  1. Hi Guys Well I got my Acer 5742 running Mav great, QEiCI, iMessage all that. Thought I would give Yosemite a try. So I tried it on a second partition. No go. It gives up without message while it’s reading kexts. But I could get it to run when it is one it’s own disk or as the first partition. I’ve tried Chameleon 2280 and 2391. The boot.plists are the same. I’ve tried installing to 0md and I’ve tried every boot flag I know. I’ve cloned them back and forth, but it always fails in the same way when it’s the second partition! I don’t see anything in my EFI partition when I mount it. Can anybody tell me what’s going on here?
  2. Hi Guys Just getting ready to install mavericks. This guide still cool?
  3. ok here's my org.chameleon.Boot.plist from /Extra: <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?> <!DOCTYPE plist PUBLIC "-//Apple//DTD PLIST 1.0//EN" "http://www.apple.com/DTDs/PropertyList-1.0.dtd"> <plist version="1.0"> <dict> <key>GenerateCStates</key> <string>Yes</string> <key>GeneratePStates</key> <string>Yes</string> <key>Kernel</key> <string>mach_kernel</string> <key>Kernel Flags</key> <string></string> <key>Timeout</key> <string>5</string> <key>EthernetBuiltIn</key> <string>y</string> <key>GraphicsEnabler</key> <string>y</string> <key>device-properties</key> </dict> </plist> and here's the /Library/Preferences/SystemConfiguration/com.apple.Boot.plist <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?> <!DOCTYPE plist PUBLIC "-//Apple//DTD PLIST 1.0//EN" "http://www.apple.com/DTDs/PropertyList-1.0.dtd"> <plist version="1.0"> <dict> <key>Kernel Flags</key> <string></string> </dict> </plist> sorry to be a pest. i hate asking for help...
  4. Ok i cleared the boot flags out of /Extra/org.chameleon.Boot.plist. Repaired permissions etc. Same thing, errors but they go away when i boot -f. I updated to chameleon r1650. Same. Doesn't -f actually mean ignore boot caches? I cleared them with onyx. Same thing! Hating!
  5. i did fresh installs using eliade's guide to the letter. worked fine, no errors. used perroboy's 10.7.2 updating method, and stated getting the errors. but sound is working fine. but if i boot with -f, they go away....
  6. Hi guys Just tried yet another install. My sound is working fine, but i'm getting these warnings. Should I care? 7. Snow on P4P800?

Yeah I have Leopard running on it now. Anybody?
  8. Hi guys Did a lot of searches, but couldn't find any references to installing snow onto this board. Anybody tried it?
  9. Hi guys I couldn't get my onboard LAN to give me any more than half duplex, and I want gigabit. So i got a gigabit DGE-530T (88E8001) that needs skgekext to work. I removed the R1000.kext and stuck in the skge. So now the DGE-530T is only at 100mb/s. And no time machine. Do I have to change my plist?
  10. Hey guys check it out i got my system going on a RAID! Sweet! I used this guide if anyone's interested: http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=160467 It's cool for us because it uses Chameleon 2 with the Extra folder thingy. But not recommended for noobs like me! Anyway it's about the popping sound. What a drag. In the old thread there was talk about changing the product stuff to MacPro or something. Do we still need to do this now in 10.5.7? I followed your guide to the letter and mine ended up as an iMac, model id iMac8,1. Did i do something wrong? Or is it just a matter of trying the other drivers? I used the blue folder ones. My board is a 1.1. Oh and I have orange drives. But I do like them better. Should I care?
  11. Hi! Well I finally got it going. Amazing! When we want to modify on of the kexts in Extra, do we have to recopy the Extra folder into the boot partition again? or the plist?
  12. Hi guys Finally got my efi Leopard up and running under AHCI on my P5B, and my bench results are great except for my SATA's disk access which is amazingly slow. My ICH8R is showing up as generic in the profiler. I've been trying to track down a fix for days but nothing I try works. Anybody have this board and managed to get things moving faster? Thanks!
  13. Dual monitor VNC?

Hi Ok I've got 10.4.8 running on an asus p4p. Using Callisto for an ATI 9600. Running smooth. I use it through vnc, but I'd like to use it across both my pc monitors running at 1280x1024. If I could set my mac's monitor rez to 2560x1024 I could use it full screen if I span the pc monitors. Right? Trouble is, the mac only allows a max rez of 1280x1024 in system prefs. Is there some way to convince it to be 2560x1024? Maybe through Callisto or on boot or something? Thanks!
  14. Headless for VNC?

It doesn't hang, it boots fine without the monitor. It's just that there's no monitor for VNC to share so you can't connect. Once it boots with a monitor attached, you can unhook it and VNC works fine. On PPC, we could just stick an adapter on and it would think there was a monitor...
  15. Headless for VNC?

Well I got 10.4.8 running on a p4p800E with a radeon 9600. Pretty cool! I use VNC a lot, and it's getting to be a real pain to have to plug in a monitor every time I need to reboot, since it needs a monitor connected on boot. The old trick of plugging in an adapter doesn't seem to work on these intels. Anybody got any ideas? I also tried Screenrecycler to get an extra vitual monitor over vnc, but it isn't designed to take inputs so it's pretty useless even though it works. Any other way to create a virtual monitor for VNC? Thanks!
