  1. I also didn't have this problem with 10.5.7 previously, so it's very possible that 10.5.8 broke something with DSDT.
  2. I also tried booting without DSDT and when I did that and generated a new DSDT the Alias lines came up, I removed them, and then tried to load that DSDT.aml, but still no luck. It looks like DSDT is loading correctly, and that the processor is being correctly detected. Anything else I could try? Is it 10.5.8?

  4. Still no luck, it won't even boot without cpus=1.
  5. I'm running: 10.5.8 vanilla MSI X58 Platinum SLI LGA 1366 Intel X58 ATX Intel Motherboard Intel Core i7 920 Nehalem 2.66GHz LGA 1366 130W Quad-Core Processor Drive enabled as AHCI HPET enabled Chameleon 2.0 RC2 When I try to boot without CPUS=1 a couple of dozen lines scroll by very quickly and then the computer reboots. When I open dsdt.dsl, I don't see any Alias lines at the beginning, and it looks like this: Scope (_PR) { Processor (P001, 0x01, 0x00000810, 0x06) {} Processor (P002, 0x02, 0x00000000, 0x00) {} Processor (P003, 0x03, 0x00000000, 0x00) {} Processor (P004, 0x04, 0x00000000, 0x00) {} Processor (P005, 0x05, 0x00000000, 0x00) {} Processor (P006, 0x06, 0x00000000, 0x00) {} Processor (P007, 0x07, 0x00000000, 0x00) {} Processor (P008, 0x08, 0x00000000, 0x00) {} } I then rename it as dsdt.aml and pass it through the patcher again, move that file to /DSDT.aml, and then try to boot without any luck. Is there something critical that I'm missing? I am using DSDT Patcher 1.0.1e and last time I tried this I didn't have any problems. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Patching DSDT with iatkos 7

Still no luck. This is what I am doing: Is there anything else I should be doing? I still can't boot without CPUS=1

    Patching DSDT with iatkos 7

Thanks! I just went ahead and updated Chameleon, which seems to be working fine, but I can't tell if it's loading DSDT.aml and it's not configured properly (as I can only boot with cpus=1 with an i7/9.8.0 vanilla). I guess I'll just go from here and keep trying to get it working

    Patching DSDT with iatkos 7

Hi, I'm reading through a DSDT patch guide right now and I'm trying to figure out whether or not I need to update Chameleon as well so that it supports DSDT.aml, or if the version of Chameleon 2.0 that comes with iatkos v7 will just support it natively. Does anyone know off-hand? take care, c
  10. I've managed to get past that now by setting the drive to IDE under RAID in BIOS, and manually putting the drive in as Master. My new problem is attached, when booting with cpus=1 busratio=20 -v If I boot with cups=1 busratio=20 -v -x I am able to enter safe mode, but I still can't figure out how to fix this. I hope this helps anyone else with the same problem, also.
  11. I've managed to install Leopard using iATKOS 5i, with the voodoo kernel, however, I still can't successfully boot. Trying with hyperthreading disabled and legacy usb support off, along with cpus=1 and busratio=20 I receive the attached image as my screen.
  12. Here's what I see on my monitor, attached: Also, I've tried with my SATA HD plugged into either the black or red ports on the motherboard. I've played around with the BIOS settings to the best of my ability, nothing seems to help at all. I've tried with the DVD-RW drive in a USB enclosure or as an IDE drive plugged into the motherboard.
  13. Still no luck, I verified the components to make sure that they were OK, no problems there.
  14. Hey everyone, still trying to figure this out. Any hints would be very helpful!
  15. Here's the build I'm trying to use: Memory: OCZ 6GB (3 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1333 Video card: EVGA 512-P3-N884-AR GeForce 9800 GTX+ Superclocked Edition 512MB 256-bit GDDR3 PCI Express 2.0 x16 Motherboard: MSI X58 Platinum SLI LGA 1366 Intel X58 ATX Intel Motherboard Processor: Intel Core i7 920 Nehalem 2.66GHz LGA 1366 130W Quad-Core Processor Hard drive: Western Digital Caviar Green WD10EADS 1TB SATA 3.0Gb/s Hard Drive Optical: Philips DVD-RW through USB I've tried with both XxX 10.5.6 and iPC's latest release with no luck. I'll boot from the DVD, I'll be given a boot prompt where I can boot normally or press F8 for options. I press F8 and use the -v option and attempt to boot: I see a bunch of lines like this: Loading HFS+ file [[mach_kernel]] and then what appears to be: Starting Darwin/OSx86 and then nothing, it reboots. All of this flashes, but there doesn't seem to be much information available. It's the same thing no matter which I try. I am going to try iDeneb next but it will take a while. Is there anything else I can try, is this a software problem or might something be wrong with my hardware? Thanks for any help! I've also tried cpu=1 -v and that didn't seem to work either. Hyperthreading is disabled in BIOS, also no luck.
