  1. Lifehacker Guide with GA-EP45-UD3P Motherboard

If you are using Stell's package (which uses the Chameleon R3 bootloader), then when you get to the boot screen, do not select the Win 7 drive directly but rather select the System Reserved Partition. This is what Windows 7 uses in an EFI setup for a boot device. You then will not get the BOOTMGR is missing message and not have to use F12 or F8 to boot.

Reformatted my Time Machine drive and rebooted. So far everything is working fine...
  3. Lifehacker Guide with GA-EP45-UD3P Motherboard

Yep...after some troubleshooting, I decided to disconnect all of my HDD's except the Boot drive. Worked fine. So I slowly added each drive then rebooted and found that my Time Machine drive was causing the issue. I disconnected that drive from the SATA port and everything worked great! Now, troubleshooting my Time Machine drive...I will completely reformat and partition this drive and start over after I pull a few things off of it. I will update this process once I have completed it. Thanks Stellarola!

Spoke too soon :-( It booted the 1st time and then I rebooted and it now hangs after the DMI Pool...I don't receive the bootloader window at all...it goes to the cursor spin the the top left corner then hangs. Well back to my old Extras...

    Awesome! Works great!
  6. Thanks for the response...If I am not mistaken, AppleHDA.kext is the audio driver...if I am using an external audio card, do I even need it?
  7. Weaksauce12... Great guides you have and I am waiting patiently for your 10.5.8 kit and guide. However, I am trying to use Logic 9 and I need to get my system to 10.5.7 (it is at 10.5.6 right now.). My question is if I follow your 10.5.6 instructions (and use the kit for that) and instead of doing the 10.5.6 combo updater that I simply just do the 10.5.7 combo updater instead from a clean install...any issues with that? I know I cannot do the 10.5.8 updater in its place from a clean install as I get KP's all over the place (already tried that.) Thanks for your help! Thought I would ask before wiping my system clean.
  8. Lifehacker Guide with GA-EP45-UD3P Motherboard

Everything works great...Installation, Boot (even can dual-boot w/Windows 7 using the F12 at the system MB start page)...until... #1) I cannot install Silverlight (says I cannot install onto a PowerPC) #2) I would like to find out how to boot into 32-bit kernel mode. My setup is exactly the same as the lifehacker one...I customized the About This Mac to read Q9650 but obviously there is somewhere else where the Proc info is stored and this may be an issue longterm if installers look for this info... Any help would be appreciated.. Eric
  9. lifehacker-install will not boot in 32-bit mode

I also am experiencing the same issue...I would like to boot into 32-bit mode and the suggestion of editing the com.apple.boot.list file does not work and neither does using the few utilities (i.e. 32- or 64-bit Kernel Startup Mode Selector) The Boot kernel changes to 32-bit mode but the system kernal remains 64-bit. I cannot run Parallels or some of the plugins I use for Photoshop in the 64-bit mode until their respective applications are updated to 64-bit. Any suggestion on how to boot into 32-bit mode would be greatly appreciated. (I am a NOOB at this so it probably explains why I can't figure this out on my own :-)
