  1. Thinkpad X220

It seems like a good alternative to Macbook Air, its got nice specs for its size and price, wonder about compatibility.
  2. windows 7 boot loader

My bad, I didnt notice this thread: http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=197463 which had the answer. The reason I couldnt fix the windows bootloader was because the partition wasnt active(needs to be when you fix the bootloader, then using diskpart you can re-activate the chameleon one, in my case the one that has snow leopard as well) So yeah, no need for easyBCD or whatever, everything works like a charm...
  3. Hello everyone, Up until now I had a perfect triple boot system (leopard, snow, winXP) on a single drive. For the past weeks Ive been trying to replace XP with windows 7 and so far have failed miserably. Here's my latest non-working method: One hd with 3 partitions. 1. Snow leopard 2. Leopard 3. Windows 7 I first copy 1&2 using carbon copy cloner to the first 2 partitions, and format the 3rd as Fat32 Install Chameleon rc4 in Snow. Everything so far is normal... Boot win7 DVD, format the 3rd partition as NTFS and proceed with the install . After all is done, win7 loads when computer starts which of course is normal. So, how do I make Chameleon default again without screwing win's bootloader? What I tried to do, since only making partition 1 active resulted in cursor flashing and nothing more, was resetting the mbr (fdisk -u) which resulted in chameleon working again but when I choose windows, it says it cnt load because a component is missing etc. I also tried fixing windows through the install DVD(bootrec /fixmbr etc) but it didnt help. Thanks
  4. Im using MC 3, and at some point which I cant track back, it stopped recognizing the audio interface, therefore it wont load at all. I cant remember when was the last time it worked, Im using 10.5.8 on an asus p5e64ws evolution, using taruga's patcher for ADI1988 and as I said it used to work just fine with this setup(went through 10.5, 6, 7 and 8). I recently purchased a presonus firebox to be used with cubase and probably installed a few progs since but I cant be more specific. I already tried to revert to the 10.5 kexts, also removed the midi folders in library/audio as suggested in the avid forums to no avail. Any other ideas?
  5. I had the same problem with snow and had to chkdisk and repair the disks (3 in total) in windows. I then removed the fstab lines I created and will install ntfs-3g(even though I had minor issues in leopard with it as well)
  6. Ive setup two idetical machines that run perfectly with iatkos 5i, mainly for fcp and batch transcodes of RED footage thats quite processor intensive for mac and heavy compositing for pc. asus p5ew64 evolution intel 2.8 quad 8gb 1600 ram 9800 gtx+ the only thing not working was the fw, so I got a cheap fw800 card that does the job Maybe you should consider the new i7 processors, they are quite faster than the previous quadcores.
  7. NVIDIA 9 Series Driver Installer v2

Im using the correct frqmework, I get an "nvidia 9800gtx+ engine" so the problem is elsewere I guess. And Im still using nvinject insteqd of efi strings.
  8. NVIDIA 9 Series Driver Installer v2

Hi, I just got a 9800gtx+ and used the installer, Im also using the latest graphics update on iatkos5i. Apparently if I use gfx strings(done the walkthrough, used the ones for 9800gtx) I cant get qe/ci, only if I use nvinject where I cant get it to see 512mb, only 256. Any ideas? Also, I used xbench and noticed that opengl was way faster with my previous card(7900gs 256mb). Again, any ideas?
  9. NVIDIA 9 Series Driver Installer v2

I installed the driver(fresh iatkos 5i, graphics update, efi strings, qe/ci ok) for a 9800gt 512 and the results I got with xbench were worse than a 7900gs 256 I have... what could it be? to give you an idea: 7900 9800 quartz graphics test: 258.12 152.17 OpenGL Graphics test 224.23 175.38
  10. Im using iatkos 5i. Everything works ok except graphics(no qe/ci, which wont be resolved until someone writes vaio specific drivers, check a relevant post in xlabs) and wireless(3945, again waiting for drivers, if your vaio uses the same check www projectcamphor mercurysquad com for updates)
  11. Sony Vaio VGN AW-120J

Graphics in vaios dont work well because sony uses a controller between gfx card and processor that prevents qe/ci in the internal display. As been said many times before, unless someone ports some linux drivers that exist somewhere, your best bet is to either change laptop or use it without qe/ci(which is a bit worthless if you ask me)
  12. Some tracks for VAIO display support

Ive tried many nvcap values, everytime getting a black scree, sometimes the external monitor woul work with qe/ci, only with macvidia I managed to get proper display(1280x800) without qe/ci.
  13. Some tracks for VAIO display support

So, any coder owning a vaio who's willing to port the linux drivers?
  14. Some tracks for VAIO display support

I have a 7600go 128mb. As I mentioned in my previous post, there was no way to get picture in the lcd with any of the other injecters(at least not with res bigger than 1024x768)
