  1. AMD and Retail Snow Leopard 10.6.5 --> 10.6.8 Final[GUIDE]

    Hi Mohamed, I used bootCD 1.6, attached is a photo of the requested screen.
  2. AMD and Retail Snow Leopard 10.6.5 --> 10.6.8 Final[GUIDE]

    Hi, I too have gone through all 30 AtiConfig framebuffer entries. I either get a hang just before the graphics should appear or I get a screen that is black with 4 columns of white vertical bars and misc snow. I have a HD4870 512MB VisionTek running in a Asus M3A32-MVP Deluxe, 2 GB ram, AMD 9850 Phenom. I run Leopard 10.5.8 and 10.5.6 on two different HD's with no problems. Looking to move to SL on it's own drive but can't get past this video??? problem. any suggestions would be appreciated. Oh yes, 4870 Bios I also ensured there is no overclocking set. Cheers
  3. A Simple Guide to the 4830/4850/4870/4870x2/4890

    Ran the install once - rebooted without the -f option then enabled Quartz GL followed by another reboot. amazing difference. Working without the 10.5.7 OpenGL.framework on my Visiontek 4870 512MB card. I have switched resolutions successfully, current 1680 x 1050, turned on Quartz GL. Connected DVI port 1 (closest to motherboard) with DVI to VGA adapter ACER AL2216W monitor. I have a DVI to VGA adapter in slot 2 (farthest from motherboard) on my 4870, but it is not connected to a monitor. My monitor shows correctly under Displays in System Preferences. Thank you very much to the people who made this possible.
