  1. Thanks macgirl, you've already helped me 99% of the way there Also thanks esthetik, followed your instructions and speedstep with 9.2 is working fine, but still no battery.
  2. Well, I was able to get everything matched up withe the 1.1.0 ACPIPlatform, but still no battery no matter what I do. Any idea what else could be different? 18 8 0x548de000 0x4000 0x3000 com.apple.iokit.IOACPIFamily (1.2.0) <12> 19 4 0x5492c000 0x3d000 0x3c000 com.apple.driver.AppleACPIPlatform (1.1.0) <18 17 12 7 4> 27 0 0x5a864000 0x3000 0x2000 com.apple.driver.AppleACPIPCI (1.1.0) <19 18 17 12> 33 0 0x5ab10000 0x4000 0x3000 com.apple.driver.AppleACPIButtons (1.1.0) <21 19 18 7 6 5 4 2> 41 0 0x5b00c000 0x2000 0x1000 org.tgwbd.driver.ACPIPS2Nub (1.0.0d1) <19 18 12> 68 0 0x54a27000 0xc000 0xb000 com.apple.driver.ACPI_SMC_PlatformPlugin (3.1.2d1) <67 66 18 17 12 7 6 5 4> 83 0 0x5aa18000 0x4000 0x3000 com.apple.driver.AppleACPIPowerSource (1.0.5) <19 18 12>
  3. I'm using PowerManagement_137_1.bundle.tar.gz It would seem that I need AppleACPIPlatform 1.1.0, where can I find it?
  4. Its not an available option in my energy saver sys prefs.
  5. No errors that I see, but still no battery: bash-3.2# kextload -t /System/Library/Extensions/AppleACPIPlatform.kext/Contents/PlugIns/AppleACPIPowerSource.kext kextload: extension /System/Library/Extensions/AppleACPIPlatform.kext/Contents/PlugIns/AppleACPIPowerSource.kext appears to be loadable kextload: extension /System/Library/Extensions/AppleACPIPlatform.kext/Contents/PlugIns/AppleACPIPowerSource.kext is already loaded bash-3.2# kextstat | grep ACPI 18 8 0x548df000 0x4000 0x3000 com.apple.iokit.IOACPIFamily (1.2.0) <12> 19 4 0x5492d000 0x3d000 0x3c000 com.apple.driver.AppleACPIPlatform (1.0.5) <18 17 12 7 4> 28 0 0x5a8ab000 0x3000 0x2000 com.apple.driver.AppleACPIPCI (1.0.5) <19 18 17 12> 30 0 0x5aa9d000 0x4000 0x3000 com.apple.driver.AppleACPIButtons (1.0.5) <21 19 18 7 6 5 4 2> 68 0 0x54808000 0xc000 0xb000 com.apple.driver.ACPI_SMC_PlatformPlugin (3.1.2d1) <67 66 18 17 12 7 6 5 4> 76 0 0x54859000 0x4000 0x3000 com.apple.driver.AppleACPIPowerSource (1.0.5) <19 18 12> 77 0 0x5485d000 0x4000 0x3000 com.apple.driver.AppleACPIThermal (1.0.5) <19 18 12>
  6. Did that. I have IOACPIFamily 1.2.0 and AppleACPIPlatform 1.0.5, both entered in AppleACPIPowerSource.kext within the AppleACPIPlatform.kext plugins.
  7. My 1530 does the same thing, drives me crazy because it only happens after installing the 10.5.2 nvids, even the one in software update does the same thing. I did get the audio to work correctly, but with 10.5.1 and the power management bundle I was able to get battery status as well. With 10.5.2, no battery info.
  8. With kalyway 10.5.1, the kalyway 10.5.2 update package, and the new vanilla kernel I was able to follow this guide: http://forum.insanelymac.com/index.php?sho...=81294&st=0 8600m GT is working great in EFI mode on my 1530. Otherwise the NVInstaller worked in either 10.5.1 as well.
  9. Almost everything working on my 1530, except the audio (besides fan sensors and sleep). I used the STAC9228_0x83847616 and it worked great after one reboot, after that the devices still show up but no sound. I installed AppleACPIPowerSource.kext and sound worked again after first reboot, but not after more. Used the NVInstaller again and go figure, sound worked when I rebooted but the next reboot nothing. Kalyway 10.5.1, vanilla, did not convert to EFI strings yet

AppleHDA Solution - Work in progress

STAC9228_0x83847616.zip Worked on my 1530, but I get no sound after reboot. Tried re-installing, permissions, no change, devices show up but no sound comes out. UPDATE: Installed AppleACPIPowerSource.kext from macgirl's guide and suddenly it worked after restarting. Then, restarted once more to verify and it was gone again. Any ideas? Clearly it works, but something seems to be re-set on boot that disables it. UPDATE: After installing the nvid kexts from the NVInstaller, again it worked on first boot then not on any after that. Is a cached version of something taking over? I got rid of as many as I could think of and still had the same result.
  11. I had this problem with iATKOS this morning, also left the video drivers out because there is a better installer for the 8600. What I did was power it down after the video came up the second time (actually 3rd or 4th but who's counting). After that it booted and finished the account setup and it worked fine.

    borisbadenov ATI X1000-series Solution

My xbench was a bit low so I checked a few things in Pref Setter and found that Quartz2DExtremeEnabled was set to "false" after setting it to true and rebooting it upped my UI performance significantly. Just someting to check, I'd be interested to know if this was the case for others as well.

I am using both outputs on the X1800XT, one with the dongle and one straight dvi. When I load XP I use the DVI, when I load OSX I use the dongled VGA and it does not seem to detect the 2nd connection on the straight DVI port at all, I would try a dongle on the 2nd port and attempt to use dual VGA, but I don't have an additional monitor handy.
