  1. Hello! I'm running a HP Probook 4540s with Intel I3-3110m processor and HD4000 graphics card. When I load up Yosemite, just after the Apple logo and loading bar and before the desktop loads my screen glitches out for a second. I can't find anything to fix it. I've tried googling and can't find my problem anywhere. Also, the Apple logo and loading bar are stretched. I've got my BIOS set to UEFI without CSM which apparently should fix that but it's still stretched. Any help? Thanks, Chris

    Asus 1201N Installation and support

Thank you so much for replying! Cleared this up for me. It's detecting the 9400M but I still don't have QE/CI on 10.6.8 - how can I get this working? I got my audio working. But now my USB is gone. USB mouse/keyboard works but usb storage just isn't working. Still can't get bluetooth working either. Any ideas or kexts to use?

    Asus 1201N Installation and support

Is anyone able to help me with graphics on 1021NL 10.6.8? (I know this is 1201N but I read that they're practically the same?) I thought it was a GMA 950, I've tried installing kexts from loads of different GMA 950 places. Tried EFI strings, DSDT, nothing. I finally got it to show up as a card but it's saying I have an nVidia 9400M. So is it this card I have or the 950? It's running fine atm but I just cannot get QI/CE working at all. Which is really annoying cause videos play for 2 seconds then stop, the mouse is really laggy when moving. Any help at all please? Another thing I've tried so many different audio kexts and cannot get it working and the same with bluetooth Any/all help is appreciated.

    Asus 1201N Installation and support

Can anyone help me? Trying to install Snow Leopard on my 1201NL but when I get to the part of installation where you select which drive you want to install it on my drive isn't there. It's not detected in Disk Utility either or in terminal using diskutil.
  5. Okay so I had a Lion & Windows 8 dualboot running. The windows 8 was just tragically awful so I formatted that partition and installed ubuntu over the top. Now, I can boot into ubuntu just fine, it loads up the grub loader and it shows my lion partition on it. However, when I click the lion option my computer just reboots and I can't get back into lion. What have I done and how can I fix it? :/ There's lots of important things on that partition.. Also, when I try and mount the lion partition in ubuntu it says: Error mounting: mount: wrong fs type, bad option, bad superblock on /dev/sda1, missing codepage or helper program, or other error In some cases useful info is found in syslog - try dmesg | tail or so How do I fix that? Thanks, Chris
  6. Hey, thanks for this! I can't get DVI-HDMI working on my 9500 GT 1GB card. I'm using DSDTSE to edit the dsdt file, when I save it, it tells me: What am I doing wrong? I just copied and pasted what you put. Do I need to make my own NVCAP thing and put that in there?

    The NVIDIA 9500GT Thread

Hey How can I force my osx86 so it has a refresh rate of 30Hz? I have a nVidia 9500 GT 1GB graphics card, Gigabyte ES2L motherboard, running retail 10.5.8. About this mac says: nVidia GeForce 9500 GT: Chipset Model: nVidia GeForce 9500 GT Type: Display Bus: PCIe PCIe Lane Width: x16 VRAM (Total): 1024 MB Vendor: NVIDIA (0x10de) Device ID: 0x0640 Revision ID: 0x00a1 ROM Revision: nVidia GeForce 9500 GT OpenGL Engine [EFI] Displays: GTVL19W17HDF: Resolution: 1920 x 1080 @ 50 Hz Depth: 32-Bit Color Core Image: Hardware Accelerated Mirror: Off Online: Yes Quartz Extreme: Supported Rotation: Supported Interlaced: Yes QuartzGL: Supported Television: Yes GTVL19W17HDF: Resolution: 1024 x 768 @ 60 Hz Depth: 32-Bit Color Core Image: Hardware Accelerated Main Display: Yes Mirror: Off Online: Yes Quartz Extreme: Supported Rotation: Supported QuartzGL: Supported Right, now I have two cables running form my machine to my 19" TV. A VGA and a DVI-HDMI one. The VGA works fine but only has these really low eresolutions. The DVI doesn't work. It works to start with, shows the apple logo, then goes black. I've figured its thje refresh rate because its the same in windows. However, mac will only let me have 50 or 60 Hz. It works fine at 30Hz. Can someone please tell me how I can lower the refresh rate? Thanks, Chris
  8. Hey there. Well, I have my Retail OS X 10.5.7 already isntalled on a GUID partition. 500gb HD 4gb Ram Gigabyte ES2L Motherboard Intel Quad Core Q8200 CPU nVidia 9500 GT graphics Right, I have a problem with the graphics so I'm following a tutorial on the site but for some reason ym computer doesn't like bootable DOS memory sticks and wont boot it up at all. So I need a windows partition to get the ROM for NVCap maker. But, now my problem is that becuase the HD is formatted to the GUID thing, otherwise it said I couldn't isntall the retail OS X, it won't let me install windows... Is there any way I can isntall windows 7 on this HD without having to wipe everything etc? Thanks, Chris
  9. ChrissehB

Okay I reinstalled OS X but this time I used 10.5.6 Retail with Boot 132 instead of iAtkos. Parallels still wont install, VirtualBox is giving the same error but VMWare is working! Right now Windows 7 is installing XD Thanks for all the help, Chris
  10. ChrissehB

Thanks, but when trying to open any virtual machine, VMWare gives a kernel panic, VirtualBox says error and Parallels won't let me install it. Thanks, Chris
  11. ChrissehB

Thanks but still not working. No kernel panic but it says "Failed to start the virtual machine Windows 7. VT-x is not available. (VERR_VMX_NO_VMX). Unknown error creating VM (VERR_VMX_NO_VMX)." Shame... Its just the CPU then =/ If I had known this before I bought it I would have bought a different one =/ Shame. If anyone has any idea to get virtualization on a none virtualization cpu pleeease tell me! Thanks anyways, Chris

I;m trying to installa 32bit windows 7 but whenever i open vmware and it tries to start the machine its just a kernel panic. Is there a patched version of VMWare which doesn't do this? Also I can't install Parallels because it says my system doesn't have the correct stuff (virtualization). No patched versions available? Thanks, Chris

It says its an Intel Core 2 Quad Q8200. But i googled it and it says no virtualization, what I'm asking is there a way around it so I can have virtualization? Thanks, Chris
  14. Hey guys Right heres my sit. I've installed iAtkos 7 (the 10.5.7 one) and its all going great (I think). I have a gigabyte es2l motherboard and an intel core 2 quad q8200 cpu, 4gb ram, nvidia 9500gt graphics, urm don't know what else to put, a realtek wireless thing (which currently isn't working ). Here we go, so, I have the Voodoo something .7 kernal which i got from the isntall disk. I want to boot windows 7 into my osx86 using virtualization. But after reading up I've found that my cpu doesn't support virtualization and when I try I just get a kernel panic. (Using VMWare Fusion 2) Is there any way I can not get a kernel panic and use the virtualization on my PC? Thanks, Chris
