Just wanted to say thanks to everyone who has made SL on the 1201n possible! This "netbook" is a really good machine & with SL on it makes it that much better!

I downloaded the combo update from the apple site but i've read that the update is only for those how went directly from 10.6 to 10.6.3 so it won't show up in the software update as normal. So far, so problems to report even though it wasn't intened for my system (i went from 10.6-10.6.2-10.6.3).

I installed the new combo 10.6.3 v1.1 update on my 1201 and everything seems the same. No difference at all; the only reason i installed it was because i am hoping that maybe somehow (in the future - one can hope) i would be able to have HDMI audio through the cable. The new MBPs that came out today support this and this update was posted on apple's site yesterday (4/12/09). But to answer the question, no problems and no difference with the new update.

I just got the ASUS 1201N and i am currently running 10.6.3 and this thing is amazing! It's perfect and comfortable on the hands (almost full sized keyboard) and eyes (screen size wise - i switched from a Dell mini 10V). Honestly the ethernet thing can be fixed if needed by buying a usb-to-ethernet adapter and the WLAN is another easy fix. I bought a Dell 1505 half height wireless card from eBay for $29 (works OTB) and rebranded it to an Airport Extreme card (optional) and it has been a great computer. I would encourage you look at the 1201n.
