  1. I'd also like to know the answer to this. Anyone??
  2. Need to install mac os, but wich one?

FWIW, I gave up on Leopard for the time being. Went back to XXX 10.4.11. By far, my fav version of Tiger. Everything works well and it'll hold me over til someone puts together a trouble free Leo disc. Good luck!
  3. Hi, BlackCH. Thank you so much for your terrific work and hanging around to answer everyone's questions. Just wanted to let you know that I've been using your 10.4.10 disk for a while and have been very happy with it. I started playing around with Kallyway's Leo a few weeks ago, but I've been having problems with it. Downloaded your 10.4.11 disc and everything is back to working great! Just a couple of questions: first, are you going to release a Leopard disk? You'd be my first choice for a good, problem-free and comprehensive install. Second, Is there a problem with the Disk Utility on your 10.4.11 disc? I tried partitioning my drive with it, but the only version that didn't return an error was the older version on your 10.4.10 disc (v10.5.8). Just curious. Thanks again! JBD
  4. Noob Problem

I've been having problems too. I haven't heard about the SATA ports - can you explain in more detail? diaolosh: sorry, but your Emu card isn't going to work.
  5. GUID install fail?

I'm having the exact same problem and it's driving me crazy. Everything was great with XXX 10.4.10. I don't really care to try iAtkos because I want to use the vanilla kernel for updating purposes. Hope somebody can help...
  6. Just saw this at the Bombich software site and was wondering if anyone has used it to dual-boot a Hackintosh / XP system: http://www.bombich.com/software/bootpicker.html "BootPicker runs on startup immediately prior to LoginWindow. Based upon your configuration, it presents an option to the end user to choose an operating system. Upon choosing that OS, the machine either continues to Mac OS X or reboots to the specified OS. The next time the computer is rebooted, it automatically returns to Mac OS X and the boot picker. Finally, for environments that require management at a large scale, or management while the machines are turned off or booted to a different OS, BootPicker can be managed via a Mac OS X Server Open Directory Master. Got AD? That's OK, you can leverage that as well. You can even run BootPicker from a logout script to give every new visitor to your lab machines the opportunity to choose their OS without rebooting."
  7. I ended up taking my ECS board back to Fry's and traded it for a Gigabyte GA-945GCMX-S2. Installed XxX Tiger 10.4.10 and everything seems to work really well. Gotta figure out the dual booting w/ XP, but I'm pretty happy so far. Can't wait to try Leopard! This seems to be a great board - highly recommended! jbd
  8. Nevermind my previous question - I kept the processor, but ended up returning the ECS board for a Gigabyte. I'll be installing tiger today, so I'll see how it goes. The ECS seems like a cool board for the money, though! I wonder how well it works with leopard? Maybe for a future build...
  9. I recently got an ECS 945GCT-M (v2.0) mobo for my hackintosh build. Looks like a decent inexpensive board. Apparently, the v1.0 board has the ALC 883 chipset which I've heard can be patched to get sound to work. However, my v2.0 revision board has an IDT 92HD202 audio chipset. Just wanted to see if anyone knows if this chipset is supported for OSX86 or if it can be patched. I tried searching, but couldn't find any info. Thanks in advance for any help!
  10. Hey, guys. Fry's just had the ECS 945GCT-M / E4500 combo for $118, so I picked one up. Apparently, it's a newer version of the 945GZT. From your experience, how far can you overclock this board and what did you have to do to get there? Also, what type/brand of RAM would you guys suggest with this board? This is going to be my first Hackintosh experience, so any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance! JBD
