  1. [GUIDE] Installing Lion DP4 + GM Without USB(Video)

I used the same procedure for Mountain Lion. It was all the same except that the packages folder was in a different location. I use the same Chameleon version und Kexts as for 10.7. Ethernet didn't work initially, had to install the RealtekRTL81xx driver and things are fine. Greetz, e1ement
  2. [GUIDE] Installing Lion DP4 + GM Without USB(Video)

10.7.2 kills AppleHDA again but everything else works flawlessly.
  3. [GUIDE] Installing Lion DP4 + GM Without USB(Video)

10.7.1 works fine. Just had to reinstall AppleHDA.kext.
  4. [GUIDE] Installing Lion DP4 + GM Without USB(Video)

Put this in your SMBIOS.plist and you're good to go: <key>SMcputype</key> <string>1793</string> <key>SMserial</key> <string>H09300AS4PC</string> Just check that you don't have those entries twice in your SMBIOS.plist and replace existing ones. If your audio and network isn't working yet, get those Kexts from Still Win Fan and install them one after another with Kext Utility (just drag on drop onto Kext Utility icon). Greetz, e1ement PS: Those lines above are only for Nehalem Core i7 1366 and MacPro4,1.
  5. Thanks man. Finding a Serial Number for MacPro4,1 wasn't easy but now it says "Mac Pro Early 2009"
  6. Hi, my Lion install works perfectly except one cosmetical issue. See for yourself: It says MacBook Air (original) below the Mac Pro line. I'm using Chameleon RC5. In /Extra/Extensions are AHCIPortInjector.kext, FakeSMC.kext and IOAHCIBlockStorageInjector.kext. com.apple.boot.plist <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?> <!DOCTYPE plist PUBLIC "-//Apple Computer//DTD PLIST 1.0//EN" "http://www.apple.com/DTDs/PropertyList-1.0.dtd"> <plist version="1.0"> <dict> <key>Kernel</key> <string>mach_kernel</string> <key>Kernel Flags</key> <string>boot-uuid=DE3852B4-67BE-35AE-90BE-E05713F8737C rd=*uuid</string> <key>GraphicsEnabler</key> <string>y</string> <key>SMBIOSdefaults</key> <string>Yes</string> </dict> </plist> smbios.plist <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?> <!DOCTYPE plist PUBLIC "-//Apple//DTD PLIST 1.0//EN" "http://www.apple.com/DTDs/PropertyList-1.0.dtd"> <plist version="1.0"> <dict> <key>SMcputype</key> <string>1793</string> <key>SMbiosvendor</key> <string>Apple Inc.</string> <key>SMbiosversion</key> <string>MP41.88Z.0081.B07.0910130729</string> <key>SMbiosdate</key> <string>02/23/2009</string> <key>SMboardmanufacturer</key> <string>Apple Computer, Inc.</string> <key>SMboardproduct</key> <string>Mac-F221BEC8</string> <key>SMfamily</key> <string>MacPro</string> <key>SMmanufacturer</key> <string>Apple Inc.</string> <key>SMproductname</key> <string>MacPro4,1</string> <key>SMserial</key> <string>W88033AKY51</string> <key>SMsystemversion</key> <string>1.0</string> <key>SMUUID</key> <string>DE3852B4-67BE-35AE-90BE-E05713F8737C</string> <key>SMmemtype</key> <string>24</string> <key>SMmemspeed</key> <string>1600</string> <key>SMmemmanufacter</key> <string>Apple Computer, Inc.</string> <key>SMmemserial</key> <string>100000000</string> <key>SMmempart</key> <string>1</string> </dict> </plist> Any ideas how to fix this? e1ement
  7. [GUIDE] Installing Lion DP4 + GM Without USB(Video)

http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=256729 Get the matching files from "Post Installation" and put those Kexts to Extra/Extensions.
  8. [GUIDE] Installing Lion DP4 + GM Without USB(Video)

So, today I installed Lion twice on my computer. First time just to test it on an older hard disk and the second time I replaced my Snow Leopard. Yet, there are two issues I get: About My Mac says something about "MacBook Air (original)" which is probably just a cosmetic issue and wake up from sleep doesn't work. Since I have some older Kexts in my Extra/Extensions folder I might try some newer ones to get wake up from sleep working. As I posted above, I have the same issue with the "MacBook Air" thing, yet, my Lion tells me the correct CPU. Just google for SMcputype and put the correct lines into your smbios.plist. e1ement //EDIT: The computer justs need a little action (mouse click) so the black screen disappears and it wakes up from sleep.
  9. [GUIDE] Installing Lion DP4 + GM Without USB(Video)

Alright, I currently use another one on my Snow Leopard installation. Did ethernet work for you in Snow Leopard without an additional driver? Because it does for me.
  10. [GUIDE] Installing Lion DP4 + GM Without USB(Video)

    What DSDT.aml did you use?
  11. I just updated to 10.6.4 and everything worked after the update except audio. So I just had to replace AppleHDA.kext in /System/Library/Extensions with the one from my previous post and I was ready to go. e1ement
  12. Hey there, Sound is working just fine for me in 64-Bit-Mode. I use one of the first DSDT.aml from Bchemist, IOAHCIBlockStorageInjector.kext, OpenHaltRestart.kext and fakesmc.kext in /Extra/Extensions and the AppleHDA.kext from iFabio's post in /System/Library/Extensions. Everything works flawless*. I added the files I use as attachment. e1ement * I haven't tested FireWire so far. //EDIT: I have not applied the Mac Pro Audio Update. AppleHDA.kext.zip com.apple.Boot.plist.zip DSDT.aml.zip Extensions.zip smbios.plist.zip
  13. I really doubt that speed will improve. Even with C-States enabled my CPU would run at load at the default value of 2.8 GHz. I use the second or third DSDT posted in this thread. It runs smooth, so I don't think I will change it if there's no proper reason. Yeah, I know I have to replace it on S/L/E/, but as I said, I want to leave the Snow Leopard partition completely untouched and vanilla, so I'd definitly prefer to go via EFI/Extras/Extensions. e1ement
  14. No and no. Never change a running system. And as long as it is only a reporting error (which it is) I don't care. Btw. is there a proper fix for audio in 10.6.3? I don't want to touch the S/L/E, prefer keeping it vanilla. e1ement PS: I got around 9500 Points in Geekbench.
  15. Hey fellas! Once I reported that my CPU temperature was significantly higher without NullCPUManagement.kext and SleepEnabler.kext. I deleted those two to be able to update to 10.6.3 (update is downloading right now). Unfortunately I didn't have my automated fan control at that time, but now I can report, that the temperature reported (by iStat Menus) is wrong. It is 12° C higher (= 52° C) than it was with those two mentioned kexts. At 52° C my fans would go RAWR at that temperature, but they don't. The sensors of the fan control, which are mounted the closest possible to the CPU, report the same values they reported when I had those 2 kexts. Using Windows 7 (which is still my main system) I get exactly the same temperatures. Hope I could help. e1ement btw.: Nothing is overclocked atm, all running at stock speed.
