    Wireless - AR9280

Confirming that Atheros 9280 on the 1000HE is supported on Snow Leopard out of the box. no configuration or additional programs/drivers required. Shows up as an Airport card just like a regular Apple card.

Radiance, can you provide some details on how you installed Snow on the 1000HE? What guide did you follow? Im getting KPs no matter what I try. I have tried directly installing Chameleon RC3 and I have also tried the netbookinstaller method.

    SL on Asus EeePC 1005HA?

I echo this request. Im getting KP's on my 1000HE, cant get Snow to boot. Is there anything specific to the 1000HE we need to make this guide work?

Thireus, you rock. This version is it, I think. Tested all functions on 1000HE. All inputs and outputs working, including microphone in. Better labels in the sound pref pane-thank you for that. Now it says Internal Microphone and External Microphone where before it just had generic "Mic" and you had to guess which was which. In the Output tab, it now says "Speaker/Headphones" and autoswitches when you plug in headphones in the jack. Sound is very clean-both recorded and digital sound from Itunes. I played Itunes through the external speakers, plugged in headphones during the song and it picked it up no problem. Recorded myself in audacity using both external mic and internal. FWIW, I just installed it using Kext Helper, without taking the old kext out of the Extensions folder. Please read the whole post if you are an EEE user doing this for the first time since you do have to delete appleazaliaaudio.kext and remove audiee from your login items for this to work.

    AzureWave AR5891 (Atheros AR928x) driver

Here's the info on the card I bought. http://tinyurl.com/d2jsf9 The number BCM4321 is what is listed on the ebay page, there was nothing on the card itself that matched this exactly. I have also seen this card listed as BCM94321 The seller did not list it with the “9″ in the number. Here’s the whole info on the card from System Profiler/Airport Card after install: Wireless Card Type: AirPort Extreme (0×14E4, 0×88); Wireless Card Locale: Worldwide; Wireless Card Firmware Version: Broadcom BCM43xx 1.0 (5.10.38.27)

Thireus, thanks! Your new version is working on a 1000HE (internal mic). I haven't yet tested the mic port.

    2wire USB network adapter drivers?

Yes, sorry for the typo, Zydas is right. I can't swear to the version number-I seem to recall the one I used was 1211 or something (its saved on my flash drive somewhere) If you dont have any luck with the one you found, post again and ill look it up for sure.

    2wire USB network adapter drivers?

Yes, I got my 2wire USB adapter to work using the Xydas drivers that are linked on this site (sorry, cant remember where exactly, just search). Those work with the 2wire USB adapter-assuming you have the same one I do. Mine is a flat silver rectangular thing with a mini usb cable and a popup antenna. Let me know if you can't find them here and I'll try to recreate my search. I bet if you search for Xydas you will find them.

    AzureWave AR5891 (Atheros AR928x) driver

I totally understand. Taking it apart is not an easy process, and yes, may void the warranty. Having done it once, I would not want to do it again. That said, I am glad I did it now that the wireless card swap is done-I have native airport in my 1000HE. There seems to be enough interest in the 1000HE and this particular card that maybe someone will be able to get the driver ported. Might as well be patient and see what happens.

    AzureWave AR5891 (Atheros AR928x) driver

Hello Hoptek, As far as I know, there's no driver yet for the 928x card in the 1000HE. If you haven't already looked at it, you might check out the extensive comments over at http://smallcomputing.net/2009/02/25/how-t...-1000he-netbook for more info. Theres a bunch of us over there with 1000HEs working on a bunch of different issues. No one has gotten the original wireless card to work yet, but 4 or 5 of us have switched to Broadcom wireless cards and have it working now. Its a pretty hard process to replace them but not impossible.
