  1. Thanks! Your setup works fine for me even on El Capitan. Was able to boot with cpu set as Penryn and everything looks fine, including my GTX 960 and sound. Also had major issues with mouse and keyboard lag passing my USB2 Host, solved by enabling the USB3 host in BIOS, connecting to it and passing through it instead. May help somebody.
  2. Im using a ATI X1600 Pro 256MB DDR2, forgot to mention it above. About the render my score was 392, not bad for a 100€ A64 3200+ (overclocked of course).
  3. For the best ATI X1600 out of the box its the Asus X1600 XT Silence Version, just on that one u will get DVI working. All the others X1600 DVI will not work with exception of some Dual DVI X1600 (no VGA connector). About the board i dont know, didnt use Intel for a while.

  5. borisbadenov ATI X1000-series Solution

Yep that Asus dont have the DVI issue, you can use any type of connector but still only single display still no dual display . Its the only advantage over all other X1600 PRO/XT/XL.
  6. why 100%cpu in 10.4.6 ?

Do u got windows sharing turned on in Sharing ? That's a common bug in Mac OS even Macbooks got this problem. Just turn off the windows sharing of ur folders or fix it in /etc/smb.conf (search forum for the fixes).
  7. borisbadenov ATI X1000-series Solution

So, shouldn't a flash with a Bios from the Asus card work ? Im pretty sure it should work at least to fix all the XT's and maybe even some Pro. Anyone with a Silence Version can post his bios here?
  8. borisbadenov ATI X1000-series Solution

After a small talk with some guys at irc, we verified that the most significant difference between Silence Version from Asus and all other cards is the VIVO. Anyone else got a XT card with VIVO there are a few models from other vendors? If yes is DVI working in that case ? We are trying to find out what's making the DVI to work in some cards and dont in others.
  9. borisbadenov ATI X1000-series Solution

Hum strange. Are u using all kexts from 10.4.6 ? All my kext's are 10.4.6 and it works properly. Now my monitor even sleep properly, before it only freeze instead of sleep. Do u got S3 only enabled in bios? Tryed the USB legacy ? Now i got my Sata disk turned off, dont know if it matters to the sleep. If u need any kext's to try just pm me. Good luck there.
  10. borisbadenov ATI X1000-series Solution

Yeah nice. Thanks munky and hanschien. Just plugged in the dvi->vga and connected my tft there and sleep started working even with AppleHWSensor deleted. Still some minor issue in sleep, my lan device dont recover so i have to run a script that kextunload and kextload, but its 2 seconds with Quicksilver. So to get sleep working just choose S3 for suspended state in Bios (S1 dont work here) and use the DVI-VGA connector and plug ur display into the adapter. So, two more issues to solve, DVI in all X1X00, and Dual Display. Im pretty sure that omni can solve both pretty easily, its just make a new kext that read from a file what original Mac OS read from EFI driver. Someone try to contact omni, i know he is pissed but he got a X1600 too
  11. borisbadenov ATI X1000-series Solution

aberracus, any chance that u can post ur bios here ? To try a diff with other normal X1600 XT bios. Just get atiflash, make a startup floppy disk (dont know if its possible under mac os) and run atiflash -s 0 silence.bin. Sorry for asking u again this
  12. borisbadenov ATI X1000-series Solution

Thanks alot. From what i can see from the ioreg the Asus Silence version can detect a a connect LCD display, "ATY,ConnectedFlags" = <04> and "display-type" = <"LCD"> , all other cards or at least my Asus X1600 Pro and only a tft display connected at DVI it dont detect anything (check dvi.rft), and with a normal CRT monitor it detects "ATY,ConnectedFlags" = <22> and "display-type" = <"CRT"> (check crt.rtf). So my conclusion is that something in Asus X1600 XT Silence bios make Mac OS X detect a connected DVI display and every other cards it doesnt. Is it possible to flash a XT with the Asus XT silence bios ? Im pretty sure u can flash a normal XT from MSI with a XT Saphire bios for example, but im not sure because of the diferent thermal management of the Silence (no fan only heatpipe) but it would problably solve the DVI problem. I can try to post this on the ommi forums and ask him to take a look. Any other card got sucess with DVI or just some Asus Silence version ? Maybe some strange XL or something, that make the bios swap easier. Any sugestions to solve this problem ? Sorry for my english. dvi.rtf crt.rtf
  13. borisbadenov ATI X1000-series Solution

Curlyboy i think that sleep only works on Intel systems, at least it looks like. About the DVI problem i think it should be anything on the Asus X1600XT Silence bios, that make the Mac OS detect the LCD display. Anyone tryed to flash a normal XT with ASUS XT silence version bios ? It could take some problems because of the diferent thermal options of the silence version (no fan ?), but it should make the DVI work properly. Anyone with a Asus X1600XT Silence and a DVI display can post here a ioreg -l (ioreg -l > file.txt) and attach file ?
  14. wich video card?

To work properly with FCP without mouse tearing etc and decent OpenGL, u will need a Intel 950 or a ATI X1600/1800 and use boris method. Im using the second option and the only problem is the missing of the DVI connection to my TFT. U can get a X1600 for less than 100€.
  15. borisbadenov ATI X1000-series Solution

Anyone with a Asus X1600 XT Silence with DVI working could post here a ioreg -l ? I want to check something. Thanks in advance.
