[Guide] Getting XFX HD6850 connectors to work

Thank you so much! This works great for me. I can now how HDMI and DVI at the same time. I don't seem to have audio over HDMI but I don't actually want that as I want to use optical audio out since I don't always want the big screen on.
  2. I have a very shocking suggestion for you... If you can't be bothered to read the question and don't have an answer keep your pie hole shut. The answer is: SwitchResX Once installed you have to enable the "enable/disable" context menu item in its system pane configuration settings. Then you can right click on the desktop of the monitor and chose the "Display is active" option. To re-enable the monitor click on the ScreenResX icon on the menu bar and click on "Display is active" again.

    Intel DG45ID Success installation

Got my video working for an ATI X1900: http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=145114 And onboard sound (IDT): http://forum.voodooprojects.org/index.php/topic,139.0.html I now have a fully functional Mac Pro for $400 and some spare parts. ----- "Fully Functional" in a non-fully functional way I should say. Like no sleep still.

    [REQ] IDT 92HD73E Driver

I've got that same motherboard and now I have everything pretty much working. Video, network, usb, and now sound, wooo hooo! I'm using VoodooHDA 0.2.2 and it works. So far. Even says the spidif is active but I'll have to wait till I get somewhere with an optical input to test it. The audio out of the green plug in the back works great, listening to music now. http://forum.voodooprojects.org/index.php/topic,139.0.html Now I have a quad processor 2.66GHz Mac Pro for less than $400 in new parts and maybe $300 in used parts I already had. Sweeeet... but I still want a real Mac Pro.

    x19x0 driver 10.5.6

Grazie mille di cuore! I've got an ATI X1900GTO (0x724b) with 256MB and this worked perfectly where no other kext worked. Natit.kext rebooted my computer and NVInject is a joke. Your's on the other hand was easy as pie (if you already know about Kext Helper) Now if I could just get my eVGA 8800 GTX 768MB to work... Thanks again!

intel G45 chipset and x4500 graphics...

Yeah, I upgraded to 91 and it is MUCH faster and way less flakey. Have the USB and LAN fixes and I figured out to put a copy of my active partition on a scratch partition and I screw with the settings on that one. Then when I can't reboot it can just go back to my good partition. --- And now I've got audio too: http://forum.voodooprojects.org/index.php/topic,139.0.html

    Intel DG45ID Success installation

New USB driver linked by Underball works great. I also updated to BIOS ID0091 and it is WAY faster and seems to work better as well. The best thing is the annoying, freak you out, PROCHOT text is no longer there. I HATED that pointless text. Of course it still doesn't tell you the actual temp of the CPU but oh well. Also using "Graphics Mode"="1600x1200x32" works great to get you a usable screen. Now to try my 8800 GTX... didn't work before.

intel G45 chipset and x4500 graphics...

One thing I'm finding with this board is get your BIOS set and never touch it again. If you do ANYTHING in your BIOS you will have to reinstall the OS! I've got the 77 board and am not upgrading the BIOS as per Carlos. But the system has been pretty flakey so I might just give up on it, update the BIOS, and install WinBlows WePee. I also was not able to get an EVGA 8800 GTX 768MB card to work with it (or another board). Oh, also don't unplug your keyboard/mouse as they will not come back on.

    Creative Open-Sources Their X-Fi Driver

Too little too late. I will NEVER buy a Creative Labs product EVER again All because they attacked a kid for making a driver that worked with Vista when they claimed it wasn't possible... but you could buy their new hardware and it would work... if you also bought their crappy software update too! So no more Creative (or E-Mu) products for me ever again.

    Intel DG45ID Success installation

I'm posting this from my DG45iD (stupid 'i') using the ethernet (Intel82566MM.kext) but I have no audio yet and only 1024x768. Only took about 15 mins to install total! I was also able to use the firewire from boot to get on the net using internet sharing via my real Mac. Now I need to see if the HDMI will work on my TV. Oh, and this thing BLAZES compared to my little Mac Mini. Man I hope I can get this totally working, mostly, I love OSX. This would make a killer HTPC, which is kinda why I bought this MB.
