  1. It is pretty obvious now that people have paid 2000 dollars and more for computers which are far from perfect. Heat, whine etc... As time goes by and Apple finds out what the problem was, do you guys think that they might acknowledge these issues and rectify it for customers full satisfaction ? I am a recent switcher and would like to know if Apple did such a thing in the past, where they accepted a fault and then rectified it completely.I shudder to think what happens a year from now, when (hopefully) faultless MBP's and MB's will be in the market with far superior specs and we will be trying to sell this used and 'faulty' computers incase we want new ones. I have heard that even in used market Apple products get a premium, will it be true in this case as well ? It looks like we might be in trouble when we will be selling our used MBP's few months/years down the line. ===== I had posted above post in Apple discussions and they deleted it. --------- Please read our Apple Discussions Use Agreement so that you may discover what constitutes an appropriate post to our service. Can you guys suggest a good lenovo machine where I can run Mac OS ?
  2. Hi, About a week back I got a 15.4" MBP which is a 'bit' problematic with heat/whine but 'tolerable' Temperature does not cross 60 C and whine can be heard only if I place my ear to the keyboard. However I am seriously tempted with the black MBP and have received an offer from a friend who would like to buy my MBP less 10% ; with this money I could get a Black MB and max out with 120 GB HDD and another GB of RAM Do you think I should go ahead ? I am checking the forums and people are having problems with MacBooks as well,so should I just use this for a year and then go for Rev B/C/D MacBook. To begin with I had been waiting for the MacBook which was perfect for my needs but went in for the MBP after I got tired waiting.
  3. Should i get a mac?

heat/whine and some other issues I am having here like the mild electric shocks which I get. For some reason, my fingers become very numb on this machine. I don't know if this is actually 'static' rather than electric energy.(sorry if this sounds silly)
  4. Should i get a mac?

I am a switcher and the MacBook Pro is my first mac ; although I used iBook for a few months before. I am regretting this switch and wish I had stuck to WinDOZE and the Microslops !! This is most probably my last mac and I will be making the switch again. === I would not recommend anyone to buy a mac in 2006 ; come back in Jan 2007 and take a look around. If there are no problems then consider a mac.
  5. Kurosbride,Can I PM you ? If you are really an insider, maybe you could help me
  6. Sorry Kuros - don't take it personally I am a bit mad here since I am getting mild shocks here once in a few minutes. I will be taking it to the service centre on Monday so let's hope for the best. The Call centre guy had told me there was no need for it since it might be my fault (with my power supply) which I know now is not the case.
  7. I think first step should be to set up a separate website for that purpose where people can come togheter and start contributing !!
  8. how bout this site - iWhine.org or whiningmacs.com ?
  9. Kurosbride - you seem to have registered on this board only to post in this thread I think Apple should atleast acknowledge that they have messed up. These are not 10 dollars toys that we have here - we have spent nearly 2000 dollars in getting these machines. I am from India and I have spent 2800 dollars for my 1.83 MBP. I purchased it five days back. Along with heat/whine , I am getting electric shocks from my MBP , I had called up the Call Centre Help here in India and he took me on a merry go round without addressing the real issue. It is only after reading these forums that I found out what the issues are. ---- Really, this is a defective product tort and we should be talking to some law firms who specialize in class action lawsuits against Apple. That will get this problem fixed much quicker than "whinning". --- I suggest lets start a separate thread to discuss this further ; maybe purchase a separate domain and forum, set up paypal donations and create a group which will fight this lawsuit.
  10. Apple should atleast acknowledge the problem, if they refuse then I am seriously thinking of making the switch and go back to the dreadful 'Vista' or XP
