P5K-SE Snow Leopard 10.6 Vanilla Installation
SiriusW replied to JD Apolo's topic in OSx86 10.6 (Snow Leopard)
May I know how to copy the PC-EFI 10.1 folder's boot file to the root of the Snow partition? Even I make the file into visible in finder by using: defaults write com.apple.Finder AppleShowAllFiles YES I still cannot copy the file into the root. It prompts me: The item "boot" cannot be replaced because it is invisible. -
P5K-SE Snow Leopard 10.6 Vanilla Installation
SiriusW replied to JD Apolo's topic in OSx86 10.6 (Snow Leopard)
Really appreciate your work, JD! Will try to use ur guide to install tomorrow. One thing I would like to ask, what is included in ur DSDT.AML? I mean the Lan/GFX/Audio and the CMOS reset fix, which is included? I think other readers of ur guide also want to know these details. By the way, which app u r using to generate the DSDT.AML? SiriusW replied to Jimmy Mallmann's topic in OSx86 10.5 (Leopard)
Hi Jimmy, Finally I get it work by choosing VGA/DVI. May be at the first time, I choose the wrong one. And just now, I try to plugin a small piece of USB bluetooth doggle, it works immediately! Now I got a full working leopard!! Thanks for creating this guide to make the whole installation process easier!! -
P5K-SE - Retail Leopard Instalation
SiriusW replied to Jimmy Mallmann's topic in OSx86 10.5 (Leopard)
Yesterday, I replace the IDE HD with a SATA HD, then install once again. This time, there is no booting error anymore! VGA, Network works!! Now, the only little problem is, I cannot get the DVI port working. I tried the different values of the NVCAP DVI/DVI, DVI/VGA, VGA/DVI. The result is: DVI/DVI : both DVI port and VGA port shows nothing DVI/VGA : only the VGA port works. The DVI port goes black after the apple logo showing. VGA/DVI: The VGA port works. The DVI port shows only blue screen. My VGA card is XFX 9400GT 512M ram. Any idea? -

P5K-SE SUPER-TALENT DDR2 667 1G X2 MAXTOR 20G IDE HD LITON SATA DVDRW XFX 9400GT 512M Before install, I just create 1 partition, format it to HSF journalled format, GUID. -

I already format the IDE drive using HFS+ journaled only (without case-sensitive) since the first install, but still get the error. I suspect that may be the cause is the IDE drive. I am going to use a SATA drive to install again. -

Hi Jimmy, First, thanks for the effort to create this guide. I just try to install w ur guide on hand. Everything works fine, until I install the ur pkg. I restart the computer, trying to boot from hd, then error occur: boot0: GPT boot0: HFS+ boot0: booting boot0: done boot1: error Before install, I just create 1 partition, format it to HSF journalled format, GUID. I guess, the problem is related to the boot settings in the bootloader. (wrong disk no. /wrong partition no.) I have 1 SATA DVDRW and 1 IDE HD in the system. Do you have a solution for this error? Or, how can I get more information to check with? Now, I can only boot into OSX using the P5K boot CD...
