  1. I am trying to copy 2 kexts from a USB to my Extensions folder and terminal seems unbelievably finicky.. (although its me who is wrong) I have looked online and the command seems to be cp -R as a kext is a directory. So Surely the command would be: cp - R Volumes/Untitled/AppleACPIPS2Nub.kext Volumes/MacBookPro/System/Library/Extensions/ ?? I keep either getting the error 'No such file or directory'. Or 'Unable to copy extended attributes to System/Library/Extensions/Contents/MacOS: No such file or Directory. I am not sure why it is putting Contents/MacOS on the end of what I am typing Can anyone tell me where I am going wrong as I know it must me that I am using the wrong command or need to out in or take out a / or \ or ~ Thanks
  2. Fixed!! Thank you so much!! Able to boot to a screen. NO mouse of keyboard yet, I'll have to get a USB one to set up. Tried Single User mode - no keyboard, so booted with USB to install screen and ran terminal there using a bluetooth keyboard. Deleted kexts AppleIntelHDGraphics.kext and AppleIntelHDGraphicsFB.kext from HDD. Had to boot with GraphicsEnabler=NO Thanks again for the great support!
  3. Hi, thanks for the reply. Is there a way of doing this in single user mode? I can get to that stage on the hd.
  4. I have used kext wizard and repaired the kexts on the USB installer that I deleted the kexts from and reinstalled onto the HD but still the same problem :'(
  5. Im not at that stage yet though, I havent managed to get it to boot yet I'll see if I can attach a video of what its doing? Is that possible on here?
  6. So would I boot from USB, load Disc Utility and repair permissions there? Sorry, Im a bit of a newbie. Well, I've built a couple of desktop Hacks but this laptop is infuriatingly restrictive in terms of Bios!
  7. Thanks again for your reply. In the instructions it just said to remove the kexts and it should then boot enough to make the final tweaks. Is it possible to disable to SIP before OSX is properly installed? Many thanks
  8. Thanks for the quick reply. That is actually the guide that I used. I meant to copy and paste it into my first post so sorry about that. Still the same problem. Graphics work from the USB installer, but not the HDD. Does it use different settings to the USB for the second half of the install when it is booting for the HD for the first time? Im at a loss.
  9. Hi, I am new to this forum so please excuse my ignorance. I have installed El Capitan only the HD. Got the installer working including graphics from USB using lapic patch for dual core and SMBIOS 5,1. On first boot from HDD to complete installation, after the apple logo, the screen goes blank. I have tried deleting AppleIntelHDGraphics.kext and AppleIntelHDGraphicsFB.kext from the USB installer as suggested in the guide. I cant understand why the first part of the installer would work from USB but not the second part from the HDD. Have tried -x -f, GraphicsEnabler=Yes/No in various combinations. Any ideas? HP Pavilion G6 1075SA 8GB memory i5 480m processor with 1st gen intel HD graphics. Many thanks!
  10. I thought I had a perfect install of snowleopard until i tried installing Logic from DVD. I am running snowleopard 10.6.4.
