Aspire One D255E OSX installation help please? Almost there I think.

Anything not working? Sound, graphics, webcam?

OSX on Acer Aspire One D255E

Same question here. Any luck? It's been a while since I've messed around with OSX86 installs.

Snow Leopard Retail with a GTX 260

Alright, update, but there really hasn't been much progress. Here's where I am. I've recently tried the new ##### CD. The CD worked great until the same area as the last time, but instead of a black screen, it now just restarts. Here are two YouTube videos of both failing. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4kHlcxJxJ5A http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5FSymX4pa7M Don't mind my language, it's 2am and I'm tired. EDIT: the timeout is appleintelcpupowermanagement. It's the last thing to show before freezing/restarting/going black.

I tried these arguments even with newer boot CDs, including the P55 ##### cd. Nothing wants to work. I changed to a very, very, very old PCI nvidia card from years ago just to see what might happen, but it then gave me an error with appleintelcpupowermanagement and hung right before the installation screen. Do you think that a different graphics card would fix this? EDIT: Just dug around. Perhaps it's an additional ethernet card that's screwing with the install. I'll see if disabling the onboard LAN or removing the PCI Ethernet slot fixes anything.

Quick recheck - anyone know of one?

Snow Leopard Retail with a GTX 260

First off, Thank you. Really. I think we're getting somewhere - the problem is that this issue is happening when booting from the install disc. I cannot even get OSX installed yet due to the fact that the monitor turns off when it goes into the install menu for OSX. It's there - it's just not displaying. Maybe there's a boot disc that disables nvdaresman.kext? Or an option to do so?

-x does not work, graphicsenabler=yes doesn't want to work... Is there another boot CD I should try?

Is there anything I can do to make the card work in installation? Like I said, I only have this card available.
9. Hello everyone, long time no see. First off, my hardware. Foxconn p55MX motherboard, i7 core 8xx, 4 gb RAM, and most importantly a GTX 260. So I have an issue. I've been using the guide below along with a Foxconn P55MX Motherboard. Before updating the bios, I couldn't get past the root device issue (because the AHCI option wasn't in BIOS v01. It's in v05.) http://tonymacx86.blogspot.com/2009/12/ins...ectly-from.html Anyway, I get to RIGHT before the installation screen - I actually get to it, but I can't see it. This is due to the fact that the display goes off right when I reach the installation screen. I can tell that it gets to this point because if I hit enter, the disc starts spinning again, showing that it's in the installer. I've tried switching the input to the monitor, but it seems to be the card itself. I believe it's a direct issue with the card because in the comments, user Jeff33702 reports the same thing. He had a spare card available, but I do not. Any ideas, tips? I've tried quite a few pre-brewed bootloaders. I'm not sure how to do one myself. :/ Thanks for the help, everyone. After this, I'd love to upload a guide for this board, including how to do a bios update.
10. Going to try this and get back. Using a Gateway t 6330 u EDIT: Didn't work on my setup either. Bummer! I really want tap to click!
11. Hey everyone, I'm using a vanilla install of Leopard with a GUID boot layout. I have two partitions, one for a backup (incase I mess something up on my main install) and one for the main. The backup partition is drive 2 (drive 1 is EFI) and then my partition that I'd like it to automatically load is partition 3. Googling, it seems that if I would have used a MBR, this would be as simple as making the partition active. However, this doesn't work with GUID. Anyone have any idea what to do so I don't have to always hit the down arrow key and enter?

Leopard Laptops with NON-working GMA X3100

Hey everyone, I've got a nice Gateway computer using the x3100. I have almost everything working! The only thing that doesn't work is Mirror Displays. After reading this topic, sounds like it will never work. Can anyone confirm or deny this? I would give almost anything to get mirror displays working!

AppleACPIPS2Nub for Leopard only

Ah, that makes sense. The Macbook I helped update the other day now has that preference pane as well, I hope we can get in there sometime soon! Thank you. I wish I would have known to update to 10.5.5 first, then I could have set the option before updating to 10.5.6. Thank you for your input! EDIT: I'm wondering where the config file is to manually edit it is? I'm going to do some snooping.

I've been looking around for my last post, but haven't been able to find anything. Anyone else have any luck?
