  1. [GUIDE] 1st Generation Intel HD Graphics QE/CI

It's been awhile since I posted here, but I decided to toss the laptop I had in the trash and ended up buying a Mac. I picked up the 15' Retina fully maxed out. Ran me over $3,000, but... I'm glad I bought it, because it's the best computer I have ever owned! PERIOD! With all these problems with hackintoches (mind you that I built a total of 5 of them.) nothing compares to running a real Mac. No more instantly tweaking, no more hacked kexts, no more hoping it will boot up. no more problems. I know everybody likes to go the cheap route, but I tell you that it's better to save up for a real one. Get rid of your headaches for real.

How do I enable Airplay Mirroring?
  3. Your how-to seems very confusing to me. So I add this code (With my edited BAR0, BAR1, BAR2, etc..): OperationRegion (BRIT, SystemMemory, 0xB0048254, 0x04) Field (BRIT, AnyAcc, Lock, Preserve) { LEVL, 32 } OperationRegion (BRI2, SystemMemory, 0xB0048250, 0x04) Field (BRI2, AnyAcc, Lock, Preserve) { LEV2, 32 } OperationRegion (BRI3, SystemMemory, 0xB00C8250, 0x04) Field (BRI3, AnyAcc, Lock, Preserve) { LEVW, 32 } OperationRegion (BRI4, SystemMemory, 0xB00C8254, 0x04) Field (BRI4, AnyAcc, Lock, Preserve) { LEVX, 32 } To here: Then add this code: Name (_HID, EisaId ("LCD1234")) To Here: and this code: Device (PNLF) { Name (_HID, EisaId ("APP0002")) Name (_CID, "backlight") Name (_UID, 0x0A) Name (_STA, 0x0B) Method (_BCL, 0, NotSerialized) { Return (Package (0x13) { 0x64, 0x32, Zero, 0x06, 0x0C, 0x12, 0x18, 0x1E, 0x24, 0x2A, 0x30, 0x36, 0x3C, 0x42, 0x48, 0x4E, 0x54, 0x5A, 0x64 }) } Method (_BCM, 1, NotSerialized) { Store (0x80000000, LEV2) If (LGreaterEqual (Arg0, 0x64)) { Store (0x12FF, LEVL) } Else { If (LGreaterEqual (Arg0, 0x5A)) { Store (0x11FF, LEVL) } Else { If (LGreaterEqual (Arg0, 0x54)) { Store (0x103A, LEVL) } Else { If (LGreaterEqual (Arg0, 0x4E)) { Store (0x0EBB, LEVL) } Else { If (LGreaterEqual (Arg0, 0x48)) { Store (0x0B24, LEVL) } Else { If (LGreaterEqual (Arg0, 0x42)) { Store (0x0873, LEVL) } Else { If (LGreaterEqual (Arg0, 0x3C)) { Store (0x065B, LEVL) } Else { If (LGreaterEqual (Arg0, 0x36)) { Store (0x04C8, LEVL) } Else { If (LGreaterEqual (Arg0, 0x30)) { Store (0x0396, LEVL) } Else { If (LGreaterEqual (Arg0, 0x2A)) { Store (0x02B0, LEVL) } Else { If (LGreaterEqual (Arg0, 0x24)) { Store (0x0266, LEVL) } Else { If (LGreaterEqual (Arg0, 0x1E)) { Store (0x0218, LEVL) } Else { If (LGreaterEqual (Arg0, 0x18)) { Store (0x01D1, LEVL) } Else { If (LGreaterEqual (Arg0, 0x12)) { Store (0x0191, LEVL) } Else { If (LGreaterEqual (Arg0, 0x0C)) { Store (0x0161, LEVL) } Else { If (LGreaterEqual (Arg0, 0x06)) { Store (0x0132, LEVL) } Else { If (LGreaterEqual (Arg0, Zero)) { Store (0x82, LEVL) } Else { Store (0x11FF, LEVL) } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } } Method (_BQC, 0, NotSerialized) { Return (^^PCI0.GFX0.DD02._BQC ()) } Method (_DOS, 1, NotSerialized) { ^^PCI0.GFX0._DOS (Arg0) } } To here: If this is how it is I'm getting errors when trying to compile.... 4. Q: First of all, what version of OS X are yourunning. I need to know that before I can help you with anything else. A: 10.8.4 ML Q: Please clarify what "screen brightness and battery doesn't work" means. Do you mean you can't boot up without AC power? A: Sorry that's part of the fn keys to change the brightness of the display. Q: What happens when you try to use the HDMI/VGA port? Is anything displayed in DIsplay Settings? A: Nothing happens. I'm using: http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/286092-guide-1st-generation-intel-hd-graphics-qeci/ for the graphics. We are currently look for someone that is good with hex edit to edit in HDMI and VGA out. Q: Sleep of death could be a BIOS setting or a Power Management configuration issue. Please post your power settings and make sure HPET is set to 64-bit in the BIOS. A: That option isn't available in my BIOS settings. I'll try that ethernet kext and see if that works. Thank you.
  5. Hello, Thank you for your help. I'm running an ASUS K52F with a few issues. 1. It refuses to wake when put to sleep. 2. The fn keys are not functioning correctly. 3. Screen Brightness and battery doesn't work. 4. HDMI and VGA doesn't work. 5. Ethernet doesn't work. I attached my DSDT and system information to the thread. If I can get this all working I plan to add it to the wiki for others that have the same system. Thank you. Things I got working so far: 1. Got CE/QE working on laptop display. (Added DSDT edit to remove Natit.kext) 2. Sound working with custom VoodooHDA.kext (Not sure if it's possible to inject the codec into the DSDT without using voodoohda.) 3. Wifi is working with custom IO80211Family.kext 4. SD Card reader using VoodooSDHC. 5. Keyboard and mouse AppleACPIPS2Nub.kext and ApplePS2Controller.kext. dsdt.aml.zip

amen to that bro! I wish I know how to start coding so I can do more help around here and get more drivers completed... One thing I want to learn really soon is how DSDTs work so I can help create a list of DSDTs for people to download.
  7. [GUIDE] 1st Generation Intel HD Graphics QE/CI

Just want to give a thanks to GhostRaider for making this happen. Good stuff bro!
  8. [GUIDE] 1st Generation Intel HD Graphics QE/CI

I can't believe how well 10.8.4 works on my system. Minecraft used to laaaggg on Windows and when I installed it on OS X it runs soooo smooth. I just don't understand how people can be so blind to REFUSE to try out OS X.
  9. [GUIDE] 1st Generation Intel HD Graphics QE/CI

    Which Kexts are you using?
  10. [GUIDE] 1st Generation Intel HD Graphics QE/CI

Update: Good news! I got QE/CI working! Bad news... Can't get the HDMI port to work... I tried LCD+DP and LCD+VGA, both not working for HDMI port.
  11. [GUIDE] 1st Generation Intel HD Graphics QE/CI

ok i'll keep trying and let u guys know what's up. thanks
  12. [GUIDE] 1st Generation Intel HD Graphics QE/CI

PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_0046&SUBSYS_1BE21043&REV_18 Same device, but it's not an "i" series processor. I tried the QE/CI, and it froze. So I tried to remove the kexts and it gave me a garbled display. Had to reinstall the OS... If you need a test subject I can have you remote in and do what you need to do.
  13. [GUIDE] 1st Generation Intel HD Graphics QE/CI

I have the same video card but do not have an "i" series CPU. I'm using Intel Pentium dual-core. Is there a way to get it working for this?
  14. Thank you all for your help. I installed software to read the Mac HD in windows and removed the Kexts for graphics and got it loaded up. I'm trying out those kexts in the Intel thread now and so far no good. I'm updating the OS to 10.8.4 now to see if that makes a difference. Quick question? Anybody know where I can get an ISO that is a live cd of Ubuntu? Thanks in advance!
  15. It's ok. GUID is a partition table format and not a partition file system. Anyway I posted a picture. It has me clueless of what to do...
