I don't think it is supported in OSX :/
  4. will this ati card work in snow leopard?

    It is natively supported in 10.6.7, as shown on the HCL at OSX86 wiki HD 5770 1GB XFX HD 5770 (Dev ID: 0x68B8) is now natively supported in 10.6.7, full QE/CI with GraphicsEnabler=No! See following post for install information[23] Yes VGA/DVI/HDMI Yes Yes Yes I have this card in my other hackintosh and it works beautifully with OS X 10.6.7 Here's the HCL: http://wiki.osx86project.org/wiki/index.php/HCL_10.6.7#ATI Hope it helped
  5. Here is how to get your ATI Radeon HD 4650 working in Snow Leopard with everything working My System Specs: Gigabyte GA-MA69VM-S2 AMD Athlon 64 X2 4800+ XFX ATi Radeon HD 4650 1GB PCI Onboard HD Audio Files you need: http://www.mediafire.com/?2u72i00u331l78x At the moment, I can only get this to work in 32-bit mode, but I am pretty sure it will work in 64-bit mode. Firstly, you'll need the kexts attached to this post (thanks to Sincro77 for providing them). THESE KEXTS HAVE BEEN PRE-MODIFIED WITH THE DEVICE ID'S SO THAT YOU DON'T NEED TO CHANGE ANYTHING (0x94981002) Enabling Full Resolution, QE and CI In the folder named 'Tools' there is a tool called 'Kext Helper b7' - drag this to your applications folder, and then place in your dock (we'll be using this tool a lot). Next, in the folder called 'Kexts' there are 2 more folders - one called 'Full Resolution' and another called 'QE and CI'. Open the first folder, ('Full Resolution'), and drag all 3 kexts to Kext Helper b7 in your dock Enter your password in the 'Password' field, and then click 'Easy Install'. After this, quit Kext Helper, (it may not let you - in this case, right click on it, then click 'Force Quit'). Next, go to the folder called 'QE and CI', and drag those 4 kexts to Kext Helper b7 in your dock. Enter your password in the 'Password' field, and then click 'Easy Install'. Fixing the 'Extra' Directory Go to your System Root, then double click the 'Extra' folder. Go to the 'Extra' folder in the attachment, and copy all of the files from there into the 'Extra' directory in your hard drive, overwriting any files already there. Finally, copy the com.apple.Boot.plist to this directory: (system root)/Library/Preferences/SystemPreferences/ Installing the new bootloader Go to the folder called 'PCEfi 10.6', and double-click the DMG Install to your boot volume, (normally your main hard drive). Finally, copy the 'boot' file in the attached folder to your system root, (MAKE SURE YOU BACKUP YOUR OLD BOOT FILE) Now Pray and Reboot! If it successfully works, you should see something like this: If you do not have any QE, CI, or Native Resolution, type these 2 commands into console, and post them on here, along with your exact card info: sudo -s kextutil -t /System/Library/Extensions/ATI4600Controller.kext and sudo -s kextutil -t /System/Library/Extensions/ATIRadeonX2000.kext Hope it works for you

  8. ATI Mobility HD4570 Help

    Hello, I have an ATI Mobility Radeon HD 4570, (0x95531002), and cannot get QE and CI to work on it. I have tried patching the ATIFramebuffer and the ATI4600Controller kexts, however I cannot get get the QE or CI to work. At the moment, I followed a guide on the chinese forums that had success with the HD4570, but I cannot get it to work. I patched the ATIFramebuffer in 0xED with the following codes from Kizwan's post (http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=253132) Shrike (with correct Transmitter & Encoder based on the "Dong's RadeonHD's verbose log"):- CRTC0 > DIG1 > UNIPHYB > HDMI: Encoder=0x00 Transmitter=0x20 CRTC1 > DIG2 > UNIPHYE > LVDS: Encoder=0x01 Transmitter=0x12 CRTC1 > DAC > DACB > VGA: Encoder=0x10 Transmitter=0x10 Patched connection table (32bit):- CODE --> 00037298 02 00 00 00 40 00 00 00 09 01 00 00 12 01 00 01 (LVDS) --> 000372A8 10 00 00 00 10 00 00 00 00 01 00 00 10 10 01 06 (VGA) --> 000372B8 00 08 00 00 00 02 00 00 00 01 00 00 20 00 02 02 (HDMI) Patched connection table (64bit):- CODE --> 00010F80 02 00 00 00 40 00 00 00 09 01 00 00 12 01 00 01 (LVDS) --> 00010F90 10 00 00 00 10 00 00 00 00 01 00 00 10 10 01 06 (VGA) --> 00010FA0 00 08 00 00 00 02 00 00 00 01 00 00 20 00 02 02 (HDMI) This gives me a blank screen, however the backlight is on, so I think it is detecting the LVDS. When I plug in a VGA monitor on boot, it does not detect a signal, and I cannot test the HDMI output as I don't have any HDMI monitors Can anyone help me or send me your working files so that I can test them please?
  9. I managed to patch my ATIFramebuffer and I inserted my Dev. ID into ATI4600Controller.kext (0x95531002), and also used a modified boot file that contained Peregrine, and my system boots HOWEVER there is noting on my internal display, but the backlight is on. There is no output on my VGA display, and I can't test the HDMI port as I don't have a HDMI screen. Can anyone help me?
  10. Mobility 4570 Energy saving

  11. Can you send me the files you are using to do this? I have the exact same graphics card as you but cannot get this to work :/
  12. Editing custom personalities for ATI Radeon HD[45]xx

    Hello (: I need your help :censored2: I have and ATI Mobility Radeon HD4570, and cannot get QE or CI to work. I have tried using multiple Ati4600controller kexts, and also ATIFramebuffer kexts that were patched for the Dell Studio 1545 (same graphics card - 0x95531002) Can you help me to get the right kexts to enable QE and CI on the internal display? (LVDS I believe) I can get into SL through safe boot. Thanks in advance
  13. Hello everyone I have a Sony Vaio VGN NW20ZF/S with an ATI Radeon Mobility HD 4570 (Dev. ID 0x9553). I have a working installation of Hazard Leopard 10.6.6i, however I have a few issues. I can get my native resolution (1366x768x32) through the boot flag, however I cannot get QE or CI I used the files from this thread: http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/index.php...=0#entry1655710 but I didn't use the DSDT.aml as it caused a kernel panic on boot. When I boot with -v and GraphicsEnabler=Yes, it goes past 'DSMOS has arrived', then it just repeats something about not being able to handle a trap, then the machine restarts. EDIT:- Managed to get the details of this - 0x56ac8718 : 0x21b45b (0x58ee62 0x2 0x56ac8768 0x223adb) Warning: invalid kernel ip, won't attempt to handle trap Debugger called: <double panic> The only way that I can get into SL is with the -x flag. Could someone please help me? Many Thanks in advance
