1. Thanks! Yes it makes a huge difference and it's wonderful the card is natively supported in OS X. Thanks again for the help.
2. Yeah you guys were 100% correct on that one. Moved it down to the PCI-e 16x 2.0 slot and speed shot through the roof. Thanks so much for the advice. This card is great, so happy with the results now!
3. I've got an open 16x slot. Think I'd get better results if I move the card down to there?
4. I ended up picking up one of these cards: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B005B0A6ZS/ref=oh_o00_s00_i00_details Installed into a PCI-e 1x slot, had to bend the back plate slightly to get a solid connection and still be able to screw it to the case. Reloaded the OS on the new controller. Detected automatically, no configuration or drivers needed. Solid card, nice to get my SSD off my southbridge. I'm seeing about 200MB/s read speeds with it which is slow for the Crucial M4 128GB I have, but still infinitely faster than my old magnetic drive.
5. 10.7.3. is OUT !

Geronimo! Coming from iATKOS L2 to 10.7.3. Ran software update, reboot, KP. Removed VoodooHDA & AppleHDA, reboot, reload VoodooHDA with #####, reboot again. No issues. Welcome to 10.7.3.
6. Thanks for the reply! Definitely going to pick on of these cards up when I go to an SSD.
7. Have you tried using this card in a RAID0 setup? If so what were your results in OSX? Any luck?
8. If anyone has the scrambled displays problem I mentioned above, it would appear I've solved it. All I had to do was go into System Preferences > Boot Loader and set the Graphics Mode to the resolution of my primary monitor. Simple reboot, no more unplugging and replugging adapters at boot.
9. Lion on a GA-N650SLI-DS4

Has anyone got a way to inject the nForce SATA drivers into the iATKOS 10.7.2 L2 disc? That seems to be the driver holding me up from loading the OS on this board. Is there a distro that already has the nForce SATA Driver already built in? Is that driver even Lion ready yet? Anyone who can give me some help on this I'd appreciate it. Thanks.
10. can anyone confirm HDMI works on XFX 6870 (HD687AZHFC)?

I can confirm the XFX HD6870 works on DVI, HDMI & MiniDP. I use 4 displays on my machine at the same time on an XFX HD6870.
11. Has anyone gotten the XFX HD6870 working with mini display ports and no distortion at login? I have mine setup with 1 HDMI, 1 DVI & 2 MiniDP to DVI adapters. All 4 monitors power on no issue, but until I unplug & replug one of the MiniDP adatpers, the MiniDP monitors are distorted. No idea what causes it. In snow leopard if I installed the DX58SO driver pack it stopped, that didn't solve the issue in Lion. Any help would be appreciated.
12. iAtkos L2 is OUT!

Just downloaded and burned this one off. My currently install has been flaking out the last 2 days. Going to wipe and reinstall tomorrow to see if the stability gets better. Tried an install on my Elitebook 8460p Laptop. Installs fine, tries to boot, but Graphics never initialize. I can hear the OS running, the voice over starts, but can't see anything. Oh well, trying my main desktop tomorrow.
13. Thanks for this. I was just coming to ask if a specific card I was contemplating buying was Lion compatible. This will do quite nicely for an SSD I'd like to load the OS on. Perfect.
14. Strange. I'm using the XFX HD6870 Black with iATKOS 10.7.2 and it identifies as an HD6870. It only IDs as the NI40 when I was using Snow Leopard. Not sure what would cause that since the 6870 is natively supported in Lion, unless you're still on Snow Leopard.
15. Show Your OS X Desktop!

It's been a while since I put a shot up here. Since I just finished configuring my latest Hackintosh configuration with Lion thought it was time for an update. Thanks again iATKOS team.
