  1. Well it's been a long time now since I posted last here and I just thought that I would share with you my new install. I have Snow Leopard 10.6.4 Installed and working on my Asus Blitz Formula Special Edition. Blitz Formula SE Intel Core 2 Duo E6600 2.43GHz 5 Gb of ram nVidia Geforce 9500GS 512meg D-Link DBT-122 Bluetooth USB HL-DT-ST DVDRAM_GH15N SATA Marvell Yukon Gigabit Adapter 88E8056 Marvell 88E8081 Ethernet Hitachi HDT725050VLA380 Maxtor 6L100M0 WDC WD2500JS-60MHB1 ST3320820AS Apple Bluetooth Keyboard, and mighty mouse Restart, shutdown both work! (sleep not used/tested) I have taken a new screen shot of my updated setup... Everything works for my right now but I would like to tweak the DSDT file to add the sound (ad1988b), GFX (nvidia 9500GS 512), SATA and USB fixes. But for now everything is working. No need to fix what isn't broken. First I updated the Bios from a usb drive in the Asus Ez flash util in the bios (had 1101). Then I installed the system from a USB drive like normal. Rebooted with the USB drive and picked my newly installed system (10.6.0) After finishing the setup of the new system I installed Chameleon to the installed HDD then added all of my files from the zip file to /Extra/ Once everything was copied to the HDD I restarted the system again to make sure everything was working. Once the system was up again I ran the apple software update and installed all of the updates including the 10.6.4 update. Once the system rebooted again my system is right where it is at now fully updated to 10.6.4. Everything I use goes in the /Extra/ folder so the machine is running as Vanilla as I can get it for the moment till I mess with the DSDT file. My com.apple.boot.plist is set with -v arch=i386 EDIT: Well I have messed with the DSDT now and got everything working like I wanted too. I have my DSDT.aml file, com.apple.boot.plist, smbios.plist and my Extentions.mkext file with only 6 kext files.. FakeSMC AD1988Bfix OSXRestart EvOreboot IONetworkingFamily (for Marvel Yukon 80e8056) Skge (only if I turn on the 2nd network adapter) EDIT #2: Well after a few days of testing I now have my Extensions down to 4 Kexts only! FakeSMC 2.5 AD1988BFix EvOReboot IONetworkingFamily (has driver for Marvel 80E8056 (Yukon2) and skge for Marvel 80E8001) same DSDT.aml and boot.plist as before Still haven't tested Sleep yet (still not needed) but since I think I have it running as good as I can right now I will start to test things out. Will keep you posted DSDT.aml had these fixes added: Added GFX0 under P0P2 device to give me full resolution and QE/CI on my Geforce 9500 GS (no need for any Nvidia injectors or anything in com.apple.boot.plist) Added USB fix to have all USB port show as internal Added SATA fix, all HDD show up as internal(not Orange) and all SATA port listed show as ESB2 just like a Mac Pro (no need for the IOAHCIBlockStarage or AHCIPortInjector files) Added RTC0, TMR, and HEPT fixes, (no need for NullCPUPowerManagement or AppleRTC) Here Is the download link..... 2. Dell Inspiron 1525

well I am at work right now and dont have all of my kext files but let me see what i can do to get them here and upload them so you kids can play with them. PS: my sd card reader does work.. I am looking into editing the DSDT.aml file to add support for Network, Airport(dell cards), and sound. if anyone can help with getting the sigmatel 9288 pin configs, and other info it would help, maybe from a good working 10.5.8 install. Edit: Uploaded Files.. Cycne: allow the laptop to get back to that same point then when the screen goes black pull the power cord and close the lid. Give it 20-30 mins and it should have gone to sleep. Open the lid and push the power button it should wake up and u can finish the setup. When it gets to the desktop install the dsdt.aml file and make sure ur boot loader will use it (chameleon rc-1 or 2 will work). Then u can reboot and all should be good in video land! EnCoDeD
  3. Dell Inspiron 1525

Go see netkas (http://netkas.org) for AppleIntelPIIXATA it works great, and if you don't have FakeSMC grab that up as well well your over there. Edit: One side note, if you use /Extra/Extensions/ then you should have ATAPortInjector.kext and IOATAFamily.kext
  4. I don't know how many people out there have a Dell 1525, but I thought i would try and help as many of them as I can. I have mine working with Snow for a few weeks now, and it runs good. I have made my first attempt of making a post installer for this laptop to make it easy on some people. It has all the kext files, DSDT.aml, and boot file that works correctly on this laptop. I would like some beta testers for this so please if you need this PM me and I will send you the link to d/l. EnCoDeD
  5. I have 2 dvd drives in my system, one is my dvd-rw and one is a dvd player I can get the system to find both of them , and I can use the dvdrw just fine including the eject button on the taskbar. Now if I stick a dvd into my dvd rom it most of the time will show up on my desktop, but I can't ever use the taskbar eject button, and I can use it in a VM (vmfusion or paralles) is there anyway that i can get both to work? Please let me know thanks EnCoDeD
  6. Asus P5K-E and P5K Premium users

only thing I can think of is to uninstall it, reboot, then re-download it and reinstall.
  7. Asus P5K-E and P5K Premium users

what version are you running of the system? .0, .1, .2, .3, .4, .5? can you get the wired connection working ?
  8. Asus P5K-E and P5K Premium users

It will show you an ethernet connection, you actualy have to use the Realtek USB WLAN Utility you will find it in the applications dir. Most pf the time it will load it self up on startup and if you add a profile to it , it will connect to that profile when leopard starts up.

glad it worked for you. If you need more help just ask.

XP1 when you use the Boot 132 cd to screen asking to boot hit the ESC key and it will give you option on what to boot, you can then take out the boot cd and replace it with the retail dvd. At that point wait till the dvd light stops and then you can just hit enter 2 times. it sould then boot from the retail dvd. I use this method to install my system so I knwo it does work on this board. I have a dif vid card and dvd drive as you but the dvd drive you have is SATA and I know that works. You can check the Bios and make sure that SATA mode is set to AHCI and try again. EnCoDeD
  11. 5.1 chanell speakers on ad1988b

I have the same board with 5.1 speakers, and I can only get 2 ch + sub out of it. I don't know if Taruga is working on the driver anymore as it does "work". You can post a msg on his site (wiki.taruga.net) when it's back up (down as of today 10:05am EST). It would be nice to have the 5.1 on my hack.
  12. ADI AD1988b sound support?

I can't tell you about that I have only tried the optical output to make sure it works. You can always try the V3 of the installer and the try plex and see if that works for you.
  13. Asus P5K-E and P5K Premium users

when you boot after switching out dvd's (retail install) make sure you hit F8 then type -v so you can see what is going on and take a screen shot so we can see where it is stopping at and fix it from there....
  14. Asus P5K-E and P5K Premium users

Yes it could be do you have a SATA drive to test with or a USB one? now I don't know if your board uses the Jmicron IDE controler but you can add the kext to the dvd and see what happens.. I only use SATA drives.
  15. hp dv6000t laptop

I wanted to know if anyone can help.... I have a Hp Pavilion dv6700/Dv6919ca (as the service tag shows) AMD I have to fix it now as to being bricked. So well I have to re-flash it anyway, I would like to take the bios lock off for my Atheros 5007 card so I can replace it with a working dell 1490 I have sitting here. The only Bios I found for my laptop is here, F.30 Dv6919ca I will be getting the USB floppy tomorrow (I hope) to fix the brick.
