1. I did though, thats the thing... Is it only for 64 bit or something? Can my cpu run it?
2. Hey everyone, I have been working on getting a perfect Snow Leopard install for the past week, and I can't seem to get audio working! Here are some basic specs: Intel Pentium 4 NVIDIA 9500GT 2GB DDR2 RAM Realtek ALC860 (DEV: 0880 and VEN: 10EC) **This is what Windows 7 tells me, and the Realtek program in Windows tells me that it is an ALC860 codec... I just got through updating to 10.6.6 from iAtkos S3 10.6.3 I had to patch ethernet myself and all that, but everything is now working perfectly EXCEPT audio! I have tried installing the VoodooHDA kext, but I get a kernel panic on every reboot... Even after uninstalling AppleHDA, I get the kernel panic with VoodooHDA.. so I booted into safe mode and removed the damn kext and now I am running fine in normal mode... Can someone please help me with this issue? Audio was supposed to be the easiest thing to fix and it has turned out to be a {censored} to patch/ find the right kexts.. Any help will be greatly appreciated!
3. Okay thank you, that kernel worked like a charm! I am now running 10.6.6 and I got my Marvell Yukon Ethernet to work by patching the plist (adding DEV and VEN to the plist), and the last thing is trying to get the freakin AUDIO to work! In windows 7 I checked my DEV and VEN and I know the codec... It is the Realtek ALC860, and I have tried installing VoodooHDA but I get a kernel panic... I have tried VoodooHDA and a few other kexts and I absolutely cannot get this to work... Everything else works! If anyone knows what I can do to get this audio to work, please help me out!
4. Hey I'm wondering if anyone can help me.. I have a Gateway 700GR with a Pentium 4 CPU, 2 GB RAM, and an NVIDIA GeForce 9500GT. I'm running iAtkos S3 10.6.3 and everything works except ethernet and audio (that's not my problem though) I am about to update to 10.6.6 via the Combo Update and I am wondering what I need to do to not get a kernel panic after updating. I have read all over the internet that I need to delete the SleepEnabler.kext and that's it. I am going to use ##### after the update, but it doesn't have any options to install a modded kernel for my Pentium 4. I am wondering what I need to do in order to update safely and install a modded kernel after the update.. Any help is appreciated! Also, I am dual booting with Windows 7 and I really don't want to install the bootloader and all that {censored} again if this update ends badly. lol
5. Snow Leopard on Dell inspiron 6400/E1505

Hey, I am trying to install Snow Leopard on the same computer and I just found this on google. lol But, for the cursor issue, have you tried Voodoo kexts? That is what I had to use in order to run BOTH cores on my Dell and in order for my trackpad to work... This is all after updating to 10.5.8 btw. Look up "Voodoo Trackpad PS2" in google and you should find it easily. **Sorry if I am replying to an old thread, but I'm just wanting to help.
6. Toshiba Qosmio X505-Q885

Hey, i apologize for the extremely late response (i haven't been online). But, just needed to know if hackint0sh would work with this computer. I don't have this computer yet, right now I'm rocking a Dell Inspiron E1505 kalyway But I searched a lot and found this computer, and I really like the hardware that it has for the price. And for the people who do have it, is it a good laptop?
7. Toshiba Qosmio X505-Q885

Hey I'm going to buy a new laptop, the Toshiba Qosmio X505-Q885, and I just need to know if it is able to run Mac OS X Snow Leopard with the hardware that it has. I absolutely despise Windows, and the whole reason why I'm buying a new laptop is so I can have a very fast computer without paying the EXTREME price that Apple is asking for, for the same hardware basically. And I don't want to just dump $1300 on a new laptop and it not be able to run Mac. lol So, here are the specs: http://www.bestbuy.com/site/Toshiba+-+Qosm...p;cp=1&lp=2 Intel® Core™ i5-450M processor Features a 3MB L3 cache and 2.4GHz processor speed with Turbo Boost up to 2.53GHz. 8. New OS X86 Install Help

Thanks, I will post the results here. It shouldn't be too hard considering I've already successfully installed it on my laptop.
9. New OS X86 Install Help

You know, I probably wouldn't have thought of that. Thanks, that should definitely help. lol
10. New OS X86 Install Help

Alright, thanks! Anyone else have some input on where I could get the kexts after install with iAtkos?
11. New OS X86 Install Help

Ok, cool! Thanks a lot! Now, what about ethernet and all of the other hardware? Are the kexts all in the iAtkos dvd?
12. New OS X86 Install Help

Hey everyone, I am trying to install Mac on my friend's computer and he has some unusual hardware. I have already installed mac on my laptop successfully and all I need to know is what distro is compatible with the hardware. I also need to know, once I install the base OS, what extra kexts I need and where to get them. I have done some research but I couldn't find much. I was going to do a Kalyway or and iPC install, but they dont provide the kexts that I need. Also, this is a 64 bit CPU. 13. Hi, I'm new to this forum, but not new to computers . I just have a few quick questions.... I have a Dell Inspiron E1505, --------------------------------------------------------------------------- CPU: Intel Core 2 Duo 1.67 GHz RAM: 2 GB DDR2 SDRAM Intel GMA 950 Integrated Graphics Chipset (it sucks, I know) Network: Broadcom 440x 10/100 Integrated Controller Sound: Sigmatel Audio 9200 --------------------------------------------------------------------------- *---------------------------------------------- Kernel: 9.3 Vanilla Bootloader: Chameleon 2.0 RC *---------------------------------------------- I installed the Kalyway 10.5.2 install DVD, and then upgraded to 10.5.3 using the Kalyway Combo Update Package. In order to get my graphics to work, I had to do the whole "movevideodrivers /" thing. I don't remember what the command was. Ok, so there is my system info and history, I'm currently at Kalyway 10.5.3. I've heard, by using the official Vanilla Kernel, that you can update to 10.5.7 using the "Software Update" Is this true? I know that you must have the "Disabler.kext" and "AppleDecrypt.kext" in order to do this. I need to know if I can update without doing ANYTHING and just use the Software Update, or if I need to do a few things like DSDT patching or using different kernels and what not. Also... do I need to patch my DSDT if I am running the Vanilla Kernel? Any help is greatly appreciated, thanks for helping.
14. Hey Mysticus C I installed Leopard 10.5.5 Combo update using your method and it worked, the sound, internet, graphics, everything was working. But 3 days later and now my sound is out, yet wifi still works. I've tried re-installing the AppleAC97Audio.kext with Kexthelper, but when I re-boot still nothing. I am using the backup kexts that are installed and still nothing. Can you please help me, I'm working on my iPhone app and I need sound to test it. I'm running a Dell Dimesion 3000 with: 1GB RAM 2x 512MB RAM Gateway Standard Speakers (though that doesn't really matter) Intel Celeron Processor 2.6 GHhz 1 CD-R Drive (I use DVD Drive from other computer) 80 GB Harddrive
