    ASUS P5N73-AM, Intel Quad Core...

I have this motherboard the asus p5n73-am with 4 gig of memory nvidia geforce 512mb 8400 gs and have installed iPC Mac OSX 10.5.6 which all now works well (thanks to the community!) apart from I cannot get the ****@& sound to work at all [/b] - I ORIGINALLY installed Kalaway 10.5.2 and tried every solution going including a "guaranteed" one: cart-pati-appleac97audio.kext which actually nuked my installation. I have tried the appleac97 variants and also nvinject latest and azalia and mistico but all fail!! PLEASE help me resolve this as all else is working fine. Oner thing as a newbie although a dos and windows veteran is that I don't understand how to remove an audio driver that hasn't worked so have had to reinstall each time. Sad I know but no amount of searching the site enables me to catch up with some of the more obscure stuff. Please guys don't always assume that I know to return at the end of a sudo line - just treat me like the noob I am and tell me fully what to do please! I have set the bios to ac97 although the onboard audio is a via hd sound - the audio codec is via vt1708b. I thought of installing a compatible PCI audio card but the spare pci is fouled by the graphics card - great design ASUS! I would especially welcome a simple solution to this problem that won't screw up my system again! Thanks Graham

    ASUS P5N73-AM , Kalyway 10.5.2 Install

I also have the ASUS LCD Monitor VK246H which is supposed to be MAC compatible. THe monitor works with x darwin drivers but the built in 1.3 megapixel webcam not working at all. Ideas for this also welcomed! I would especially welcome a simple solution to this problem that won't screw up my system again! Thanks Graham
  5. kalway used in the end. ACHI used in bios for hard disk cured waiting for root device problem.

  6. Bought and installed this. ACHPI selected in bios seemed most important to get beyond the "waiting for root device" error. Sound not currently working. Hoping that I can just plug in dlink router as don't want to have to buy apple airport card to get internet working. Any comments?
